Animal ID: 7623Evanescence (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Meet Evanescence! She is a 2 year old shepherd mix with a beautiful brindle coat and about 45lbs. She has only been with OPH a few days and has been great with the dogs and people she's met -- including at a busy adoption event. She's been outgoing, curious, and active. She also knows how to lounge about. She's a super sweet girl who is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. She is getting settled in, working on her new bone, and getting to know her foster family. So far we're off to a good start: she did great in the car, has done her business outdoors, will sit for a treat, and even tolerates the crate. We're so looking forward to getting ... (Read More)to know her more. Aren't you? Apply to adopt today! Evanescence tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat her and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH's heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. (Less)
