She is a Black lab mix with heeler, german shepherd, and other breeds. She weighs around 80lb and is very loving and friendly inside dog. She is kennel trained and sleeps with owner. She is a great watch dog. She needs to find a new safe home. We have had her since she was a puppy, but are now having trouble with finding a place for her to live. Someone living alone would have a great companion. She is good with a couple and another male dog. Large breed only would be fine. She is smart and learns quickly.

This Shepherd/Greyhound mix is about 2 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. She is very slender and has just the most beautiful face and smile. She was saved from our local animal control after her owners never came looking for her even though she was microchipped. Everyone at the shelter commented on what a sweet girl she is and we knew we had to save her! She gets along well with other dogs, likes kids and walks well on a leash. We are so excited to find this lovely girl a family that will truly appreciate how wonderful she is! She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. We will be at the Petsmart in Glendale, CO on August ... (Read More)23rd and she would love to have her forever family there ready to show her some love!      am looking for a very loving owner for a very special German Shepherd I rescued a couple years ago. She is such a wonderful companion (I wish I could keep her but I have two dogs.). Her owner has a beautiful farm out in the country but is terminally ill with just a month or so to live. She is beautiful, a full-bred long hair german shepherd, house broken, smart, loyal, obedient, protective and very loving. Spayed, heart worm negative, healthy, shots current, about 7 yrs old. She is good with children and best with women. Men take her about a week to trust. Her only fault is that she has 'food aggression' so she should not live with other ... (Read More)dogs. (Less)

Name: Bella Anne (a.k.a. Bella) Breed: Doberman/Shepherd mix Gender: Female Age: 1.5 years old Weight: 50 lbs. Meet Bella Anne! Hi! Hi! Hi! How are you today? What are you up to? Wanna play?! Oh wait, maybe I should introduce myself first'| My name is Bella! You'll have to excuse my excitement. I am just ecstatic about life! So let's get my basic info out of the way so we can get to know each other: I'm about 1.5 years old, I have short black and tan fur, I'm a Doberman/Shepherd mix, and - most importantly - I am looking for my furever home! Now on to the fun stuff! I absolutely LOVE to play! I'm super active and love being outside ... (Read More)(perfect for Colorado), especially when there are tons of toys for me to play with. Oh and I'm not at all picky about my toys. I'm entertained by pretty much anything, so I might need a little help distinguishing what's OK to play with and what's not. Don't worry though; I'm a really fast learner. I already know how to sit. If a treat is involved, you can probably teach me anything! As long as I'm moving, I'm grooving! I get pretty excited when I'm on my leash - obviously, walks are SUPER fun! - so I might need a little training in that area. I like when my foster mom brings her dog on walks with me. I just follow his lead and I do just fine! I haven't had the chance to meet any 'kids' or 'cats', but I'm pretty sure I'd do well with older kids who would like to play with me. However, my energetic personality might be a little much for cats. Strangely, I actually like my crate too! I sleep in there at night, spend the day in it while the humans are at 'work', and I'll even go in there on my own to chew my toys or take a nap. I know where to go to the bathroom, as well, and I don't mind using it one bit because that just means I get to go outside again! Even though I am quite the looker, right now I have some skin growths on my face - they're not contagious or harmful, and I'm getting them treated as we speak so hopefully they will be gone soon! Now that you know a little about me, if I sound the loving, active lady that you've been missing in your life, please email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an adoption application on the PawsCo website today! CAN WE GO PLAY NOW?! Hehe. (Less)

Freedom is an intelligent dog who would do well with training. He is an indoor dog. He would probably do well at becoming your hiking partner. I can also see Freedom as becoming a hunting companion. A large yard and/or plenty of exercise is needed. Freedom does well with older children. Small children and small pets are not ideal.

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-24-00694Phoebe (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Hi, my name is Phoebe, and I am a female Shepherd/Chow mix. My foster Mom says I am a blast, and she marvels at my playfulness. As you can see in my videos, I LOVE to play in the water! I like to dive and put my head right in the water while playing. Apparently I have medium energy, and I overheard my foster mom saying I have the cutest floppy front feet. I can sometimes be a little persistent when I want to play with other dogs, even if the other dogs are not so inclined to rough house as much as I do. I'm learning commands such as: down, sit, stay and wait. I'm also learning to walk well on a leash. I learn quickly and desire to please! I ... (Read More)am very much a lap dog, and I love to be held, so if you like that too, we will be a great match (though I am a larger-sized dog). I am very affectionate with my people, though sometimes I may playfully nip at young kids to get them to play... which isn't always taken the way I mean it! I focus very well and love to be with people, so I would be a great dog for someone who needs a dog 24/7. I am working on becoming house and crate trained. Please fill out an online app if you'd like to meet me! Adoption fee is $225 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter.     Smilie was just saved from a high kill shelter in New Mexico. We believe she is a lab shepherd mix but this is an educated guess because she was a stray. She is about 1.5 years old and 45 pounds. Smilie loves people and is eager to please. She also likes other dogs. Smilie is an energetic dog that loves to play but she settles down just fine and is a very good girl in her kennel. She will make a wonderful, fun addition to a family! She will be adopted out through Rez Dawg Animal Rescue. Her adoption includes her spay, vaccines, deworming, heartworm test, and microchip. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

All of the Farfel's Rescue employees and volunteers hi-fived each other when we got the news that Sadie the Standard Schnauzer/Shepherd puppy was safe! We had been on edge all day waiting for the word that this adorable and very sweet girl was out of the shelter and truly rescued. The part that was so sad is that Sadie, at only 11 weeks old, was about to be euthanized simply because the high-kill shelter had run out of cages. Sadie is a virtually perfect puppy and at barely 3 months old and 14 lbs (Sadie is expected to weigh about 45 - 50 lbs when full-grown) she deserves a great forever home that will give her an awesome start in life. ... (Read More)Sadie is a sweet and engaging puppy who loves other dogs and every human she's ever encountered. We would love Sadie's great temperament to be nurtured with loving yet clear guidelines through puppy socialization classes and Positive Reinforcement Obedience group class. She responds so well to boundaries that are clear and lovingly communicated. Sadie is a healthy and active young puppy who would be head over heels with joy to hike a Colorado trail and spend fun, outdoor time with her favorite people and canines. Sadie is a blank slate at this point.... just waiting to be taught appropriate behavior to be the greatest adult dog ever! She has the capability to truly shine if given huge amounts of love and recognition for great behavior. We are searching for a family that is motivated to spend the time necessary to housebreak and train this young pup with the amazing temperament....they will be rewarded a thousand times over with loyalty and devotion. We think Sadie would be very happy with either an active and involved retired couple (or individual) or a family that enjoys spending lots of quality time with their pup. She's great in the car and very excited to learn the socialization skills that will enable her to accompany her family virtually everywhere they go. Sadie appears to have picked up the Schnauzer gene and be a non-shedding pup...we'll really have to wait and see her adult coat. Sadie will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her coat shiny and healthy. She is not suggested for those with extremely severe allergy concerns. Sadie will be arriving on transport in Denver on 6/18. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and exceptional family companion. (Less)

Meet our rescue dog, Popeye! He is a sweet, two year old Shepherd/American Bulldog mix waiting for his forever home. Popeye gets along with other dogs incredibly well. He has not been observed around cats or young children yet. Popeye knows the commands: 'Sit', 'Come' and 'Lay Down' already and is a very smart guy. Popeye is is very playful and could snuggle with your until your heart's content. He is not shy, nor is he protective over his food. Popeye has never shown aggression while in foster care towards people or over food. Popeye loves, loves, LOVES squeaky toys!! He likes bones too and playing tug of war. He licked peanut butter of his ... (Read More)foster mom's finger very gently, but he can be rough with toys when excited. Popeye does not like the sounds of thunder, vacuums or weed whackers. He will hide under blankets when he is scared! He tolerated a bath perfectly the first day he came home from the shelter. Popeye will do anything for a snuggle. He does not like to be yelled at (who does?) and feels guilty very easily. He's a silly guy and likes to spread his foster mom's shoes around the house, though he does not chew on them! He is house trained. Popeye needs a playful home as he is still young. His tail is rather strong and never stops wagging, so he needs to be careful around small kids. Rescue Me ID: 14-04-27-00496Bo (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

***PENDING ADOPTION*** Meet Bo! He was rescued from a shelter and is settling into foster care in the Colorado mountains. Bo seems a little scared and introverted at first. Once he realizes that you are on his side, he adores you! Bo is a real lover and one of the most loyal dogs someone could ask for! He loves to hike and run, but he is still a mellow guy. Bo hasn't had any issues with people, other than barking at new comers and shying away. Bo is very well-behaved. He will come right to you and sit at your feet when you call. He will go to your side when you point for him to 'heel' on a walk. He likes other dogs a lot. Bo was slightly ... (Read More)protective of his foster mom when a male Great Dane came near them, but he only gave non-aggressive warning mumbles. He does 'sit' and 'shake' very well. Bo listens incredibly and will go outside, do his thing and come directly back. Bo does have some confidence issues, but it doesn't take much to see the proud handsome guy that he is. Bo wears his heart on his sleeve and is an emotional fella. He is also really smart but seems scared to mess up. He has not been left home alone yet, so we are not sure how he is unsupervised. Bo does nip when he gets super excited and is in a playful mood or feels his herding instincts kick in. He nipped his foster mom in the leg when they were cross country skiing downhill because he was very excited to see her moving at his speed! It was not painful, but Bo should go to a home without young children since they could spark his herding instincts. He would be great with a couple who is interested in a dog who needs loads of affection and daily exercise. He attaches easily and is sensitive to any criticism. Bo does bark, but that may change once his surroundings are familiar. Bo goes to work with his foster mom at a shop and has met several customers coming into 'his space'. He warmed up quickly after some barking. He is slightly shyer around men. Bo can be clumsy on a snowy hike and could be a very athletic dog after some practice. Bo's biggest need in a forever home would be unconditional love and affection. Bo is not a 'walk around the block' kind of dog. He needs a daily 30-minute hike/walk or dog park session. He needs leash training and can be strong on leash, though he is not uncontrollable. Bo loves car rides! He will sit in a car if the door is open and just wait for you to go! Bo is a perfect-sized active dog with colorful paws, a Lab face and long legs. He's adorable! If you would like to meet Bo, please fill out an online app today! Adoption fee of $175 covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals.     1yr old Male German Shepard/Husky mix by the name of Dozzer in need of a new loving home. He has all his shots and is neutered. Unfortunately circumstances dictate that we must find a new home for our dog. My wife works long 12hr days at a time on a regular basis. I work long days overnight 5 days a week. Because of this we no longer have the time to invest in this fun dog. It was a hard decision, but it's just not fair to them to have to sit cooped up at home alone. IT IS GOING TO TAKE A KIND APPROACH FOR HIM TO NOT BE AFRAID OF YOU SINCE HE IS VERY PROTECTIVE OF US FROM STRANGERS. I had someone try and take him and the meeting did not go ...     GUARDIAN is a young German Shepherd mix that arrived in Denver the last week of March. He was an owner surrender from Houston (he kept getting out, but wasn't neutered - duh). This is a beautiful boy and super sweet. He walks great on a leash - he is very light on his feet and sometimes gets happy feet - he likes it here in Colorado. He is also very good in the car. Guardian would be a wonderful family dog. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and is currently being treated for low positive heartworms. Adoption fee $150.
