German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Vaccinations Current

Shiner is hands down the sweetest dog I have ever met. He is always wagging his tail and cuddling up. He is very playful and always up for a walk! Sometimes he can be shy when he's in a new environment, but will give you lots of attention and kisses to tell you how grateful he is for your love! Shiner is currently in a foster home in Texas. If you choose to adopt him, he will be transported using Rescue Road Trips. The transportation fee is included in the adoption fee. Many dogs in Texas are euthanized everyday for lack of space.     Unique is the word that comes to mind when one is describing our newest ward Mr. Potter. This young man is a Dutch/German mix, cute, lovable, happy, funny and weird looking. You see we can find the Dutch shepherd and the German shepherd in him but it looks like mom may have compromised her morals on her night on the town because there is something more in there. Whatever the case our boy Potter is about as sweet as they come, is about 10-12 months in age, is black/tan/ red and brindle in color and weighs in at about 50 pounds.     If you look up 'German Shepherd' I am pretty sure that the picture on the cover will look just like our boy Liam. This guy is absolutely perfect in look, symmetry, gait, size, breed definition and intellect. The only problem Liam had was a terrible owner who knew nothing of the breed and tried training him through heavy handed techniques leaving him confused and un-trusting. Upon Liam's rescue from this situation we saw dramatic improvement quickly, he embraced us with all the vigor and love that you could possibly expect.     Mr. Simon! 65 pounds of wide open, full battle rattle, 8 month old German shepherd puppy, complete with no off switch and a PhD. In 'un-fixing'. Simon approaches life with complete abandon, head long into whatever the day brings, to say our boy is a happy young man would be a gross understatement. This guy the very definition of all things German shepherd puppy; if it moves chase it, if it stands still play with it, if it smells Rollin it and if it is wet and muddy bring it home to momma.     When it comes to MS Heidi only one word will suffice, stunning. This girl is without a doubt one of the most beautiful examples of the German shepherd breed that I have encountered in some time but what do you expect, she is Hans's mother. MS Heidi is 30 months old, has a wonderful classic black and tan coat, has a perfect gait, has perfect symmetry and weighs in at 70-75 pounds.     He is big, he is hansom, and he laid back and he is young, what more of an introduction you can give a magnificent German shepherd. This guy is named Hans, a German shepherd male, 1 year old, black and red coat, 80 pounds, truly a super specimen of the breed. Hans is fairly laid back for a male this age but I think stems from a strong confidence in himself, he has an air of authority about him. Socialization and training has been a yawning experience for him, he picks up everything almost instantly. This young man is a black and red, male , German shepherd that is 3 years old and weighs in at 90 pounds ( soon to be 80 pounds ). Rex is without a doubt one of the most affectionate GSD's you will ever encounter, he loves all things human and quite frankly thinks he is a lap dog.     Our German shepherd rescue is extremely proud to announce Ms. Jewell is now available for adoption. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This pretty girl is Marley. She is a sweet 1 year old shepherd mix. Marley warms up slowly and has a cat like aloofness going on. When she wants attention she will come up for it and when not, she likes to be on her own or in the yard (weather permitting of course!). Therefore she isn't always a cuddle bug and we don't know if this would change over in safe and secure surroundings. She seems to be a natural watch dog, not necessarily 'guarding' but will bark to alert you. Marley will make a great dog for a family with older children and she is good with other dogs. Marley is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, micro chipped ... (Read More)all which is included in her adoption fee of $170. She is currently in a shelter in the high kill state of Texas but looking for her loving forever home in the East. We transport our dogs bi-monthly via Rescue Road Trips. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-28-00226Marley (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our 60-pound country girl, Marley, has the disposition of her namesake with none of the quirky antics. Marley has just graduated 'boot camp' and is ready to assume her rightful position as a valued family member. Our version of boot camp is a 4-6 week stay at a local volunteer's property where the shelter dogs can be assessed and problem areas addressed. When Marley first arrived, she could not navigate a steep set of stairs (challenging to some humans, too) and would wait for the foster to come get her when going either up or down. Now she flies up and down the stairs with ease. After playing outside, she comes in the house, goes ... (Read More)immediately to her blanket and settles down to watch TV. Marley is about 3 yrs old , is UTD on all shots, and is HW negative. She is good on a leash, likes to ride in the car and absolutely ADORES swimming. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and even seems to have a calming influence on them, as she is quiet and rarely barks. She is housebroken and seems to respond well to commands. In fact, the foster said she actually does better when given a command, as if she prefers instruction. We are hoping Marley can find a home with someone who is active and likes to exercise. She would dearly love a visit to the beach or lake and would probably have no hesitation with a swimming pool. We can test her in both areas if that is an issue for a potential adopter. If you think Marley should be your calming influence, please copy and attach this link to your web browser to fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html.     UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER: Howdy, from Louisiana! This is Kristi - Venus's foster mom. I have sweet, sweet Venus. She has gained a little weight but is in really good health. I got tickled at her one evening at feed time. Our routine is for me to open the gate to the back yard at which point Venus and her foster sisters Beth and Sally (now adopted) run for their pen where their food is waiting. This particular evening I only counted 2 dogs at the gate. Then I heard a whimper. It was Venus - she was on an old trampoline that the dogs play on. The chair she used to climb on the trampoline was turned over on its side so she could not get down. I ... (Read More)rescued her and she ran to the pen with her sisters to eat. She is such a sweet, loving dog. She likes to run and play but when she gets tired she finds a quiet dog house to get in to relax. Another funny thing is the day Venus and her foster siblings were chasing birds in the back yard. The birds would fly over the yard and the dogs would run from side to side trying to catch them probably hoping one would land in the yard. No such luck. They did get plenty of exercise, though. Venus is a great dog and I love her so much. She deserves a home of her own. She will make some lucky family a great new addition. Venus was a little shy and timid towards me at first but now she comes to me on her own for me to pet her and love on her. She plays very good with her foster brothers and sisters. She does not play as rough as they do so she will back off after a few minutes to play by herself. Venus is a good name for her because just like the Roman goddess of the same name, she is all about love. She likes to give 'kisses' to her foster brother Job. Even though Job is older and crankier, Venus does not let that stop her. I call Job Venus' boyfriend. Venus is such a good, little dog. Sometimes I pick her up and put her in my lap for a few minutes which she does not seem to mind. Venus has never given me any trouble other than trying to dig in the backyard. I know that any family who adopted her would be more than happy with her. (Less)

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant

Sara is a young adult female shepherd mix available for adoption. We love to watch her bounce around the yard tossing her favorite toys around for herself.Sara does not like all other dogs but does do well with other mellower dogs.Sara is a high energy girl who would do best with a large fenced in yard or regular long walks. She would thrive with someone or a family with previous experience owning a dog. She is up to date on her shots & spayed. Sara is crated and clicker trained and often works on improving her obedience skills. Sara is a lady willing to please who just needs a little direction.
