Rescue Me ID: 15-09-01-00449Kiki (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our family rescued Kiki from a kill shelter in April. She is a beautiful 1.5 year old purebred female German Shepherd. She is amazing with kids and humans. She is trained on every command: Sit, Here, Down, Leave It, Gentle. She is smart and eager to please. She is so loving and cuddly, the best dog I have ever owned. Unfortunately, Kiki has a very high prey drive, and we didn't know this when we rescued her. We have five cats in our home and she would like to have her way with them if we let her. Also, she is being aggressive with our other dog. She goes to doggie camp and gets along with all the dogs there, and we take her swimming ... (Read More)in a lake and also plays well with those dogs, it's just in our home where she is aggressive with our one dog. Thus, we have to find her a new amazing owner. And we think it best she be the only dog, or at least, no other female dog. (Less)

What does Odie Mean? Odie is an Old English name that means inspiration or to inspire. Odie was sentenced to die, as his time was up at the local pound in Louisiana. Fortunately for him; he was pulled and has a second lease on life. His foster tells us it is as if we he 'knew' his time was up, and has become eternally grateful. Odie is a 9 month old male GSD mix and weighs in at around 32 lbs.

Personality: Low Energy
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

This is Lily. What a great dog she is! She is a Red Dobi mix with the sweetest temperament! She is about 8 1/2 years old and if the owner hadn't had her as a puppy, I'd never believe it! Unfortunately her owner is an older gentleman with a bad knee and can no longer give Lily the exercise she needs. He absolutely adores this dog and its going to break his heart parting with her but he knows its in her best interest. She still has the energy of a younger dog (likes to play) but walks like a dream! I watched her and her owner walking down the street to get the paper and she was very considerate of the older gentleman and did not pull...in ... German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Justin is a yellow Labrador Retriever mix, approximately 3 years and 65 pounds. Justin is a handsome Labbie boy who's very attentive, smart, and affectionate with people. Justin would love a dog-experienced pack leader who loves an intelligent dog that thrives on a mantra of 'exercise, discipline, and then affection' (words and wisdom from The Dog Whisperer). Justin does know several commands well from his foster home including sit, stay, and give paw. He loves to walk on lead, ride in the car, and lay by your side for pets. Justin has been fostered with, and enjoys other dogs large and small, but no alpha dogs please. In a dog pack, Justin ... (Read More)will naturally become the alpha dog. He has also been fostered with cats, but enjoys chasing, so a home without cats would be ideal. Justin is very affectionate, house trained and crate trained. His activity level is medium. Justin would be best suited for a dog-experienced family with older kids or an individual. Justin was rescued from a high-kill animal shelter 'just in time' and therefore, his name, Justin. He was picked up sadly as a stray as are so many, and he's been searching and waiting for his new best friend, pack leader, and forever home since his rescue; for one special family, Justin is wagging at you! For additional information about Justin #4 please email Edee Fuller at fullerbarnett@gmail.com. Justin #4 is being fostered in Connecticut! (Less)

Faith is 8 months old and simply the sweetest little girl. She weighs 30 pounds and is BLIND, but you would never know it. She has gotten the lay of my house and backyard and moves around effortlessly. Very social for a blind girl and she loves to play. She will happily play alone for hours with her toys. She gets along great with other dogs and, although initially frightened when meeting new people, she warms up to them rather quickly. She is afraid of loud cars, lawnmowers etc,. probably due to her life on the streets. Overall, she is such a LOVE and will fit into an active family's home.     LIFE OR DEATH Which one lives and which one doesn't? Saving dogs that are heartworm positive leaves only two choices, life or death. If the HW's are not treated, the dog will not survive. Paying for the treatment is a huge financial burden and rescues don't know if the dog is HW positive until after the dog is taken into their program. Then the choice for the rescue becomes ominous, either find the money to treat the dog or face a heartbreaking decision. If you can't donate, we certainly understand. However, could you pretty please cross-post this message to just one other person that might be able to help? Our faces below would greatly ... (Read More)appreciate it and it would make a difference between death of heart-worms or life. A link below will take you to our fundraising website where we tell each of their stories and have photos of each dog. These faces of 11 sweet souls who tested positive for Heartworm can't live without treatment. They have been saved instead of euthanized because this disease CAN be treated. All of our funds for medical expenses have been exhausted. We need your help to pay for their treatment and recovery so ALL 5 dogs can live the lives they deserve for another ten to twelve years. PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN AND PASS THE MESSAGE ON TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COWORKERS Here is the link to our online fundraiser, it is easy to use and we will continue to do updates on all the dogs till they are in their fur-ever home. https://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/saving-dogs-life-or-death/333104 (Less)
