Rescue Me ID: 17-04-23-00126Wolf (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Wolf is an athletic, intelligent, beautiful 'diamond in the rough'. She is available for adoption at no fault of her own. Wolf's previous owner believed GSD puppies were just born knowing how to be a guard dog. Bought from a home breeder, Wolf was put out in the yard all alone. Her owner did not believe she needed any human attention or training. Well, when Wolf got a little older she started to run away. It was easy because the owner only had a 3 foot chain link fence around the property and the chain link was not secured at the bottom so all she had to to do was push under the fence. Aggravated that he had to keep hunting down his runaway ... (Read More)dog, Wolf soon found herself chained to a shed next to the driveway. No grass just asphalt. The only time she was off her chain was when the owner came out to let her go potty. So desperate for affection and companionship, the minute he let her off the chain - she would run away. Now, he does not want her any longer because she is too much trouble. Which is now why she is available for adoption. Wolf is a 10 month old female German Shepherd who is already spayed, heartworm negative and current on rabies. I believe she is purebred but no papers are available. She was given no prior training - not even combing her coat. She is now in my foster care and is learning how to be an excellent companion dog. We are starting with the basics - sitting, walking on the leash without pulling, etc. The perfect family would be ... 1) Someone who loves the breed. 2) A stay at home or retired parent(s) who want a dog by their side OR an active person who loves to be outdoors - hiking, running, camping, etc. who also has another GSD or large breed dog. 3) Fenced in yard - 6 foot fence. 4) A canine brother or sister to be with if parents work. 5) Someone who understands Wolf wants to be in a pack (human/canine or both) NOT alone. Please spread the word that this lovely girl is looking for her forever home! Please email for further information. Here is her Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Wolf-10-month-old-female-German-Shepherd-1834662670113926/ (Less)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

Trouble was so attached to my husband who passed away. He is excellent with adults that love him. He does not do well with kids. He has on occasion been very aggressive to a couple of adults that made him nervous as well. He minds, plays ball, he needs and older man/woman to pal around with. He is use to coming in and out of the house and is very good with my other two dogs and adores the cat. However, he has been overly aggressive to kids.

Almost two months later we were notified he was there so off we went to get this cutie. Like any ... (Read More)GSD he bonds quickly to his handler and wants nothing more than to please that person. He is very good with children and would thrive in a home with dog savvy, respectful ones over the age of 10. Krieger prefers not to share his people with other dogs but could live with a like breed, larger non-confrontational female with slow and proper introduction. He is extremely loyal to his pack, you will never have an issue with this guy once he bonds to you. DOB 01/10/13 We are by appointment only & only after verification. If you are not willing to be verified prior to meeting the dog you're interested in, then we do not feel you are best suited for one of our dogs. If it states the dog cannot be placed with other dogs, then no other dogs, your dog is not the exception just because your dog is friendly & loves everything. While we do not place aggressive dogs back in the general public, we give them sanctuary, not all dogs can peacefully live in a home with another dog. All dogs over six-months-old have been with us for a minimum of 30 days prior to being considered for adoption. All puppies under six-months-old have been with us a minimum of 14 days to insure free of contagious disease. Our adoption fee's are nonnegotiable. The adoption fee does not come close to covering the care of the dog while with us however, the fee goes towards helping the next dog in need. If you cannot afford or are unwilling to pay the fee listed for a fully vetted, fully trained dog then you are not the home we are looking for, for one of our dogs. All of our dogs come crate trained, leash trained, basic obedience trained, & are house broken. The exception is young puppies that are working on housebreaking. We do not teach puppies to puppy pads as I have never understood the concept of teaching any dog that the house is a bathroom. We back our dogs for life & will provide free training for them at our location if a behavior issue occurs, even 10 years from date of adoption. They are UTD on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (exception is puppies under four-months, they go out with a voucher to be altered & if not done so by four-months we void the contract and take the puppy back), microchipped. They are HW- and on prevention for HW's as well as flea & tick medication. In the event they are HW+ (the ad will state if so) we provide all medication to treat plus cover all medical related to until such time they receive two negative test results.     I have a German Shepherd Mix named Behr. He is about one yr old. He was found with his sibling in an abandoned house by a little boy that lives across from me. His Mom said nay to keeping him so Behr became the resident stray. He was fed scrapes by a few of the residents but he lived outside and was on his own. On April 2nd Behr was hit by a car but no one could or would get him medical care. I tried to keep an eye on him and noticed that after a few days he wasn't moving very much. I let the residents know I was taking Behr because he needed vet care. I've had him about three months now and I've learned a lot about him. I took him to my ... (Read More)vet and he had a fractured femur high up near the socket so a cast was useless. He's doing really good and although his leg is better, if he over does it ( being a pup he does) he may limp a bit. While at the vets he received his first set of puppy shots, rabies vac, Heartworm test (was negative), urine workup (was normal), fecal was clear, nails cut, and blood work that was normal also. In the beginning of May he received his second series of puppy shots and a well deserved(and needed lol) BATH. All that's left is his neutering, when he is well. I do have a certificate for the neutering. I will chip him if I still have him on August 1, 2016. Behr is a GREAT FURBABY. He's about 45lbs. now. He was 39 lbs when I got him. He has a gentle personality, and is very aware and smart. He has learned how to 'play' and he doesn't mind playing by himself and loves belly rubs. He is also house trained and he has learned how to eat from a bowl. Behr loves to sit in the grass and just chill, sometimes seeing and playing with the residence strays that are still out there. He will not go to a home where he would have to stay outside 24/7. He is very social, and loves to be with his human caretaker. He will need exercise and mental stimulation and some basic training so he'll have good manners. Behr learns quick, and has an understanding of our language. He was a bit food aggressive at first, little low growls, towards my dog Princess, (a Shih Tzu) when she got too close to his food, but not at all now. I think he may be a bit timid due to previous circumstances, but he is low key for being a pup. I think he enjoys the relative quiet verses the chaos where he was. He likes to be outdoors, but when in he is content to play with me or by himself. He loves eating ice cubes and tearing up anything that he gets he teeth so on. So far, four pair of flip flops. lol. He is getting better with that. He will need work on a leash. Since he's from the neighborhood he doesn't stray from me when we go walking. I tried a leash put he pulls and I can't really hold him. I'm older and don't want an accident. We walk and although he runs and plays while we walk, he stays close and I have no problems. But he does need basic obedience classes for his safety and well being. I have everything he needs. Bowls, toys, bed, collar and leash, and food. I have a Shitz Tzu and I can only have one animal where I live or I'd keep him, he IS a keeper. I'd like for him to have a family with children is good. A back yard for him to play. I don't want him in a house where all he does is be by himself and in the yard 24/7. He is very social and loves to interact with people. He whimpers sometimes for attention so you have to love dogs and the interactions with them. I wish I could keep him, but I can't and he will be sorely missed. He would be a great addition to any home. (Less)
