Rescue Me ID: 17-01-17-00091Lady (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our Lady is a gracious Queen, who just lost her King. She was surrendered to us with her life long housemate, who recently had a stroke, and passed. Lady is feeling the loss, and would love to be part of family again. Seven years young, Lady's options are limited because it seems, as though everybody wants to experience puppy hell, and too few people appreciate the considerable benefits of having an older dog, who is well past the puppy mayhem stage. Lady appears to be a mix of Yellow Labrador and Shepherd. She is a large dog, weighing 50 pounds, but could stand to trim down a bit through healthy diet and exercise. Her short flat coat is ... (Read More)easy to groom, and is mostly tan with cream markings on her face and feet. Lady seems more like Yellow Lab in personality, in that she seems laid back, demure, and enjoys the companionship of her people. She seems to have a slight sadness about her, and is likely feeling confused and disoriented with the rescue process. Lady has a very genial nature. She is a sociable dog, and while she has not had much background in obedience, she has grasped the basics and seems to enjoy the training exercises. She certainly is food motivated. Lady is easy to walk on lead, and has a moderate exercise level, although that could increase as she loses weight. Lady would be happy with a couple of leisurely to brisk leash daily, and a game of frisbee. Lady would be a great choice for a moderately active single or couple, a recent retiree or senior. She could easily do well in an apartment lifestyle, and can be trusted home alone for short periods of time. She would really prefer a home where she is the only dog and can absorb all of her owner's attention. Lady could join an active family with older kids, but we think that she might be intimidated by the haphazard handling of young toddlers. Lady is a pretty good all-around companion dog, and needs to be in an environment where her golden years will be spent as the light of someone's life, rather than considered an afterthought. Lady has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. She is in great health and has been spayed. She is slightly chubby and would be at an ideal weight of 40 to 45 pounds. We recommend a grain free kibble diet with added Omega fats and nutritious natural treats like pieces of apple, veggies etc. Lady has been vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitus, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza, coronavirus), and she has been boostered as needed. She has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been dewormed, microchipped and is on preventatives for Heartworm and Flea/Tick. If you are interested in Lady, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-07-00073Mush (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Our lovable Mush is a striking beauty. This lanky fellow joined us recently from a local Animal Shelter, after Police Officers found him roaming the neighborhood. After all attempts were made to find Mush's owner, our Shelter contacts asked for our help in finding him a 'Forever' home. Mush looks like a Husky, but we wouldn't be surprised if he has a tiny bit of German Shepherd in his DNA mix. He is a tall, leggy dog, weighing 48 pounds. Despite the slightly squared jowel that make us think GSD, Mush has the classic Husky stance and appearance, with medium hazel colored eyes. His soft, plush coat is lemon colored with white markings. He is ... (Read More)a shedder, and will require regular brushing although probably not the services of a professional groomer. Mush has a delightful personality, and is surprisingly friendly, mild mannered, and easy to handle for any kind of Husky. He doesn't seem to have the aloof quality that we sometimes see in Siberian Huskies. Two years old, he has a playful energetic puppy vibe, and would be an all-around good family dog. Mush is best served by Husky savvy adopters, who understand how to instruct strangers to interact with him. While Mush is generally appreciative of affection, he has shown signs of impatience with the overzealous touch of novice dog folks. Mush would thrive in the active home of a single or couple, who can provide the daily activity that he needs to be happy. He is an athletic dog, with a moderate energy level, who requires a couple of vigorous leash walks a day, as well as focused playtime and ongoing obedience training. He would make the ideal running, walking or hiking companion. He has excellent stamina and endurance. He enjoys the company of other dogs, and could easily join a multi-dog home with other well mannered dogs, and he is good-natured enough to tolerate cats with proper supervision. Mush has the ideal temperament to excel in the Canine Good Citizen program. He has done well in his beginning obedience training, and responds well to both treat and praise positive reinforcent training techniques. Adopters should be able to handle him easily at first meeting, and we hope will continue Mush on his path to CGC certification. Mush has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He is in good health after treatment for intestinal parasites, and is just slightly under weight at 48 pounds, but he is eating well and gaining nicely. His ideal weight would probably be about 55 pounds. Mush has been recently neutered, has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus), and canine flu. He has been boostered as needed. He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed.     Hi! My name is Zeke and I have the gentlest soul! I'm a 2-year German Shepherd mix and weigh about 50lbs. Despite being dumped by my previous owner, I've never given up on my love of life. I love everyone: people and dogs of all sizes, plus I'm good with cats! I could play all day with people or other dogs, but I also love to get belly rubs and cuddle up after a long day of playing. I'm incredibly smart - I'm already house-trained and could easily learn how to use a doggie-door. I make a wonderful outdoor companion, so if you're looking for someone to run, walk, camp, or hike with, I'm DEFINITELY your guy! Zeke currently lives in a foster ...     Maui is a big, goofy purebred American White Shepherd. He is loving but doesn't know his own size, he always wants to play and be rewarded. Unfortunately I have no time for him and he always wants to tear a part our other male dog. He used to be my mother's dog but she got divorced with my father. I cannot hold him back and he has some issues, I am sure he could be trained. I do not want to be responsible if he bites someone, when my mother used to drive around with her bad anxiety attacks Maui changed (she always took him every where she went and falsely registered him as a service dog). He's already bitten a couple people trying to protect ... (Read More)her. I just need someone who understands male German Shepherds and who can handle a 100 lb+ dog. (Less)
