This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. She is an almost 5y/o pitmix, her birthday is February 25, who sadly I cannot keep with me anymore. She is shy at first but when she warms up, she becomes a huge baby. She's great with kids and adults. I wouldn't recommend with cats and some dogs. She is trained on a harness and she notifies you when she has to use the bathroom. I only want the best for my girl and to find a forever home that would give her as much love as I was able to.

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Deaf

We are looking at the possibility of finding a home for our special needs Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd puppy who is approximately 5 months old. She is current on all vaccinations and has an appointment to be spayed and microchipped next month. The special home we want for our special needs puppy (she is deaf and blind, has some motor issues and possibly neurological issues) requires someone (or one's) who have had experience training/raising blind and deaf puppies (not a dog that has progressed into these disabilities). Because of her breed and her personality, we feel she is highly trainable - we think she could be a service dog with ... (Read More)the right training, however we do not know the first thing about training these special needs and is why - the only reason why - we would love to find her someone who is skilled and willing to work with her. We also want a home where her fur-parent(s) are home and will not leave her alone the majority of each day. She currently has 2 sisters (a Siberian Husky and an Aussie) and a brother (a Tamaskan). She is used to being around dogs as she also goes to doggy daycare every day while we're at work. When we rescued Xandria, she was mal/undernourished, weak, scared and has blossomed into a normal puppy - a puppy in all aspects of the word. She gets into things, a lot of things, you will need to puppy-proof your house. Just because she can't see, doesn't mean she can't find and remember. She is potty trained on the first floor of our home. If she does not know that there is a door to go to in order to do her business she will have an accident - this is the case in our basement.I am not sure she'll ever be potty trained certified, but she doesn't go in her crate and also not on our first floor where she knows the door is to signal us to let her out. She has not been around children but is not aggressive. She is a puppy (I can't stress this enough) who's only sense are smell, taste and feel..She snaps - which is one way she can find and feel without seeing..So, children who are small or afraid of dogs may not be a good fit - she is not snapping to hurt, she is snapping with her mouth to find. So, if you're considering being Xandria's permanent home, please let me know..We have Photos and You Videos so you could check her out..Thanks! (Less)

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Lulu has been with us for 11 years. Very good dog with our kids who are now grown up and gone as of 2 mos ago. We cannot keep her because she needs to go out during the day every few hours. She's approx 13-14 yrs old and pretty energetic! Up-to-date on everything except teeth cleaning, so a bit of breath problem. Soon due for rabies vaccine. // She looked like she was going downhill this summer, but we think she just couldn't stand our other dog finally (after over 2 yrs). She SO perked up! I need to re-home her by Jan. 7th.

Beamer was saved form a hoarding situation - he was one of 12 dogs living in a home with no humans. He is a survivor. His foster mom says he loves people, though he has to get to know you first. He has no interest in other dogs and will walk right by them, but he does like cats. Once he's comfortable with you, he wants to sit on your lap and fall asleep. He knows basic commands, is housebroken and is not destructive at all. We have not had him around kids yet. Beamer needs work walking on the leash. He does take treats gently out of your hands. German Shepherd    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Splinter is a ten-year-old, 80-pound, male German Shepherd looking for a loving guardian. 'This boy might very well be the sweetest animal on the face of this earth' '| at least that's what his foster mom says '| and quite honestly, that was my opinion too upon meeting him back in June and again in September. He has not had an easy life and the fact that he harbors no ill will towards humans is proof of his incredibly forgiving nature. Splinter lived on the end of a chain in Kentucky for his entire life. He was 20 minutes from being euthanized when Samantha of Chicago's Pal's Place Rescue agreed to take him on. She had no idea what bad ... (Read More)shape he was in when she committed to take him. Splinter had been surrendered by his family to be killed. He was completely bald with mange, starved near death, heartworm positive, and his ears and tail had frostbite. The shelter cut a heavy chain off his neck when he was turned in. Luckily Splinter's intelligence and will to live kept him alive. His stomach was full of the skeletons of mice and rats that he was forced to hunt to stay alive since his 'family' neglected to feed him. He was barely able to stand or lift his head when he was rescued. It's taken months of loving care, blood transfusions, and a lot of medical intervention to bring him back to life. He is now looking for a patient dog-lover to take him under their wing and give him the love and care he was deprived of during his first ten years of life. And, due to his previous lack of care '| he will eat anything and everything; and he is not fully housebroken. However, he can now play ball for an hour and LOVES female shepherds. He has no idea what to do about stairs in a home and he gets along best with other gentle-natured larger dogs. He is wonderful with people. If you can help with his medical bills, (anything will help) please visit: https://www.youcaring.com/pal-s-place-rescue-393713 To meet and possibly adopt Splinter, please contact his foster mom Samantha at palsplace1@hotmail.com or 773-615-9864. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Polo is a very handle-able, energetic and sweet, two-year-old, male shepherd/terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Polo absolutely loves other dogs (not cats) and plays regularly in doggie play groups. He knows the commands sit, shake, down, stay, and (usually) drop and is working on loose-leash walking. He's a loving and appreciative dog who's goofy and friendly. Polo landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control and was such a volunteer favorite that he is now living happily in a foster home with another dog who he loves to play with. He loves going to the dog park and hasn't met a dog he didn't play nicely with! He's also an ... (Read More)excellent running companion. Although Polo is 99% housebroken, he is looking for a home where someone either works from home, comes home at lunch-time, or has a dog-walker '| he needs a mid-day break! He is quietly crate-trained, but not for over four hours without a break. Polo is usually very gentle, but he can get a bit mouthy/jumpy when excited, so he would do best in a home with teens and adults.     Buddy is a very sweet, energetic and fun, three-year-old, 57-pound, male, tri-color hound/shepherd-mix looking for a loving guardian. Buddy is happiest when he has the opportunity to exercise daily. He's not an apartment dog; he'd prefer a home with a yard where he can run and play. He was caught by a great rescuer who is the one who let everyone know of the dogs plight. Put in boarding ...
