Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

***PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS A COURTESY POST. CAMILLA IS WITH ANOTHER RESCUE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HER, PLEASE EMAIL: lisa@hotblownglass.com******Camilla Bougainvillea Long-legged Lanky Shepherd?/Pitty Mix... Just over 1yr old. Young and energetic and would be an awesome agility dog. She is quite a leaper! Camilla loves to play rough and tumble with the big girls and boys. And she has gotten along with every dog she has met. She sounds serious during playtime but she is all fun. Camilla's best buddy got adopted. Now who will she play chase with through the doggy pool!! She loves that kind of fun. She is a lean lanky ... (Read More)gal in great shape @50 lbs. Without knowing her history or breed mix, it took awhile for her body to grow up to be crate trained and house trained. She likes to look up on the counter... She has no food aggression but does want her snack bite first before the other guys and has figured out sit and be patient. But she can wait if she has to. She works really hard at this. Unknown @ cats. She is sweet and kind to small dogs so with good training and reminders a cat could be her friend. Camilla is a snuggler after the squirming stops from being so excited. She needs a big yard to run and play in; interactively with her family or dog siblings. Boredom could set in if she is not on the go and burning off energy. She is no couch potato right now. Camilla Bougainvillea is spay and current on shots. All my rescues go to their new homes microchipped, heart worm negative and on heart worm preventative. (Less)

This puppy is part of a litter that came from a stray momma dog. We got her in only a week or 2 before she gave birth. She is a very mixed breed herself. We really have no idea what the mix is but rescueme makes us choose what they look most like...lol The mom looks like a beagle/bird dog mix. They are only 6 weeks old today (02-05-16)and will be available at 8 weeks old. This pup looks shepherd right now. We cannot guarantee that's what it will look like in the future. Most of the other puppies look border collie or cattle dog. They will be large dogs when full grown. They will have vaccinations at 6 weeks, 8, 12, 14 weeks. Dewormed at ... (Read More)2,4,6,8 weeks. She is 4.5 Mos old. Nema is her mom and dad was a Australian Cattle Dog from the looks of the litter and their personalities. With her mix of herding breeds this makes a challenge but a wonderful combination for training. THEY ARE A TRAINERS DREAM!! Would be wonderful in agility or the like. As it's in their nature, they can be naturally apprehensive with strangers and take a bit to warm up. Because of this a basic obedience/puppy class with be ... (Read More)required as a condition for adoption. She is crate trained and potty trained, but she will more than likely need a refresher course in a new home learning a new routine; patience and consistency is key. She has grown up with two other dogs and cats in the home as well. The nature of training and socializing a young pup, we will require that any potential homes have a schedule conducive to this. If you are gone from the home for 9 hours+ this would not be the ideal situation for puppy training. Remember puppies go through a teething phase with those little sharp teeth, so if you have very young children this is something to consider. She has all her shots and several dewormings, microchipped, spayed. Application, Home visit and contract apply. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Murphie is one of our two German Shepards. He is the younger of the two and he is very active. We have a 20 month old daughter with another one due in a few months. With our busy lives, expanding family, and work schedule, it is difficult to give him the attention he deserves and needs. He is a great family dog, and great with kids. We would like to see him go to a home with a large fenced in yard. If the adopter is interested in taking both dogs, it is something we would consider.     Leah is such a sweet girl. She is 2 years old and is great with female humans and smaller male dogs. When I rescued her, she had been abused by a young male in the household and placed outside on a chain in the backyard where she acquired many bites from flies and gnats on her ears making them bleed and scab. She has since been in good health with me. She is picky about her food and we only feed her 'no grain' foods, currently on NutriSelect brand. She needs to not be around men or boys. She tends to be aggressive towards them. She is very smart and has a very fun personality! She will talk to you! We feel it is time to move her on to a ... German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Clark. He is a big ol' baby. Seriously. He weighs about 80 pounds and is only 9 months old! We know that his mom is a full-blooded white German shepherd. Dad is unknown, but we are thinking mastiff-ish. We are certain that Clark is not finished growing, so this big baby might turn into a giant baby when it's all said and done. Clark is very friendly with people of all ages. He lives with kids and even does great when the kids' friends come to visit too. He has been around toddlers and seems to know that he has to be extra careful when they are around. He is well behaved for his age, but does have to be reminded of some basic manners ... (Read More)from time to time. Unfortunately, Clark has not had a lot of experience on leash or in the car. He really hasn't been in many public places either. When we met him, he had to endure all of those things and did a great job all things considered. Clark loves to play with balls and to run around his yard. He will need a fenced yard and someone who will teach about the leash gradually. Although Clark currently lives with a yorkie mix and loves the little dog, we think that any dog to dog introductions with Clark go very slowly. Like we mentioned above, Clark has not left his house much and is a little nervous outside of his comfort zone. We do not know how Clark is with cats. Clark will be brought up to date on his vetting on Tuesday, February 2. He will have current shots, be neutered, and be microchipped. Clark is solidly housebroken and great in his crate. If you are interested in Clark, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. If you have any questions, please find us on Facebook or email us at pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

MILEY IS ONLY ADOPTABLE TO INDIANA AND OHIO AND MUST HAVE A 6FT FENCE!! Miley is 2 yrs old and being a tripod doesnt slow her down lol. She had a genetic deformity and they opted to remove her leg. She is Spayed, UTD and all that good stuff. She gets along great with dogs of mid-size and larger. She has a very confident personality but wouldnt call her dominant. IMO she is just on the naughty end of the Sibe scale in some of her traits. She is High energy and wants to play play play. Being a tripod has not made her a couch potato by any means. She is doing great on the gentle leader for walking. Stays in her crate during the day and doesnt ... (Read More)escape. She prefers to be out to sleep where she pleases at night. She is vocal. Likes people. I would say her two worst traits are she is a resource guarder and she has a higher prey drive. IMO everything else is just part of the package of having a northern breed. Of course you can't do much about the prey drive except respect it and prepare for it; but once she settles in somewhere and builds some trust...the resource guarding is an issue that needs to be worked with. Separation with food and high values to begin with go from there as you build a relationship with her. She has been bounced around A LOT up until this point but seems to have taken it in stride and it has not broken her spirit; must be her Northern self taking the reigns. I think she will make a wonderful addition to anyones family as long as you are prepared for the Northern breed personality and willing to do a little work to fine tune her. She is a teenager who like to be stubborn and push the boundaries if you let her. I think the only stipulations for her at this point would be no very small children, no small critters in the home and someone experienced with the breed and good containment options because even with 3 legs she is a runner and houdini. Miley has been through obedience training and passed her Canine Good Citizen test (barelylol). Miley had a UC Davis test done prior to her coming to our rescue. Regardless of the minimal wolf content she may have, she can only go to localities that allow wolfdogs and who have a 6ft fence. ONLY THOSE WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE NORHTERN BREED WILL BE CONSIDERED. She has been bounced around being Misunderstood; and hey, that's our speciality!! Her next home will be forever and no one ill prepared for the challenge will be considered. Our one and only loyalty is to her happiness and security. If you live in Indiana, Ohio and think you may fit the bill please apply. Currently located in Far NorthCentral Indiana. Application, Home visit, Contract and $300 adoption fee apply. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nema is just the sweetest girl in the world. Nema came to us after delivering a litter of 9 pups and was in horrible condition; only two pups survived. When we get her back on her feet she is going to be just beautiful!! Now that we have treated her parasites and she is eating well she is gaining weight like a champ. She will be spayed and all that good stuff in a few weeks. She gets along great with the other dogs at the foster home. Cats, well I don't recommend cats unless you want to spend your time separating and monitoring like her foster mom has had to do 24/7. She will make quick work of a metal crate but doing well in her airline ... (Read More)crate. Pretty much potty trained but has an accident on a rare occasion; but she is making improvements in every aspect daily. She will need some basic obedience work. Loves her people and would be more than happy to be your shadow all the time. Application, Home visit, and contract apply $300 adoption fee. Application: http://goo.gl/forms/HyAgNcr4M7 (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sherlock. One year old male German Shepherd/Vizsla Mix. Weight approx 70 lbs. Sherlock is such a handsome dude! He has a lot of energy and is continuously on the go, go, go! He loves playing with toys and racing full speed around our play yard! For this reason he would do best in a home with a very active family with a physical fence. Once he has worn himself out, he will snuggle in for some love and attention. He does very well with his dominant female roommate at the rescue. So his ideal home would be with a dominant female doggie playmate or in a home where he is the only 'furkid'! Also because of his larger size and ... (Read More)playfulness, a home with older children would be best. If you are looking for a very handsome, playful and energetic and loving boy, Sherlock is your guy! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Adoption fee $175.00 (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

***PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS A COURTESY POST. GRAPHITE IS WITH ANOTHER RESCUE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HIM, PLEASE EMAIL: lisa@hotblownglass.com****** Graphite - With the cutest happy face, this mellow fellow wants to be by your side. Graphite is somewhere in the 3-5yr old range, so being taken into rescue as a stray doesn't give us too much history to go on. It did show quickly that Graphite has had to deal with separation anxiety but has improved tremendously. Graphite is sweet. And kind. And loving. He likes to share your life but does not have to sit on you. He likes toys and self-entertains some times. He and his foster ... (Read More)pals do play but not too hard and very fairly. It does take him awhile to warm up to people and other dogs. Unknown around cats, but I am inclined to think his gentle nature would allow him to have a cat as a family member. He is house trained. Graphite does not tolerate crating but since he is so good in the house I have no need to crate him. And Graphite thinks dog gates are for the other dogs. Graphite is neutered. Heart worm negative and taking monthly preventative. He is current on shots and microchipped. He knows to check for open doors and to push out partly closed doors to come with you, so homes with kids that don't shut doors won't work out. He is a great snuggler. No food aggression issues. And he sits with other dogs to take snacks. He is a cutie! A 55lb Shep/husky/lab mix. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-05-14-00362Henry (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Henry: 7 year old german shepherd/husky mix 75 lbs good with women/older kids/some men (can be scared of some men); good with most dogs (except large & dominant males) & particularly likes little dogs; potty trained Oh, Henry! What a silly, goofy, charming boy he is! You'll notice his innate sweetness within a few minutes of meeting him; he's very sensitive and his feelings get hurt very easily. It's not just his docility that attracts people to him; he's a bit of a clown as well! He's rather clumsy and tends to trip a lot; he just doesn't always know where his legs are going. His asymmetrical face will make you ... (Read More)chuckle; when you're talking to him, he cocks his head and his ears perk up and you just know he's about to say something silly in response. Henry loves toys and can keep himself entertained for hours, just tossing them around and chasing them. He relishes lounging on beds and lying in the sunshine, interspersed with perimeter patrol of the yard while checking for pesky squirrels and chewing on his toys. He hasn't had the easiest life; his original owner kept him outdoors and abused him. As a result, he's a bit shy and can be fearful of men. Henry is still adjusting to experiencing new things - like car rides and gentle caresses - but is learning the joy of feeling the wind in his face and having his ears scratched. When we got him, Henry tested positive for heartworms but has gone through full treatment and is doing very well now. He would be happiest in a quiet home where he can receive the patience and love which he previously lacked. Henry's adoption fee is $125; he's neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.     Rue is a female, 2 year old, German Shepherd. Good with dogs, but not cats. Housetrained. Would do best in a home without small children. She's spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Rue is an affectionate and charming girl who has a zest for life that is contagious. She loves toys, racing around the yard at full speed and wrestling with her doggy friends. Going on long walks and exploring her surroundings are also favorite pastimes. Rue is quite demonstrative and, when getting attention, wags her tail so hard that she looks like she's doing the shimmy. Like most german shepherds, Rue is very loyal to her family and can ...
