Winston is a 3 year old GSD. He lost his front right leg to a car about a year ago - but it does not slow him down at all. He is well mannered, completely house broken. Winston is good with dogs his size - he can play a little rough so I would not recommend small dogs. He does not need a home with any small animals (IE Cats, goats, etc.) Because of his size I would recommend a home with older children. Madison County Huntsville, AL MAP IT!

Douglas is 10 weeks old and is one of 6 babies that were rescued at 2 weeks old after there mother was hit by car and the owner was not able to bottle feed and care for all the babies. They were brought to the rescue where we are very experienced in caring for new borns who have lost the moms. The babies mother was a Lab/ Shepard mix but we do not know about dad. There have been some hard times but the babies have been doing great and are finally ready to go to there new homes! Hello, my name is Lexie. Im very sweet and cuddly and I'm really fun to be around, I love to play fetch and do tricks. I do well with all humans even the really small ones. I love playing with bigger dogs but sometimes I get anxious around the smaller ones and like to let them know who's boss. my favorite thing to do is jump 4' chain link fences which is why my family has to find me a more suitable home, so I really need a big pasture to run in or a nice 6' fence to play in. Thor is a 1 year old Shepherd mix (his birthday was in February). We think he may be mixed with hound (Basset Hound to be specific because he has a long torso and shorter legs). He is neutered, been micro-chipped, and is up to date on his rabies shots. He is very sweet and playful. Best place for him would be a family with a yard and kids (or adults) who have time to play with him and give him attention. He is house broken, but we had to train him where it was appropriate to use the bathroom, so that will be expected from his new home. He is about 53 pounds at the moment, so he's not that big of a dog. He loves to run and play chase, fetch, ... (Read More)and to swim. He is typically pretty quiet as far as barking is concerned, and only really barks if he gets overexcited during play time, or is playing with other dogs, not much at home. He loves people and is very excited when meeting new people. We don't have kids ourselves, but when he's been around children he seems very happy with them. We love him and want to make sure that he goes to a good home! He truly is a good dog that we would love to keep, however, we currently live in an apartment and medical issues and upcoming changes are going to prevent us from giving him the time/attention he needs so we feel his needs would be best met elsewhere. I am trying to help an elderly woman find a good home for Phoebe. She found this dog as a stray and kept her with good intentions, but she is unable to care for her and give her the attention she needs. Phoebe is very sweet and loving, loves attention. She really needs to be with someone who can get out in the yard and play with her. Right now she is stuck in a house and unable to get out and play. She seems to be good with most dogs, but does not like cats. She hasn't been around any children, so unsure as to whether or not she would get along with them. German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
