Animal ID: 14-09-04-00530Harley (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Harley is a gentle 10 year old soul, deaf in both ears, looking for a new home. We are having him neutered and his left ear may have a yeast infection which will be addressed. Harley was brought in with his sister, she was adopted by a couple that already have 2 other Shepherds and could not take Harley. They came to the shelter via a domestic violence intervention, animal control was called, the husband was going to have Harley euthanized because he was 'old', animal control convinced him to surrender Harley to them in hopes of finding a forever home. He seems to be good with people, he's not really interested in other dogs, not sure on ... (Read More)cats yet, we may know more tomorrow. He is an absolute beautiful fella with a sweet disposition. Please consider giving him a second chance where he can get all the love and attention he so deserves. Harley is staying at the shelter, sleeping on a blanket on the cement floor. If we can get a temperature on him doing well with cats I will bring him to my home and foster until we can locate a forever home. Thank you for your consideration! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-05-14-00134Ranger (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Needs to be Neutered

Ranger is a 9 year old unneutered Shepherd mix who recently came to our rescue with his brother Canelo. Ranger has a great looking brindle coat with some white contrast. He is personable and attentive. Since he's a senior he's slowed down a bit but still has some pep to his step especially when heading outside. It's reported Ranger is house trained. He is gentle on leash but wanders a bit and will need to work on his skills. Ranger knows and performs the same tricks as his brother...sit, down, stay and come, with or without treats...but he does like treats and takes them gently. Ranger is attentive to his handler and enjoys affection and ... (Read More)companionship. It's reported he's been around kids of all ages without any issues. The brothers came to the rescue because of a neighbor dispute and we'd like to see them adopted out together but they should do ok in separate homes with some time and patience. Please come by the rescue and meet Ranger today! If you want to apply for Ranger, go to to fill out an application. After completing the application, e-mail it to All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will contact the person chosen to adopt him. *Ranger's adoption fee includes his neuter, which will be scheduled prior to him going to his new home.
