Zorro is a real sweetheart! Found as a stray, he wasn't claimed. He was at Maricopa County Shelter. He is huge (for me), probably 90 pounds and he is thin. Animal ID: DinoDino (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Monsieur Dino, the French German Shepherd 8-year-old, black and brown, large, male, German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Yes Good with kids: Unknown Good with cats: Unknown Dino is quite the character with his happy face and big smile. He was actually born in Paris and understands French! This boy was saved from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and was absolutely adorable on his freedom ride to his foster home. He was so excited to be out of the shelter, it warmed our hearts! %A0 On a recent outing with his foster, he had a great time and really enjoyed being around people. The foster reports that he knows some ... (Read More)commands in French. How cool is that? He did great on a trip to PetSmart and even picked out his own squeaky toy! Overall, Dino is very well behaved and would make a wonderful pet for an active family. Even at the age of 8, he is an active boy and will require a strong handler. He walked nearly four miles on his outing, so this boy would likely love to go hiking, walking or jogging every day. If you're looking for a sweet-natured, active and friendly companion like Dino, please fill out our%A0 online application %A0to get the approval process started. Animal ID: CashmereCashmere (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet, Gentle Cashmere is Ready for her Furever Home 7-year-old, female, black and brown, German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Yes Good with children: Unknown Good with cats: Unknown Cashmere is such a sweetheart! But this poor girl sure had a rough holiday. She was rescued in November from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control after they sent out a medical plea for help. They think Cashmere had been hit by a car. Luckily, nothing was broken, but the vet thinks that Cashmere recently gave birth to puppies. In addition, she just recovered from a massive infection throughout her body. But through it all, Cashmere has been the ... (Read More)sweetest, kindest companion one could ask for. She's been in a foster home with our adoption coordinator who reports that Cashmere is absolutely adorable. This girl had some weakness in her back legs when she came in, but she has recovered nicely and even plays with six other dogs ranging in size at her foster home. She loves to play ball and chew on her bones. And her foster says she's ALWAYS wagging her tail and happy. She's not a super active girl and would do best in a low-to-mid energy home. She does well with other dogs upon proper introduction. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Aspen arrived at the county shelter with Holly and Ivy, and Home Fur Good took in all three of them. HFG is not sure of their relationship and they are of varying ages, but they all look alike and appear to be related. Aspen is two years old, weighs 55 pounds and is a Shepherd mix. Aspen came in with a bit of a limp, and after a visit with our veterinarian he was put on rest, to allow the leg to heal naturally. Aspen is social and intelligent; it has been a little rough on him to remember to stay calm and still. He is now ready for a life of love and play with his new family. The adoption fee is $200 and includes spaying/neutering, ... (Read More)age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

We found out about an abandoned litter of puppies a while back, and one of our fosters reached out to us to help them. They were motherless, and living in an apartment by themselves. That was the story we were told, but, with all stories, it may or may not be true. What is true, is that we saved the litter of 7, and now they are ready to find their forever homes!! This is Eirene, the God of Peace. She is a snuggler and a cuddler, and loves the affection. She is super smart, she finds her way around anything. She goes under, and over, whatever it takes to get to where she wants to be - and she does it quickly. She gets along with the dogs ... (Read More)in the house, and plays well with them and her siblings. She has been around cats and children too and does very well. We are looking for families that have knowledge and/or experience with the breed or working type dogs. We want to make sure that Gaia gets what she needs as she grows into an adult dog. As part of your adoption contract, you will be required to transport the puppy to complete his/her shots, as well as for their spay/neuter at a later date. While puppies are adorable and cute, they are a lot of work. They take time, dedication, and above all, commitment. They will require training (we give you 4 training sessions with us). The rescue strives to give you a puppy that has a good foundation for you to build upon. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. We are never sure about breed because we do not do DNA (we make our best guess), so if that is important to you, these puppies may not be the right choice for you. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a puppy. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative. You will receive a free bag of premium puppy food, as well as a gift card from Choice Pet Market. You will also receive a free complimentary physical exam with a vet. Training is MANDATORY and will be scheduled at a later date and place. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-17-00422MAJOR (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Major recently arrived at Home Fur Good from the county shelter. He is two years old and he not only ranks in size--60 pounds--but also in heart. He takes the lead when it comes to good-dog behaviors, because he is not only kennel trained, but he also sits quietly for his turn to have attention. When Major was taken out of the shelter environment for his photo shoot, he was taken next door to a busy shopping center near a bus stop. Major did not see any strangers; he only saw friends he hadn't met yet, and he made the meetings even more special by crawling up to everyone. He must have had obedience training, because he knows the sit cue ... (Read More)and there is no jumping up. County had him listed as a Shepherd and Chow Chow mix; however, everyone he meets asks if he is a Swiss Mountain Dog. Major is calm and good-natured and he will make an award-winning companion. They were roaming for a time, and this gorgeous girl weighs only 59 pounds. Priscilla is a superstar when it comes to good-dog behaviors. Priscilla hopes that everyone she sees is coming to take her out of her kennel. She gets very excited at the thought of an outing, and once she is out of her kennel she calms right down and politely waits by your side; then she is an absolute dream on the leash. Priscilla knows the cues for sit, paw, down, and possibly more. She is also ever so gentle ... (Read More)when handed a treat. German Shepherd    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

We found out about an abandoned litter of puppies a while back, and one of our fosters reached out to us to help them. They were motherless, and living in an apartment by themselves. That was the story we were told, but, with all stories, it may or may not be true. What is true, is that we saved the litter of 7, and now they are ready to find their forever homes!! This is Athena, named after the Greek Goddess of the reason and intelligence. She is about 7 weeks, and weighs about 10-12 pounds. She is the adventurous one, and loves exploring everything. She is brave to try new things. She is also the energetic one, loves to run around playing ... (Read More)like crazy. She is affectionate and loving, and enjoys being held and cuddled. She gets along with the dogs in the house, and plays well with them and her siblings. We are looking for families that have knowledge and/or experience with the breed or working type dogs. Betty White, the German Shepherd Version, Is Loving Life 6-7-year-old female, black and blonde, German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Yes Good with children: Unknown Good with cats: Unknown Just like the actress Betty White, our German Shepherd version is as gorgeous as they come. But the similarities don't stop there. Just like Hollywood's Betty White, ours is full of surprises too! Poor Betty was found laying near a busy freeway outside of Phoenix and was assumed deceased. But, not so fast! Betty surprised everyone. Not only was Betty alive, she's in pretty good condition and just needs to put on some weight. With some food, treats, lots ... (Read More)of love and attention, we expect Betty to make a complete recovery and be ready for her forever home. The vet estimates Betty is about six years old or so and so far, she appears to be very sweet girl. She just loves people and seems to get along fine with other dogs that are well mannered. Betty likely lived on the streets for a while and is very underweight. But at Saving Paws, we love nothing more than getting these dogs healthy again with some good quality food to get her healthy and strong. We'd love for Betty to have her own Hollywood happy ending by getting her own forever family. This sweet girl may have had a rough go of it lately, but she's got lots of life and love in her for the right family! As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application! All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses.     Nettie's Sweet Spirit Shines Through 6-7-year old, large, blonde, female, German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Selective Good with children: Unknown Good with cats: Unknown Nettie, through no fault of her own, recently came back to the rescue and her adopter was absolutely heartbroken, as were all the volunteers who fell in love with this girl. Unfortunately, her adoptive family had a medical emergency out of the country with no estimated time of return. Poor Nettie was settling in so nicely at her home. But, she's in good spirits now after lots of love from our volunteers, who just adore this beautiful, sweet girl. She is an ... (Read More)incredibly easy dog if you're looking for a lower-energy, easy-going, but affectionate companion. Nettie is so sweet and just wants to be with her people. She absolutely loves affection and will cuddle with you, but also lays down nicely in her dog bed for naps. She walks well on a leash, but does react a bit to other dogs, although we think that could be easily corrected with training. She is selective in choosing her doggie companions, so we suggest a meet-and-greet with any potential adopters' dogs. Nettie is also very quiet, not a big barker. She adapts quickly to being a very happy house dog. She's not bothered at all by loud noise and is generally a very easy-going girl. She would be an ideal companion for a calm family or even a single adult. We don't know whether she's good with children or not, but it's likely she'd be fine with respectful children given her sweet nature. This girl does have some skin issues that we're working on. She has been scratching and chewing, and we're working hard to get her skin back to a beautiful, healthy state. She has a bit of weakness in her back leg, but is doing very well and gets around just fine. She seems to get along with other dogs upon proper introduction, but is a bit selective, so a meet and greet is a must for any potential adopter. In fact, Beau is really the kind of dog that would be happiest with a family and kids to play with! The best part about Beau, other than his stunning good looks, is that he already knows several commands like sit, down, heel and stay. And he even walks great on a leash. Our volunteer reports that he is a truly affectionate and sweet soul. He gets bored with no kids to play with, and we think he'd be a wonderful family dog where he can watch over the children and play toys and ball with them. He loves his toys! And guess what. Beau is just fine with cats! How many shepherd mixes can say that? He truly doesn't mind cats and even lays alongside them with no problem. And don't get the wrong idea, Beau isn't the type to go non-stop. No, this charmer likes to just lay by you and cuddle. He's really a sweet, sweet boy and deserves a fun family to hang out with. If you are interested in meeting Beau and can open your heart and home to him, please contact Connie at cltopliffmd@earthlink.net. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ivy arrived at the county shelter with Aspen and Holly, and Home Fur Good took in all three of them. HFG is not sure of their relationship and they are of varying ages, but they all look alike and appear to be related. Ivy has a white-tipped nose and she is a one-year-old, 30-pound Shepherd mix. She is dog friendly and enjoys her playtime with Aspen and Holly. Ivy may be the shyest of the three, but her heart is just as big. She just needs to be shown how fun it can be to play and interact with the two-legged humans. Ivy needs exposure to the wonders of the world, with a little patience and kindness. The adoption fee is $200 and ... (Read More)includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Let me introduce my handsome self to you. My name is Boone. I am a 4-5 year old Lab and German Shepherd mix. I am fully vetted, neutered and have all my shots. I am a very affectionate boy and while not a puppy anymore (so I don't chew things like puppies or mess in the house and be totally trusted to be alone at home for hours), I still have lots of energy to do whatever you want whether its jogging or just hanging out. I'm a very smart boy, good with most dogs and fine with kids. I'm house trained and I do like a crate, too. I was in a county shelter for eleven months alone and looking for someone just like you to open your heart and home ... (Read More)to me. You see I have been adopted a few times and have been returned because people don't understand me. I get really attached to my new person, my owner, my hero. And well when I get attached to that person I want to protect them. You see I want them all to myself so when someone gets near I can get MOUTHY. I DO NOT BITE. I just get mouthy as to say hey this is my owner not yours! I don't do it all the time, just now and then and you see people have misunderstood e because of this. All I need is someone to tell me no I can't do that for a little while and I am sure I will stop. With a strong owner who tells me NO I can not do that I am just fine, but people don't seem to want to work with me i on this and just dump me back in shelters onto the cold concrete and it makes me really sad. So I was finally rescued and have a nice foster home with other dogs and here is what the rescue says. I probably should be with one owner who will love me and I will love them forever. Perhaps someone who is retired that is alone and wants a forever companion! Well we would be PERFECT together! OR if a family wants me I am good with other dogs and kids and all that but because I do get protective and can get a little jealous if a family had a strong owner who knows shepherds that person could show me that its okay for us all to be together. I just need someone to command me and show me what to do to live with a family together. So I am looking for a family with an experienced shepherd owner or that one person family who wants me to be their pal forever and me theirs and well just the two of us will conquer the world together! I love going on walks and walk well on a leash and I love car rides and I just want my own home and my own human to love.. Won't you give me the chance to show you how much I will love you and be your Furever Friend? Just maybe someone will find my little ad.. Is that you? Could it be? Geez, I hope so. The adoption fee is $200 to cover some of my expenses. Please, email for any additional information. Hope to see you soon. Paws crossed hard, Sincerely, Boone (Less)

Goldie is a 3yr old Shepherd mix looking for a special forever home. She weighs in full grown at 32lbs. Not too big and not too little.. perfect size! Goldie came to us from another rescue who originally got her from the county shelter with puppies. She came to us after the rescue had their dogs living outside in the summer. We aren't sure of Goldie's history, but it wasn't that great or anything we would want to talk about if we knew. However, Goldie is a very sweet girl who is excellent with other dogs of any size, is very sweet once she knows you yet keeps a little distance, not aggressive in any way, fully house broken with a dog door, and is so forgiving. Goldie loves food and loves other dogs.. this is the key to getting her socialized with new people :) Goldie's perfect home would be with a family (no young kids) that is really wanting to RESCUE a dog. A home with another dog or dog(s) that would like her and play with her and snuggle with her. A home with a dog door and a secure yard. A home with patient hands and love and treats! She would do best in a home with no cats. She travels in the car in a kennel (very nervous!), and is not leash trained, she prefers to stay home :P This special girl deserves a special home! Goldie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, chipped, vet checked, comes with 30 days of free oet insurance, and comes with a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $180. To meet her, come to our location at 1102 W. Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021 open daily 11am to 6pm (closed mondays starting Nov 1st). Rescue Me ID: 16-10-27-00240Trinity (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Trinity is an almost 2 year old German Shepherd mix female, spayed dog that had completed most of the training to be a service dog. Unfortunately, the training had abruptly stopped when I had my baby six months ago. She is a very loving dog and absolutely loves one-on-one attention. I feel I cannot give her the attention that she used to get prior to having my baby. She used to go out into public with me at least once a week or more. She is very food-driven, to the point that she needs to be fed alone, away from other dogs. She lives with three cats, but may chase them if not corrected. She has never hurt any of the cats as she looks at ... (Read More)them more like a game then a threat. Trinity is an alpha dog. Trinity would be best if with another beta dog or no dogs at all. Trinity is also raised around kids, both my baby and my other two school-aged kids. She really enjoys kids as she gets all excited and wags her tail like crazy. She does really well with all kids, even stranger kids. Trinity can be reserved when it comes to strangers. She did not pass her public access test due to curling her lip when a 'stranger' went to pet her without her first getting to know the stranger. Trinity needs to be with an experienced owner/handler to be able to deal with such german shepherd stubbornness. Trinity currently stays outside during the day while I am away at work with a large pool of water and plenty of shade. She does not dig and she loves the compressed bones to chew on. At night, Trinity comes in and sleeps in her crate. She is also fed in her crate at night time, away from my other dog. Trinity is housebroken and can be left in the home without being crated. I just don't want her to chase my cats while I am sleeping. She weighs probably around 60-70 lbs, is up to date with her vaccines. She is registered with Maricopa County. I have all documentation to include the training she has been through and vaccines. Trinity needs to be with a family that can spend more time with her and not just stick her outside and forget about her. She loves treats and compressed bones and is a great listener when commands are consistent. (Less)

Sophie is my cute little baby. Yes, she is 7yrs old but she acts like 2yrs old. She loves squeak toys can play with them for hours. She loves long walks and can be a little pulley, which we are working on but she does settle in when she is done exploring every inch of her surroundings. her favorite thing in the whole world right now is sitting under her favorite tree with her favorite staff member (me :) ) just watching the cars go by. However, I know she would trade that in an instant to be able to do that with new forever parents. Sophie would be a great hiking partner, fishing, partner, or swimming partner. Of course she would also love ... (Read More)movie, popcorn night in front of the tube just relaxing. Sophie wears a coat of many colors and has the ability to adjust to any situation as long as she is given her guidelines. I think Sophie would make the perfect companion for anyone who is willing to give her the guidelines of their expectations. Please note: she is part cattle dog so small children are probably not the best thing for her. Oh yeah, she also does not care for the kitties to much. I just know somewhere out there her spunky attitude will touch someone's heart. (Less)

Please help Tyson find a new home. He needs more attention than we can give (were expecting our first baby) and has become very jealous. He has become increasingly territorial with our other 2 dogs (ongoing before pregnancy). We do not want to put him down because he is so playful and can be so loving, he just needs to be in a one dog family with no kids. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-06-00091Tetsu (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

My name is Tetsu and I am a 3 year old Shepherd/Cattledog mutt, only 25lbs but I look way bigger in person! For a long time it's been just me and my person, Kelly. I was brought home at 8 weeks old, and by the time I was 4 months old I had already had a bad experience with one of my owner's ex boyfriends. This has made my experience with men sometimes difficult. After that, I became the 'baby' of the house. Mom was ill prepared for all of my energetic needs, and without boundaries and lots of exercise, I became a big handful. If I am home alone too long I don't exercise restraint with the water dish and I have trouble holding my bladder. ... (Read More)I get some separation anxiety, and my pent up energy causes me to chew chew chew! I am especially fond of lady things. I am possessive! This leads to me being standoffish if I am told to do something I don't want, and if someone is taking mom's time, I often attempt to force my way in. Now the good news! I am SOO very much better with enough exercise. Last year, mom quit her second job and I was able to get out into the mountains 4-5 times a week! What a difference! Nowadays, we simply don't get out enough, mom has had to take her second job back, but I can be a good boy! I am very eager to learn if you just give me the chance. Unfortunately, I am also high risk. I have issues with other dogs, stemming from an experience where I picked a fight with another dog, and for a while there it was only male un-neutered dogs, but the problem has grown to the point where I am a risk at the dog park with a lot dogs bigger than me, and occasionally a small one too. This makes it really hard to get to the dog park to get the exercise I need during the week. Mom has tried to work with me, but I am very defiant when I'm full of energy, and have a lot of ground to work on, and Mom feels like she just can't get it done the way I need. I am food motivated! During Training I know 'Sit', 'Down', 'Stay' (this one is hard!), 'drop', and we are working on 'Heel'. I swear, I want to learn. Sometimes, Mom's new boyfriend takes me for a day, and with strict limits and high output, I show my 'awesome dog' potential. Unfortunately, we can't do this every day. Tetsu is a smart dog with a lot to give. In return, he needs a strong direction and patient hand to help get him back on track and into an active environment where he can stretch his legs on a regular basis. Unless there is a very successful meet and greet, he should go to a home with no other dogs, and he is not small kid safe until his issues are worked out. If given the right training, he will make someone a long lasting friend with lots of love. He is neutered but his vaccinations are not currently up to date. I do plan to have those completed before he is rehomed. I am asking a $30 rehoming fee for him. He would also come with a kennel, toys, and food. (Less)

After all, she was trying to survive on her own on the street. This young girl will need some basic training as it doesn't look like she's really had any. She's still very young and will learn quickly. And she's already learned to sit, so we're sure she'll be easily trained. She does need to learn to walk properly on a leash. And she likes to jump on people, so older children might be best as she develops into a well-mannered, family pet. She is house broken and crate trained, but does seem to be a bit scared of loud noises like motorcycles. We think with a patient, loving family, this girl will really shine and finally live the life she deserves! He is in a medical foster with SPR and his foster says 'he definitely is used to being someone's dog he wants a master to bond to very much'. He has let his foster give groom him and bathe him, so that was a good test of his temperament. He is house broken and knows basic commands. He an older boy who's life been turned upside down and is ... (Read More)overwhelmed and anxious. He is doing well in foster with dogs of all ages and sizes from a Chihuahuas, to an Akita, to a Border Collie. This boy just needs a soft landing to he can live out the remainder of his days on a soft bed with a loving family around him. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

MORLEY Please welcome Morley to Saving Paws. We rescued this pretty girl from MCACC East about a month ago, along with her kennel mate Yary. Morley is a laid back girl of about 5-6 yrs old. She has been with a foster during her time with us, and has been pretty sick with a cough, and UTI, but is now improving. Morley is living with 2 senior Westies and another GSD and does fine with them. Morley's foster mom says that she is very curious, does well on a leash, can use the doggie door, is good with strangers, definitely wants to be petted and loved on - and rolls over for belly rubs. This is a GREAT family dog who is beautiful and ... (Read More)loving. Rescue Me ID: 16-07-09-00356Sandy (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

**COURTESY POSTING** Sandy is an approximately 8 year old medium sized, mixed breed dog. Possibly shepherd/lab mix. She has had a very rough life. Sandy was on her own in the desert for a long time, having multiple litters of puppies. She was so terrified of humans though that it took a year to catch her. Finally one hot summer day, she gave up and walked right into a kennel. After an exam, it was found that Sandy was pregnant again, severely malnourished, and had heartworm. After having her puppies, she was treated for heartworm and her true personality came out. Her foster mom noticed that she was starting to limp one day so she went to ... (Read More)the vet. After an Xray is showed Sandy has a bullet in one of her legs. Part of it was removed but she still has some fragments in her rear leg. This doesn't slow her down though! She has an amazing amount of trust towards humans after everything she has gone through. She loves to relax inside and play with other dogs. She has moments when she jumps around acting like a puppy but is the low maintenance of a senior dog. Sandy would love to go to a home with another dog and a home that would give her the attention and love she has needed her entire life. http://2ndchance.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=10259871 (Less)

This 3 year handsome boy was saved from the AZ Humane Society's euthanasia list after a long battle with deep dermatitis. He was in horrid shape when he was first rescued. His body was covered in a thick crust on his head, neck and abdomen, and consequently Noodle endured many months of peroxide baths. It's not surprising that he escaped with a few battle wounds, but he has come such a long way! His coat is almost entirely filled in. This 42 lb boy is as quirky and lovable as they come! Noodle is not good with cats or small dogs, but might be OK with another larger dog in his forever home. He's still a bit anxious from time to time due to ... (Read More)his past, so the hustle and bustle of a busy house with small children is not really his style. We feel he would do best as either a single dog, or with elementary school aged children and possibly one other larger dog, in a routine environment. It can sometimes take a little for Noodle to trust new people, but he is a loving pup that enjoys lying on your lap and is an absolute ham for attention. He is innately very sweet. Noodle is active and enjoys life! He likes to stretch his legs regularly, either in a yard or on a long walks, hiking, and even jogging next to a bicycle. But, he is not quite ready for a dog park. He also loves to sunbathe, pounce in baby pools, watch TV, and soak up the breeze on a car ride. He will sit, come, and shake like a champ for a treat, and is currently working on lying down. Noodle likes to feel safe and always enjoys a good hug, especially during rainstorms. He will give kisses on command with his spotty tongue and greet you joyfully when you come home, often with ear nibbles. He is both kennel and doggie-door trained. It's time for Noodle to go a forever home that will continue to spoil him with couch time and love. If you are interested in giving our boy a loving home, ($200 adoption donation), please fill out our application:http://www.povertyspets.org/availableanimals/adoptionform.html and we will get back to you upon receipt. Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Abused/Neglected

Hey all you German Shepherd lovers. Mia is looking for a new forever home. She is living with our family but is not getting along with another dog in our house. Mia is a BEAUTIFUL girl that wants to be the ONLY dog in the house. Adult home would be preferable as we don't know how she would do around small kids. She would make a wonderful protector and friend for the right home. Here are some details about her: *Mia is 5 years old, purebred papered German Shepherd, spayed. *Last visit to the vet she weighed 63 lbs. *She originally came from an abused home where she was kenneled all day, let out to go to the bathroom and when she barked the ... (Read More)owner beat her. She was removed by animal protection and if the owner had not been willing to give her up, he would have gone to jail. *She is still skittish and barks a great deal with new people. If you put her away and let her out after a bit, asking your guests to completely ignore her she eventually warms up and will go to them. *She is a loving affectionate dog and definitely protective of her home. If she hears a noise she will head out the dog door to investigate. She will follow you everywhere if you're at home and if allowed up on the furniture, is more than happy to snuggle in next to you. So if you have love in your heart and room in your home for this special girl who has had a rough past, let us know. Please contact us through this posting (Less)

Good thing I was found as I would have had puppies by now. I am good with other dogs but need to be fed separately as am protective of my food. A home where I am the only dog might be best for me. I love to go on hikes and have a lot of stamina so I could go on long hikes with you. I am good in the car and like to go for rides. I don't chew anything or dig. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our beautiful Nova is still looking for her furever home! Nova has been with the rescue for many months - since we rescued her from MCACC West here in Phoenix. Nova is only about 3 years old. She is a true velcro dog - and definitely a one person gal. She fixates on her person - she would love to have someone of her own to focus on. She especially likes women! Nova may take a little time to warm up to her person, but when she does that's it! Nova is fine with other dogs - she's part of the rescue house pack. She can get a little protective of her person with other dogs. Nova is very athletic and can jump pretty high. She is not crate ... (Read More)trained, but she does know her bed and can be given a command to go to her bed. She is housebroken. She enjoys toys, and can amuse herself with them. She's a pretty easy girl - and medium energy. She would do best in a home were someone is home a lot and can give her the attention she craves. She will need some practice on her leash skills. We would really love to see Nova get the home she is looking for.     We rescued Oscar back in Nov 2014 from MCACC West. Of course we post him from time to time, just to keep people posted on his progress, but we do think it is time for Oscar to have his OWN home. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lobos is a 3 year old German Shepherd Mix who is very energetic and has a lot of love to give. We caught Lobos before he was turned in to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. He was absolutely terrified and his owner was dragging him in on a rope. For an hour, he hid behind Casey, owner of SAIL Rescue, and tried to crawl into her lap the whole time she drove him home. It took a long time to get Lobos (his original name) to come out of his shell and come out of his shell he did! He is a typical German Shepherd and needs constant exercise and a firm hand. He is not a typical GSD in the fact that he LOVES other dogs. Small dogs are his ... (Read More)favorite! He is good friends with our little terrier Whiskey and they LOVE to play! He loves playing fetch, anything he can find, he'll fetch it for you! Lobos must be homed with an experienced handler and needs some extended training with someone familiar with the breed. He does NOT like being told what to do, so dedication, repetition and a firm hand are key. Lobos is potty trained, crate trained, prong collar trained and walks well on a leash. He loves to cuddle and would do best in a home with no children until he receives more training. Lobos is neutered, current on Rabies, 4-1 and Bordatella vaccines and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $100. (Less)
