Rescue Me ID: 16-02-11-00511Hazel (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hazel is a Shepard Lab mix that is about a year old. She was dealt a very rough hand to begin with, but with love and gentleness she will thrive with the right family. We call her a gentle giant as she is approximately 90 lbs of lovable puppy that likes her belly rubbed. Hazel is a little shy with new people but does warm up as long as they are patient and let her approach at her pace. She loves being outside playing with other dogs, and she plays hard'|running and jumping and starting to fetch. She is familiar with the commands of sit, up, outside, bed and food. She does struggle with being put on a leash, she will let you put it on ... (Read More)she would just rather lay down and not have to go anywhere! With the right family she will be a great addition. She is a loving pup who just wants loved back. A completely fenced yard is required with her adoption. Her adoption fee is $300.00. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-11-00315Mojo (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mojo is a very loving, sweet girl. Our family has had her since she was a puppy. She has been socialized and does well with other dogs. She also had obedience training as a puppy and listens very well to both voice commands as well as hand jesters. Mojo can fetch, shake, high five, leave it, all the basic tricks. She has been good with kids of all ages. She is not food aggressive. She has also lived with a cat since we brought her home but I do not recommend that you have one or plan on getting one with her, she never hurt it, it's just that she's obsessed with it. Mojo needs to run and have a yard. This is why we can no longer keep her. We ... (Read More)had to move into an apartment. Mojo also has a sensitive stomach so her food costs more than most. This is a very difficult choice for our family so please only contact us if you're very seriously interested in taking her. Thank you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-01-00401Bruse (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Age:2 Weight:around 70-80 lbs. Hair color: Mostly black, with brown legs/belly. Beautiful white patch on his chest. Brown markings over the eyes. Groomed every 2 weeks (Bath) Bruse has been raised by myself (18 year old Male) and I am very dominant over him. I enjoy him most when he is submissive and relaxing with me. We go for walks occasionally and I keep him well fed and well taken care of. I sometimes play with him and we never get to rough. He would be compatible in a home with no cats, possibly other dogs, and probably not small dogs though. I say this because, he has lived in a home without any animals and 3 adults. Bruse has ... (Read More)traveled a few times in his short life. He has been to northern Michigan and down to Texas (never flying, always by car). Both trips were amazing by the way. They wouldn't have been the same without him. Bruse is not an aggressive dog, however he is protective. If he believes there is an intruder, he snaps to attention. He is tamed with voice command and listens quite well. Under no circumstances, would I feel safe with this dog under someones control that is weak(physically and mentally). This is not a small animal. This is a predator. Although he is tamed, anything can happen with animals. I would suggest someone who is at least somewhat experienced with larger animals to take this dog. Let's get into the good stuff... Bruse is extremely loyal and loving. I feel like this dog is my best friend. When I'm sad, hes my buddy. When I'm excited, he's my play mate. I love this dog and he is a joy for me. I found him when he was so small, I could carry him in one hand. He is 100% potty trained, house trained, crate trained, and obedient trained. I even did the Cesear Millan thing and took him rollerblading a lot! He's very strong even for his weight and can pull him at around 30 miles per hour. The real reason why I'm putting him up for adoption is because, time passes and I have responsiblites. I'm joining the air force and moving on with my life. Now, I'm doing my best to help Bruse move into his new life as well. I don't want to put him down, and I really want this to work out. He has been raised to be a companion. and he doesn't deserve death. Please, do not try to scam me, do not contact me if you live in DETROIT. Outside of Detroit is fine, just not IN Detroit. This is a permanent adoption so if you take Bruse, I expect you to be willing to put in the effort to make things work. He might be defensive at first, but over time.. He will become your loyal, companion. (3 I'm about to cry... :'( nope just kidding I'm crying. Please understand this is very hard for me even though I'm an adult now. This is one of the hardest things I have ever been tasked to do. My ship out date is April 5th 2016. Please contact soon I live at home with my parents and can meet anytime. I am free 100% of the time and am willing. Thank you for reading this post and I hope to speak to you soon. Also, I don't really care about the adoption fee. Just don't try to use my dog for fighting or anything like that. That would be F'd up. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-30-00694Rogue (female)

German Shepherd Mix

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations, Aggressive

Rogue is very high strung. She likes to be alpha in the house. She attacked another dog today, she ran away and found her with another dog, it was bleeding. I called the owner said that his dog was fine just had a little puncture wounds. She's also nipped at my son once, and after she was punished she never did it again. She's just too high strung around here with my toddler. She's really great once she gets used to her surroundings, she didn't agree with my two chihuahuas at first, but now she can play with them without hurting them, she's young and is still learning her strengths. She's super playful and all she wants is to have fun, I ... (Read More)live in a little trailer, so its kind of hard to just let her run around and have fun. I feel bad for getting rid of her, I wish we didn't have to, she just cant handle our environment, I work full time, so I am having a hard time training her. (Less)

Meet Graham! This big goofball is a 6 year old Black Labrador Retriever mix. He is full of energy, he even loves to play in the snow! Poor Graham was brought to the shelter by his previous family that couldn't keep him. This guy doesn't hold a grudge though, he still absolutely loves people! German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

LOCATION: E.LANSING MI As time has went on, Nema's true personality has really shown through. Where to start... Well her personality and temperament is DEFINITELY more GSD than Husky. For that reason she is only going to an experienced GSD family. She has some major guarding/protective tendencies and if not placed in the right home that could be very bad for her. Her natural protectiveness has caused her to lash out and defend without much warning. She has gone to a bootcamp with a wonderful trainer who specializes in GSD's and she is doing AMAZING working on her training with her foster mom. She is learning to look to her handler for ... (Read More)direction rather than taking matters into her own hands. In a few short weeks she has come so far. Continued training will be require for any potential adopters. Nema will also need a home that does NOT have small children; while I think that should would be naturally protective of her family, I'd rather not have children so young that don't understand her threshold. She has some pretty severe separation anxiety. She had caused massive amounts of damage to her snout trying to escape her crate; she had destroyed many so we have her in a heavy duty steel crate that seems to be doing the trick. She is VERY loyal to those she knows; to a fault. She gets along with the other dogs in the home (for the most part; if someone starts something she will NOT back down though) She lives with cats, and although she likes to chase them on occasion she listens amazing well and will sleep and snuggle with them too. TO BE CLEAR: We have never seen her be aggressive; most of her behaviors are either protective or defensive in nature. If interested you can also purchase her crate at the cost we paid $170. It's one of the indestructible crates. She gets along great with the other dogs at the foster home; but an overbearing or bully personality would be a challenge. Cats, well her foster mom has cats and while she would like to chase them she listens well and cuddles with them often. Application, Home visit, and contract apply $300 adoption fee.
