Please read entire description. Godfrey's adoption fee is $175. If his ad is still available, we are still accepting applications. The first and required step is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. We are only accepting application for Godfrey with homes that have physically fenced yards, no cats, and as an inside dog only. Meet Godfrey. This 1.5 year old, 82 pound Shepherd is sweet and goofy. He was an unclaimed stray, so we are unsure of his history. Godfrey can stand to use some basic training that he likely never received in his first home. Godfrey is sweet and very much a velcro ... (Read More)dog that wants to be by your side. His only flaw is that he thinks he is the size of a small lap dog and is unaware of the real size of his big, teenager dog body. Godfrey learns quickly and is already doing better on leash and learning commands as quickly as you can teach him. He is eager to please and a quick learner. He does well with other dogs of any size. He loves to romp, play, and wrestle with dog friends. He has spent time in Doggy Daycare and has done well. He is quiet in the house, housebroken, and kennel trained. He would do fine with children who are large enough not to be bothered by possibly getting knocked over when he's clumsy. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If interested in meeting Godfrey, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. Jasmine's adoption fee is $175. If interested in meeting her, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. We are requiring another dog in the home and a privacy fenced yard. Jasmine is a 1-2 year old, female German Shepherd mix. She is petite and weighs about 60 pounds. She was an unclaimed stray and needs to gain just a little more weight before she is at her ideal size. Jasmine has a very shy, sweet, calm, and quiet personality. She has spent some time playing with a younger, smaller dog at the kennel and they quickly became the best of friends. ... (Read More)She is very quiet and we have yet to hear her bark. She does cry when you walk away from her. Once she gets to know you, she likes to be near you. In just over a week, Jasmine's personality has really shown through. She will make someone an excellent companion. Jasmine is a bit timid at first and takes a bit of time to warm up to new people. She would rather hang back and observe guests at first. When around another dog, she has more confidence and is doing great in the foster home. She is house trained and crate trained. She is great with other dogs of all sizes. She is not good with cats. We are requiring a privacy fenced yard because Jasmine can climb chain link a professional.. We think older children who know how to behave appropriately around dogs would be best. We could see her being a little scared of toddlers. We just haven't had any available toddlers around to see what she thinks about them. If you are interested in meeting Jasmine, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Jasmine will require a privacy fenced yard. (Less)

Dakota is sweet baby to most but is very timid and has some aggression issues. We have had her since she was 5 weeks old. No papers, we bought her from a woman who breeded with her neighbor. We really hate the thought of getting rid of her, but my other dog does not get along with her. The person that is lucky enough to adopt Dakota will have to get her aggressive training.

Meet Olaf! Olaf is believed to be a white German Shepherd and is 2 years old. Olaf was adopted out when he was about 6 months old and returned to AHS in October 2017 at no fault of his own. His family just couldn't commit to the time and energy Olaf needed and felt it best for him to find a new home. Olaf is a very active boy with a lot of energy. He needs a home with at least one other active dog (or more). Olaf likes to play with toys, but prefers to play with other dogs. He loves to run and swim, an active owner or family is a must! He needs more than just play time in a fenced in yard, he benefits greatly going on hikes, runs or swims. ... (Read More)Olaf also needs to have mental stimulation, he is one smart cookie! He is great with children of all ages, but due to his size would do best with older children. Olaf needs to have a 6ft fence that is very secure. He also cannot be left unattended when outdoors as he is a climber. As long as you are out with him and engaging with him he should be good. Olaf is house and crate trained. He gets along well with dogs and cats. He is very food motivated (but can be picky with his food). Olaf would love a running partner or adventure buddy. Could that be you? The Love Story of Hugo & Frannie ... it's like the film - When Harry Met Sally - a true romance! Both dogs have sad histories. Hugo was starved nearly to death by negligent owners ... (Read More)while Frannie lived on the streets as a stray, fighting for survival from dog attacks and having to search for any scrap of food for months. Hugo, who has a lot of energy and hates being alone, desperately needed a girlfriend who would not be afraid of his size and would play and roughhouse with him.. Before she met Hugo and because of her experiences with other dogs while living the hobo life, Frannie was terrified of other dogs and would react aggressively when they met. Deep down though, Frannie didn't want to be alone either. When Frannie met Hugo, it was pretty close to love at first sight. Within minutes, they were chasing each other, wrestling and so totally thrilled at meeting their soulmates. For the first time in her life, Frannie had found a dog friend and, even better, a kindred spirit! Hugo had finally found that playful BFF who would always be by his side! They each fill the other's needs - dare we say it? - Hugo completes Frannie. Hugo is outgoing and brave while Frannie suffers from some anxiety probably because she had been beaten in her past. Hugo's confidence gives Frannie the courage she needs to handle strange situations and she's learned from him that people are safe. Hugo won't ever be alone while Frannie is by his side. It's truly a match made in Heaven so we want this wonderful pair to stay together forever! Hugo is our vocalist; he will carry on a full conversation with you when he wants to go outside or wants to eat or just wants attention. It's so funny! Frannie is sweet and gentle and gives the best kisses! This duo will make great additions to the family lucky enough to adopt them. They love walks and car rides, but just letting them run and cavort in a fenced in yard gives them so much joy as well! You won't need a TV if you have this pair! They are pure entertainment and such great company! Pull up a lawn chair, grab a pizza and let the show begin. Please note: Hugo suffers from allergies and will require medication for the extent of his life. If you are interested in adopting the pair, the first step is to fill out an adoption application.     Shyla is a very loving and gentle dog. She likes to pretend she is a lap dog, she is a very good watch dog as well. She has been an inside dog but she is an escape artist and a runner. She gets along very well with other animals but will chase wild animals such as squirrels, turkeys, etc. She has a very laid back and easy going personality except when a stranger comes near but warms up very quickly. She needs a lot of room to run and someone who has time to exercise her. She walks well on a leash. Feel free to call or text me.
