Rescue Me ID: 14-07-22-00038Lucky (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There was a lot of conversation on what mix of breeds Lucky is. We finally came up with a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix...with the help of a few vets and those familiar with different dog breeds. Lucky is just about 25 lbs at 9 months old with his full grown weight estimated to be about 35 lbs of sweetness and love. It seems that Lucky has been searching his entire life for a family to love him...he's just never had the good luck for that to happen. Farfel's rescuer in Texas recognized the goodness and wonderful potential that is living inside this young guy. We are committed to finding a home for Lucky that is very loving with clear ... (Read More)and consistent boundaries. He wants to please more than anything...and is so smart that he has the ability to pick up concepts almost immediately - he just needs to understand what is being asked of him. His family will be one with that is overflowing with love for this dog and can understand that he's a pup who is on his journey learning about the world. This would be a perfect time to introduce Lucky to positive reinforcement obedience class. He's a blank slate just waiting to be taught the skills of excellent behavior out in the community. Lucky will most likely be a bit shy initially...completely understandable after being on death row as such a young pup. But we are very sure that with kind words and patient understanding, he will become the most loyal companion around. Once he bonds , there is nothing in the world that will pull him away from his person or family. His love and gratitude boils over when he knows he's safe in expressing himself. Lucky would be so happy with a family that included him on hikes, camping and backpacking trips or just a walk around the neighborhood. He would also enjoy friendships with gentle dogs...he loves to play and cuddle with his canine friends. He won't disappoint because once he understood what is expected of him, no one will try harder than Lucky. Lucky is a lightly shedding guy (always far less with good nutrition, periodic baths and frequent brushing) and therefore is not recommended for those with severe allergy concerns. Lucky will be arriving on transport in Denver on 7/25. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this kind and devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Smilie was just saved from a high kill shelter in New Mexico. We believe she is a lab shepherd mix but this is an educated guess because she was a stray. She is about 1.5 years old and 45 pounds. She has only been in foster care for a short time but it is obvious she loves people and is eager to please. She also likes other dogs. Smilie is an energetic dog that loves to play. She will make a wonderful, fun addition to a family. She will be adopted out through Rez Dawg Animal Rescue. Her adoption includes her spay, vaccines, and deworming. Adoption application, home check, and adoption fee applies.

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-09-00132Sadie (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

All of the Farfel's Rescue employees and volunteers hi-fived each other when we got the news that Sadie the Standard Schnauzer/Shepherd puppy was safe! We had been on edge all day waiting for the word that this adorable and very sweet girl was out of the shelter and truly rescued. The part that was so sad is that Sadie, at only 11 weeks old, was about to be euthanized simply because the high-kill shelter had run out of cages. Sadie is a virtually perfect puppy and at barely 3 months old and 14 lbs (Sadie is expected to weigh about 45 - 50 lbs when full-grown) she deserves a great forever home that will give her an awesome start in life. ... (Read More)Sadie is a sweet and engaging puppy who loves other dogs and every human she's ever encountered. We would love Sadie's great temperament to be nurtured with loving yet clear guidelines through puppy socialization classes and Positive Reinforcement Obedience group class. She responds so well to boundaries that are clear and lovingly communicated. Sadie is a healthy and active young puppy who would be head over heels with joy to hike a Colorado trail and spend fun, outdoor time with her favorite people and canines. Sadie is a blank slate at this point.... just waiting to be taught appropriate behavior to be the greatest adult dog ever! She has the capability to truly shine if given huge amounts of love and recognition for great behavior. We are searching for a family that is motivated to spend the time necessary to housebreak and train this young pup with the amazing temperament....they will be rewarded a thousand times over with loyalty and devotion. We think Sadie would be very happy with either an active and involved retired couple (or individual) or a family that enjoys spending lots of quality time with their pup. She's great in the car and very excited to learn the socialization skills that will enable her to accompany her family virtually everywhere they go. Sadie appears to have picked up the Schnauzer gene and be a non-shedding pup...we'll really have to wait and see her adult coat. Sadie will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her coat shiny and healthy. She is not suggested for those with extremely severe allergy concerns. Sadie will be arriving on transport in Denver on 6/18. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and exceptional family companion. (Less)

Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Name: Charlie Breed: Rottweiler/Sheppard Mix Age: 9 yrs Weight: 88 lbs My name is Charlie and I am one mellow dude. In fact, some have been known to call me The Dude, his Dudeness, Duder, or El Duderino%BD'%BD|or maybe that's just what I call myself, but you get the idea. I like to hang out and CHILL. Back in my younger days (I'm around 6 now), I probably enjoyed running around and playing games and stuff, but these days I like more mellow activities and going with the flow. You want to go for a walk? That's cool. I like walks. You want to go for a drive? That's cool too, I like looking out the window. You want to hang out with ... (Read More)people, kids, or other dogs? That's fine with me. Everybody is a friend of the Dude. Sometimes I'll use my old man%BD'%BD|er, old dog, bark to tell the younger pups they need to chill out, but I never get too upset with them. I remember when I was a young pup causing a ruckus in the dog park! I've never been too into labels, but some have said I'm a Rottweiler mix due to my size (88 lbs, but the doc says I could stand to lose 10 lbs) and my handsome coloring. One thing is certain, I am a HANDSOME dude. Aside from hanging out, I'm also really good at sleeping and being alone in the house while people are away (which I guess is the same things as hanging out), watering the plants (that's a nice way of saying I'm potty trained) and chasing squirrels. I know a few fancy tricks like 'sit', how to come when I'm called and also walking like a champ while I'm on a leash (unless I see a squirrel or rabbit). So I'd love to meet you because I know we'd be buds and then we could hang-out and chill together, maybe for forever? Cool. If you want to hang out and be buds, just send the great people at Paws & Co. an email at pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or visit their website. Let's chill. (Less)

ROCKY is a great, big hunk of love that came from a local shelter. He was released to rescue because of separation anxiety.     Hi, We are Radar and Sydney! If you are looking to add a pair of delightful pre-loved doggies to your life, we would love to meet you. We are being rehomed by our owners because of severe dog allergies that have developed in the kids in our home. We are very much loved, and our owners are hoping to find us a home where we will be cherished as much as we are now. We are a male and female, healthy, neutered and spayed, and up to date on our shots. We are both very well behaved and get along with other dogs famously. Cats are probably not a good match for us. Although we are getting on in years, we are very loving and have a lot to offer. ... (Read More)We are cuddle muffins, and are especially good at making you feel important and loved. We both ADORE children! Kids are our favorite people, and we are very patient and gentle with them. We are both housetrained and have also had obedience training.     Meet our rescue dog, Popeye! He is a sweet, two year old Shepherd/American Bulldog mix waiting for his forever home. Popeye gets along with other dogs incredibly well. He has not been observed around cats or young children yet. Popeye knows the commands: 'Sit', 'Come' and 'Lay Down' already and is a very smart guy. Popeye is is very playful and could snuggle with your until your heart's content. He is not shy, nor is he protective over his food. Popeye has never shown aggression while in foster care towards people or over food. Popeye loves, loves, LOVES squeaky toys!! He likes bones too and playing tug of war. He licked peanut butter of his ... (Read More)foster mom's finger very gently, but he can be rough with toys when excited. Popeye does not like the sounds of thunder, vacuums or weed whackers. He will hide under blankets when he is scared! He tolerated a bath perfectly the first day he came home from the shelter. Popeye will do anything for a snuggle. He does not like to be yelled at (who does?) and feels guilty very easily. He's a silly guy and likes to spread his foster mom's shoes around the house, though he does not chew on them! He is house trained. Popeye needs a playful home as he is still young. His tail is rather strong and never stops wagging, so he needs to be careful around small kids. Popeye has a lot of energy and really likes to play with other dogs. If you'd like to meet Popeye, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $175 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals.
