|Rescue Me ID: 17-12-16-00289Albert (male)|
Albert (formerly Aleph) was born on 1/6/17 to a stray we'd taken in. He was - and still is! - the sweetest puppy in the litter. He loves sitting on your lap or curling up next to you on the couch, and he loves to play with other dogs. He's a very laid-back boy, and quite friendly with our other dogs no matter how much they pounce on him. Aleph sometimes startles easily and he can be nervous about new things, but his nervousness presents as hesitation rather than aggression because he's just naturally kind. His hesitation doesn't last long; once he has a chance to check things out, he's all in. He'd be a great addition to any family, but he'll need a bit of extra time to get used to new things. Albert is an easy dog, but he is not a good fit for a first-time dog owner. He has separation anxiety and he may bark or chew on furniture when his people are out of the house. We do crate him, and with training and gentle reinforcement he's come a long way: he still barks kind of a lot when we leave, but he no longer panics to the point where he becomes destructive or self-destructive. We have plenty of strategies we use to help him stay relaxed when we're gone, and to keep him from chewing up our furniture and other stuff, and we're happy to share them with you but he will need some help in his new home. His new family must be able to commit to helping him not only make the transition to a new home, but to becoming a dog who can fully relax when they're out of the house. Albert responds well to other dogs' behavior, and will do best in a household with at least one other dog. If your dog is relaxed while you're gone, Albert will find it easier to relax too. He will be happiest in a household that uses crates for all the dogs; if one dog is allowed to roam, he thinks he should be able to as well. If you think Albert would be a good fit for your family, please fill out an application for him here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfK4WY2gnXcR7VVVnFqdtiPIDQll4LS9UMkTyBsRenzAG7RoQ/viewform#start=openform and you can read more about Albert and his brothers and sisters here: http://menaceandwhimsy.com/detroit-rescue-puppies-available-3172017 Please note: We will respond to general questions, but we will only consider potential adopters who fill out an adoption application. |Rescue Me ID: 17-12-15-00321Max (male)|
Maximus Vom Des Holzes Hausen! MAX is a beautiful AKC registered black and red (nuetered) male german shepherd. He has very good pigmentation and great personality! If you are looking for family loyalty and protection, Max is the dog for you! He has a ton of Schutzhund in his pedigree! This is the highest level of training for working class dogs. Max is the grandson V Ulof Of Assaracus SCHH3 and V Picasso von Tronje SCHH3. He has many more amazing champions in his pedigree! See his parents pedigrees copy and paste these links FATHER: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=701598-sechs-wachter-des-holzes MOTHER: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=639247-dalya-vom-waldschlosschen A little bit about Max. He is a fantastic male with a wonderful personality. He is nuetered and weighs 90 to 95 pounds. He comes with AKC registration, copy of his pedigree and vet records. He is up-to-date on all of his shots. Max is playful and funny, but also protective and watchful of his family. Max loves kids! He is a quick learner and knows basic commands and how to shake. He Loves water and playing ball. Max is good with other dogs (preferably females). He doesn't like cats. We got Max back from his original owners because they cannot keep him. As a responsible Breeder, should a clients situation change, we do take our pups back if needed. Max has been back with us less than 24 hours and already we see his wonderful personality! He is playful and loving. He wants to be with you, even sleep with you. He is house trained and also crate trained. But He will need a home where there is no cats and if other dogs... they need to be more submissive. He has been fine with males as long as he can be the more dominant personality. NOTE: please do not be fooled by his fun loving personality because he will and has protected his family in the past. He is an excellent guard/alerter/protector. He did bite the arm of a trespasser coming onto his property that was reaching to touch one of the children in his family. (Warning bite). DO NOT pass up Max because of this. He was doing his job, when his owners weren't around. If you want a sweet loving family dog and some peace of mind that your children or family will be protected then consider Max. Max has a heart of gold and is a true german shepherd! Call me with any questions please as I am not on FB a lot and prefer to talk to people over the phone or in person instead of comment continuously. |Rescue Me ID: 17-12-05-00502Lance (male)|
I recently adopted/rescued Lance after seeing his living conditions and desperately wanted to help him. His previous owner would only let him go for 450$. When I got him he came with no paperwork but owner claimed he was up to date on shots but after inquiring about records he had nothing to give me. The poor pup was filthy, covered in fleas, and his coat was ruined from never being groomed or even his collar taken off. He had been left outside for days at a time, chained up, without any contact or love.He was under weight and very skidish and had plenty of signs of abuse, I had to get him out of the situation. From what the previous owner told me, he's a pure breed and has had obedience training, he said he got along great with other dogs and cats and great with kids. This was not the case. I've put so much time into getting him healthy again and he has come along way. From the beginning he has never been aggressive and is very sweet. But he has attacked my cat multiple times maybe out of fear I'm not sure, he was never trained to walk on a leash and I've been working on that with him. He knows how to sit, shake, lie down, but gets very distracted when outside and sometimes doesn't listen at all. I also think someone may have busted one of his canine teeth because one is totally out of his mouth. I've tried to gain his confidence back with lots of love and assurance that he's in a good home but he has very bad separation anxiety and does not do well being left alone even for less than an hour. He goes crazy, crating him only makes his anxiety worse and I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself. He needs someone that can be with him all the time. I don't leave him alone for more than 2hours but he was just so badly neglected before that I don't know what to do and he's such a sweet boy he doesn't deserve to end up at a shelter. I really want to find him a good home, after paying 450$ for him alone on top of medical bills and getting his shots up to date and getting rid of the fleas I've spent about 800$ and can't continue to take more time off of work to be with him. He's a very good dog very loving and forgiving even after all he's been through. (Less)

He is a good dog but has not been socialized much. He has been thru training but I didn't follow thru with it. He knows some commands. He loves children. He is very domineering of me. I am moving and they don`t allow large breeds. I just want him to go to a home where they can give him the attention he needs. I am unable to do this and He deserves more.

|Rescue Me ID: 17-12-03-00165Rilo (male)|
This handsome boy is Rilo. For those of you who like bigger dogs - this is your guy! Rilo is a 1-2 year old, 57lb (thin), tall, brindle colored boy. Our best guess is that he is a Great Dane/Shepherd blend. Rilo is a very sweet, active boy who loves to run and play. For this reason, a physically fenced in yard is preferred. Rilo does like walks too, but he is strong and needs continued training to not pull when he is excited. He takes correction well though - especially from an authoritative voice. Rilo would do best with an active family where he could get out for a daily walk or jog. He will return the favor with lots of snuggles and kisses. He is crate and house trained and does well with other dogs. Kitties we are not sure about but suspect he would do ok. If Rilo could be your canine companion match - please send an inquiry today! Rilo is fully vetted and microchipped. Please go here to see video of Rilo https://www.facebook.com/compassdogrescue/videos/564228543918232/ (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-11-13-00169Kyle - IN TRAINING (male)|
Hello, my name is Kyle and I'm a 60 pound Pitt/Shepard mix with lots of love and kisses to give. I'm 2 years old and enjoy time playing and romping around. I chew a lot, so Nyla bones and antlers are a must. I enjoy my rope as well but may get a bit carried away (they will last longer if I'm not playing by myself). I have gotten along with everyone who has come to visit, dogs and cats included. I'm both crate and pottie trained. If you are an active family looking to add a fur member who is full of energy and entertainment, then I'm your guy!! Submit your application today. I entered my 10 week prison training program on Dec 1 where I am learning all my basic commands, so please submit your application today so I can come home with you when I am paroled in early February. I'm neutered and UTD on all my vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of my own. RPSM recommends children 6 years and older. I will require a fenced in yard, either physical or underground. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. My adoption fee is $250. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-09-21-00061Buster & Lulu |
Looking for a good home for Buster and Lulu! Buster and Lulu, born September 27, 2012 are brother and sister German Shepherds. Buster is a neutered male, weighs 100 lbs. and has long fur. Lulu is an unspayed female, weighs 90 lbs and has short fur. Per veterinarian records, they are listed as German Shepherd with a small amount of Black Labrador and Rottweiler in their lineage. They are up to date on their vaccinations as of January 2017. Both are very friendly, with people and other dogs, including small dogs when properly introduced. Their compatibility with cats is not good. They are protective and will guard their territory and loved ones. They have lived inside the home, but can be acclimated to outdoor living. Both were orphaned when their owners passed away in late 2016. If possible, it is desired to keep them together as they have never been apart. They have been cared for by family at the owner's estate, but a new home has to be found as the estate is going on the market. The family is willing to pay to have Lulu spayed if that would assist in adoption. There is a fully refundable adoption fee if terms of the adoption are met and the adoption is successful. If interested, please call (586) 531-5041 and ask for Paul, or email email@example.com (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-05-02-00084Trumbull (male)|
Trumbull is a two year old goofball. He loves to go for walks and is very gentle on a leash. He has never lived in a house, so his manners aren't great. He is very eager to please and likes to learn new tricks. Trumbull loves to spend time running and playing in the yard. He has recently learned how to run next to a bike! He should not go to a home with cats or small kids. He can play rough with other dogs, but he really does like them. Trumbull is potty trained and crate trained. Plus he knows his basic commands! If you are interested in adopting Trumbull please fill out an application on our website: www.dawghous.com

German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
