Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is Honey. I am Shepherd mix and I am 2 years old. I'm a little nervous when I first meet people, but I warm up quickly. I do great on a leash and do great with other dogs. I am very affectionate and love to cuddle and give hugs. I am small enough to do well in an apartment or a house. I would probably do well with kids, but I haven't been tested. I am learning my basic commands and am picking them up quickly. I like going on walks and going to the park and I do well when left alone. If you would like to meet me please contact No Hound Unhomed at 719-244-2208 or come meet me at Camp Bow Wow Colorado Springs Central.

Karrah 2 year old German Shepherd SPAYED Female This beautiful 2 year old Sheppard was just surrendered by her owner because he was being deployed overseas. She is a sweet and loyal girl. She needs an adopter who is consistent with taking her out on a leash as she can scale 8ft chain link and is smart enough to open her kennel at the shelter. She is reportedly housebroken. She is good with larger dogs when tested but was 'too interested' by cats and small dogs. She needs to gain confidence when walking with other dogs as she can curiously bark at them as they pass although is fine after that initial period. She is very eager to please but ... German Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi..I'm Darby, a female shepherd/spaniel mix. My age is just a number, as I don't act my age. I'm currently living with my foster mom and her 2 bearded collies. I lived with a small dog and a cat before moving to this temporary home. My foster mom says: It took Darby about a day to feel really comfortable and she has adjusted well to my home. So much so that when I get home from work I always know where to find her ----- on the bed in the guest room. Now I've had many dogs but I will say that she has the best manners I've ever seen. Quiet, biddable, clean, affectionate and just a joy to have around. I am always surprised at her age ... (Read More)because there are times when she is like a puppy. She plays with my dogs and she and I have a tag contest. Her spirit is great and I'm amazed at her physicality, she runs like he wind. She is always within 10 feet of me and reacts with affection when I pet her. She is incredibly smart. She is a great passenger in the car. The other day my dog turned to her and kissed her on the face while they were waiting to get cookies...she was happy to receive his attention. If Darby sounds like a fit for you/your life, please contact Safe Place for Pets, as she is waiting to move to her new forever home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-22-00421Farley (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely sweet and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their temperaments, intelligence and loving ways. Since this breed mix requires exercise and love being with their people...if a hike or outdoor fun is the order of the day - count them in! These mixes are known to run joyfully and energetically through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans. Farley's current foster had the following to say about this loyal and devoted dog: Farley is so funny and ... (Read More)chock-full of character. His silly antics make us laugh. He sleeps in funny positions that we call doggie yoga. He is so happy in the mornings, wagging his tail, ready for his breakfast and morning walk/play/training time. He waits politely for his dinner and will only eat after the Okay signal. He is so smart and is a good problem solver! He learned how to open doors (look out stuffed animals!!) But after a few corrections he stopped! :) He waits politely at doors when coming inside and out. He knows obedience commands like sit, down, shake, lay, and roll over. We are working on stay and come while distracted. In addition we have been working on impulse control with leave it and look games. He is doing really well with drop it and leave it too. We can put a piece of cheese on his paw and say wait and he will wait until you give him the okay signal. He plays fetch indoors perfectly, but gets distracted outside. Farley walks on a leash with a gentle leader very well. He initially had a hard time (understandably) with barking dogs behind their fences, so now when we walk past some rude dogs he will not bark or lunge, but look to me for treats, and stay focused on me. I am very proud of him for the improvement he has made in this area. He loves his blanket and carries it with him from room to room. He does not like his crate, but does well in his indoor/outdoor kennel and dog run. He is not afraid of construction noise, thunder, or fireworks. He is happiest being near his adult people. Farley is a wonderful being who is still just a puppy at about 10 months old and 65 lbs (expected to be full-grown at about 68 - 70 lbs. As such, he could be so successful with a savvy dog-person who has the time and energy to work with Farley to bring out his wonderful traits. His foster has come such a long way with Farley...we'd like to see his training continued to bring out his full potential. In his puppyish style, Farley can be mouthy when he perceives its playtime. He can be diverted by someone who wants to put effort in...some treats and commands and he's learned to self-correct. Farley, like most puppies, is a blank slate that requires kind input and leadership to understand how to make his way in the world. . He seems to be leaving behind the lack of love and commitment that made up his early life and is ready to love and learn proper behavior. His time spent in a high-kill shelter with -Euthanasia Pending- on his cage didn't deprive Farley of his hope that someday a special family would choose him. He was being put to sleep because he had baby dermatitis due to fleas and filth...but in the end, he prevailed...and through the repeated efforts of Texas rescuers, Farley earned his ticket to Colorado. Since leaving the shelter, Farley has become a very huggable ball of shining fur with downy hair replacing the bald spots he used to have. We would like to see Farley in a home that has him involved in training and activities...he will thrive in an adult environment that truly loves him and considers him a very important part of the family. Farley would be an exceptional companion for savvy retirees who know the nature of dogs, enjoy training and have the time to bring out the best qualities of this pup with so much potential. Farley would be so happy with a job...it would speak to his working dog side that feels so proud when he's accomplished a hard day's work. Long hikes and backyard fun would also truly speak to his nature. Farley is being fostered in Denver. Meet and Greets are being set up and applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this happy and fun-loving companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. We think she is mixed with a German Shepherd (maybe white) because she is so attentive. Litsey is high energy and will need an active family or individual who has a fenced in yard for ... Health: Neutered

Hello, I'm Kevin. I'm an 8 month old pup! I was rescued with my sister Koda. I am cautious when meeting new people, especially new adult males, but will warm up once I feel comfortable. I am fairly active and need daily exercise. My training is in progress. ... (Read More)I am potty trained and working on leash training/ wearing a harness. I will go in my crate on command.
