German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

This darling guy is Sid. Sid is a 4 year old, 35lb. Shepherd/Collie or Golden Retriever blend. We are not quite sure of his mix, but whatever he is mixed with, it has a dose of cuteness for sure! In addition to his scruffy cuteness, Sid is as laid back as they come. Very easy going with one exception - when he is left by himself. You see Sid suffers from separation anxiety and gets very nervous and scared when left alone. He will need an experienced owner that understands what that entails. Of course his rescue will help with good suggestions but his current foster mom advises that Sid would do best with someone who is home more often ... (Read More)than not, and probably in a home that has other pets to keep him company and continue to build his confidence when he is alone. Sid is a very friendly dog - good with people and with other dogs. He has an easy going personality and just likes to hang with his person wherever they are at. Sid is very good on a leash and for sure likes his daily walks. If you think Sid might be the right dog for you - or for more information on darling Sid, please send an inquiry today! Sid is fully vetted and microchipped. (Less)

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dexter is wonderful dog that I'd love to keep, however I am moving and cannot bring him with me. He is loyal and very sweet, but not good with other dogs to my knowledge. He was good with other dogs while in training, but needs to be socialized again, and needs to be muzzled when meeting new animals. I have no children in my family so he has never been introduced to anyone under the age of 20. Dexter needs a loving family who can provide him with a great home for him to run and play.

She is house trained and crate trained, spayed, is current on her vaccinations, and weighs 65 pounds. She has lived with a Pomeranian/Yorkie mix and another Pomeranian for the past 18 months and up until recently the only signs of aggression she had shown towards the other dogs was aggressive posturing. German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

UPDATE June 7, 2016 Turbo is still available. I have received an overwhelming number of calls, emails, and texts-from across the country and even Canada! My apologies that I have not been able to reply to everyone yet. My primary concern is that Turbo be placed in a good home. I am slowly but surely making my way through the list, in the order received. This post will be deleted promptly when Turbo is adopted. Thank you for your patience! *** Help! I'm moving out of the country at the end of the month and can't take 2.5-year-old Turbo. I had another adoptive home all set up for him, but it is flea infested-and therefore unacceptable. ... (Read More)Turbo is as sweet as pie, but would also make a great watchdog. He has a strong bark! He is high energy, playful, and could use some formal training. He loves to fetch balls (but isn't so great about giving them back, so you can throw them again)! Turbo is purebred of champion blood lines and comes with AKC papers; he has not been neutered, if you are interested in breeding. I will reimburse the adoption fee to kind person or family who adopts him. Because I'm not leaving till the end of the month, I'd like to keep Turbo until I leave. He comes with a dog house, kennel, and food storage bin. Thank you for your consideration. P.S. On 6/6, I updated this listing to state that Turbo is not good with other dogs and not good with cats. He has never really been around other animals, so he needs an owner who is able to slowly acclimate him to other pets, if he would be around them. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-22-00063Wolf (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Don't be scared off by his name. They say dogs evolve into what their name means. So we hope that Wolf grows into a stronger, more confident dog as he's had a rough start to life. He and his three siblings were surrendered to a very high kill shelter in Texas. His two lab sisters were rescued and he was left alone, petrified and hiding in his kennel with his shepherd mix brother. We tagged them both but then, tragedy struck. Wolf's brother died during surgery (the shelter requires they be altered before leaving). Wolf was now all alone in this big, scary world. He was transported ASAP to me here in Michigan, where I have spent the past four ... (Read More)months teaching him all about life outside a small, San Antonio back yard. He had never been inside a house before, even the noise from the refrigerator scared him. It became obvious that Wolf was much more comfortable outside but, due to his skiddish and fearful nature, he needs a fenced yard and to live inside with his new family. He will bond more better, more quickly, and his chances of getting lost will be drastically reduced. After having Wolf for a couple months, I introduced him to some new dogs and he really gets along well and enjoys playing with them. I think he misses his family so much and that brings back good memories for him. He is the most happiest I've ever seen him when he has a playmate to run and play, and romp in the yard with. Wolf is one of the most submissive dogs I have ever met, with people and other animals. He seems to be the type of dog who would allow small children to pull on his ears and bite his tail without recourse (not that we recommend allowing children to do that of course but, Wolf seems to have the temperament to put up with it!). Wolf's previous owner wasn't too nice to him. It appears that his ear flaps were literally CUT short with a dull pair of scissors or knife, because the edges are rough and puffy. Although they are all healed and don't appear to bother him at all, I'm sure it was extremely painful when it happened. Despite being so afraid, Wolf is a sweet, smart, laid back gentlemen with extremely good house manners. He is crate trained, comes when called, respects fences, and walks well on a leash. If you would like to consider adding Wolf to your family and provide him a forever and better life than before, please contact me for more information. NO TEXT MESSAGES PLEASE. (Less)

My name is Shadow and I am a 2-3 year old male German Shepard mix. I weigh about 60 pounds. I am a very hyper boy at this stage of my life; all I focus on is playing with my ball. I love playing ball. I will play all by myself or better yet, I LOVE it when someone throws me the ball and I run very fast and sometimes catch it in my mouth. I will need an active family who will help me burn off energy. Small children are probably not the best with me as when I am focused on my ball I don't see anything else. I would love to have myself a forever home. Since starting my 10 weeks of training program on May 20th, I have already learned Sit, Stand, ...     Hello there! My name is Max. I have a bit of a sad story. My mommy had to give me up because I nipped at someone and bit another. It wasn't a bad bite but enough for mommy to say she was going to have to put me down. One of her friends heard about this and contacted this rescue asking for help. They thankfully saved my life. They accepted me into their program. I am a great boy once I get to know someone. I am leery of new people, especially men, but once I get to know and trust them, I'm fine. I am approximately 3.5 years old. I am a German shepherd/husky mix. I do well with most dogs but small dogs and kitties and me do not mix. Blame ... (Read More)that on the husky side of me! I am playful and love to sit and cuddle. I know how to sit, lay down, shake, stay....so as you can see I am very very smart. When you say "go home", I know exactly what to do. That means go into my kennel. I always like to take one of my toys from my kennel with me when I go outside. I should probably be placed in a home with kids 15 years or older only. I need a stable home with mature owners. I ride wonderfully in the car and get very excited for car rides. I love to go for walks and walk wonderful on the leash. I should go to a home with a 6 foot high fenced in yard. I am a bigger boy who likes to roam and explore. So if you are experienced with a dog like me and can work on more training with me then I would LOVE to meet you! Love always, Max. (a foster home would be considered!!) (Less)
