Heidi a special needs dog that is very sweet but very skittish. She will warm up to her new owners very quickly and can even go out without a lead once she knows her person and is comfortable with them; Heidi is mostly house trained and great with other dogs and cats, as well as kids, but she needs a quiet home. She has separation anxiety so she would need to be crated when left alone or kept in a privacy fenced in yard- she can jump a chain link fence but she won't run off if she gets out. She is about 18 months old, spayed, and utd on shots.

I have gotten her back from the family that adopted her before. Due to her energy she jumped on the children and that scared the family. She loves to run and play and has lots of energy. She would be best with a male. This is the picture I took before when I rescued her...She is about 72 lbs now. and very healthy...Like I said she would be best with a man who could give her the time and love she needs. She is house broke, but stays in the garage at night and runs the yard during the day...There is a fee attached that I use to help rescue groups.

Don't you just love sweet little puppy boys...all soft and cuddly...who can't wait to snuggle and play with their new families? I am Cameron and I'm a yellow lab and shepherd mix....we think! They say I am just like my Mama....very sweet and loving. My Mama was found one cold, miserable day begging for food at a gas station way out in the country .... she was so hungry and emaciated. She had just had a litter of eight precious little puppies in January, 2014 (we were only about 2 weeks old) and she was desperate to find food so that she could nourish us. A Humane Society volunteer just happened to pull in.... she tried to approach my Mama ... (Read More)but she was so frightened. When she poured out some food, she couldn't resist her kindness. She loved on Mama and then took her right to the vets. And then, she got more volunteers and went to search for all eight of us puppies. Sometimes God sends angels to help his animals.....he did that day. Thankfully, she was able to see one of the other dogs who lived with us and locate our home. Ours was a very sad but loving home. Our owners had fallen on extremely hard times....they were struggling to provide food, not only for themselves, but three other dogs and two cats plus all eight puppies. They relinquished us to the shelter, knowing that we would be cared for with the promise of a forever home for us all. The nice shelter people also provided food for the other animals in the home. Now, it is time for all eight of us to find our forever homes. I bet when people see what cute little roly poly little fluff balls we are... well, they won't be able to resist us! Do you have a special spot in your heart and home for a cuddly little puppy boy...who can just snuggle right in and love you to pieces? I'm here... just waiting! (Less)

PEYTON Colors...lots and lots of colors! I have snow white, deep black and golden honey fur...so pretty! I am Peyton. I am a rather small shepherd and collie mix...now you understand why I have so many colors. I was born around November, 2012. I came to the shelter because my owner, my Dad, could no longer care for me. You see, he was a homeless man who had found me...a homeless puppy. He lovingly protected and cared for me; he shared what little bit of food he had with me and we were a 'family.' He loved me so and I loved him with all of my heart. We used to play together, snuggle at night to keep warm and we were such good company for ... (Read More)each other. We were living in a field....our only shelter was two boards that leaned on each other for a tiny bit of cover. I know that it broke his heart to surrender me to the shelter but he wanted me to have a chance for a real home, with a warm, dry bed, lots of food and a chance for security and a real family. His was the purest love - he gave me a chance at life. He taught me to be a good, loving boy and he knows that I will find a wonderful, loving home. I am Peyton, just waiting for you to come and take me home. I know how to love and be loved....and now I am ready for my new life and family. I'm going to live the dream that my Dad had for me....I'm going to be someone's very special puppy boy and live...happily ever after! (Less)

2/21/13 You don't just get the name Sweetheart for nothing! The name certainly fits this pretty little lady! Sweetheart is sugar and spice and everything nice wrapped up in one amazing doggie! She is a young adult, 1 1/2 to 2 years old and appears to be a shepherd/heeler mix. She was dumped at the shelter on a cold rainy night along with what we think is her son, Valentine. They arrived very clean and in great shape so we think someone just got tired of them. We can't see any other reason for them to be with us. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

My name is Jasmine. How do you spell 'grateful?' You spell it J-A-S-M-I-N-E ... that's me, JASMINE! I think I am the happiest, most grateful sweet girl you have ever met. I am a gorgeous strawberry blonde SHEPHERD-STAFFORDSHIRE terrier mix with a little white on my chest, a black muzzle, ears and eyeliner(!) and the most soulful brown eyes you have ever seen! I think I was born sometime in 2008. I was very, very sick and the wonderful Humane Society people rescued and loved me back to health. My best friend in the world, Juno ( Staffordshire mix, born in 2008) and I were all alone in the world. We were abandoned way out in the country, ... (Read More)lost with no hope of finding food, water, shelter or anyone to help us. We were so sick and malnourished that our immune systems were unable to fight off parasites that are normally natural and harmless in dogs. We had HUGE open wounds all over our bodies; they were so itchy that we scratched all of the time and this made everything even worse....many of our wounds were from the constant scratching. It hurt so much. We had lost a lot of our pretty fur and keeping warm became even more difficult. Our sores then got infected and the sores were so deep and raw... we were dying a very, very, slow, painful death of starvation, exposure and disease. One day we saw a white van and it slowed down and the man tried to coax us to come to him with some food. We were so afraid that we ran and hid...but he left us some food. The next day the man came back...we were still too afraid but he left us food again. He came back the third day and, again, tried to coax us to come to him. This time, so overwhelmed with hunger, we let him put us into his van. We didn't know he was from the Humane Society and that he was rescuing us...but we did feel relieved that we were now being cared for. We were so grateful that he was so patient and willing to keep coming back until he could rescue us... that's what the wonderful people at the shelter are like - loving, patient, and determined to rescue animals that need help. We were so relieved to be warm, dry, fed, and safe. They took us to the vets and they gave us lots of medicine. They kept us in their office where we had warm beds with soft blankets; it was so warm and clean and they talked to us all of the time. We had food every day, TREATS, and the itching gradually stopped and our wounds were lovingly cared for. We are now healing beautifully! We LOVE being cared for at the shelter.....people are so nice to us and they are so gentle and kind..... we didn't know that people could be like this! Our deep wounds have healed, our fur has grown back and we are healthy now. I never knew you could feel this good both on the inside and the outside! I heard them say that we are both ready for our forever loving homes with a family now. I don't know what a 'forever home' is nor what a 'family' is. I do know that having a warm, dry, bed inside is wonderful, a full tummy is so special, not itching is such a relief and people taking me for walks and loving on me is just... just.... just almost too much to believe. They say I LOVE ATTENTION AND AM SO FRIENDLY. I am calm, I walk nicely on a leash and will make a wonderful fur friend. I need time to warm up to strangers as I need reassurance that they will be my friend. I just know that I am such a happy, grateful sweet girl that loves everyone. They say I will do best with kids over 12 yrs of age. So, now you know how to spell 'grateful' - it is me, Jasmine. Healthy and happy and ready for my new forever family and home! I can't imagine that life can be any better than it is now but they say that when you come to get me and take me home....I will be in doggy heaven. Wow - me - Jasmine - will be in 'doggie heaven' at your house!! (Less)
