Animal ID: 17-08-16-00273Primm (female)
Primm is a 93 lb. German Shepherd that is five years old. My son moved into town where there wasn't enough room for her. We took her in. However, she gets very jealous of our other dog and went after her twice. I work, and my husband is disabled and can't work with her. She is a good dog that needs to be the only dog. She chases our cats around to play with them, but they don't know she's playing. She also gets scared when there is thunder. She wants to be the owner's Best friend.

Hemi is a loving smiling pup, he sits on ur lap to watch tv. He is a loving, fun to play with pup. Human contact he needs. I recently lost a limb and my son leaving for collage, I have no where for Hemi to go. I am unable to take him where I'm at, he needs a loving home with someone who will throw tennis balls, stuffed toys or stick I fetch! I'm a good boy just want to be loved.

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-09-00654Jax (male)
Jax has been with me for almost a year. He has graduated from two separate obedience training courses. So he knows a lot of tricks and is very well mannered! He likes to go for runs/walks, will play some fetch, and enjoys rides on the pontoon! He absolutely loves all people and is great with children. I have introduced him to cats and he shows some interest but listens when told to 'leave it'. The reason why I can no longer keep him is because I am moving and he does not get along with most other larger breed dogs. However he does live with a brown lab and has learned to get along like siblings. He doesn't seem to have an issue with submissive or smaller sized dogs. Jax loves his people and uses his big head to cuddle up next to you whenever he can. He's extremely affectionate and has a huge heart which makes rehoming him a very difficult thing to do. Looking for a family or person who can look beyond his dominant nature and give him a forever place to call home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-05-00493Pickett (male)
****The website is updated several times daily. Please do not email to ask if there are still dogs/puppies available.**** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER TO ALL BASIC QUESTIONS BELOW. Please read carefully Before emailing. *Pickett is a 3-4 year old mixed breed dog. He appears to be the mix of German Shepherd and Husky or Lab. He is a great size about 65 pounds. *Pickett came into our partner rescue in January. We cannot imagine why he is still looking for a home! He is a wonderful dog who is a joy to foster. He is ready and able to be a member of a new family. Pickett enjoys being outside, and playing in the grass (or mud!). As an adult, he is calm and happy to hang out in the house with his family. He loves attention, and will try to sneak in to sit on your lap. He loves his foster mom and is very much a ladies man! *Pickett has never lived with cats to our knowledge. He has lived with middle school aged children. Pickett has not lived with toddler age children and will prefer a home without that age group. Pickett is house trained and is used to being crated. *Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares. *We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly. Prospective families must come to NORTHFIELD MN to meet. Aside from monthly adoption events, we do not meet in the Twin Cities* *Emails are answered in the order they are received. We are receiving a large number of emails, so answering promptly is our goal. If you are interested in adoption, your prompt responses are the best way to get through the adoption screening* *Paws First does not accept checks or credit cards. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY ADOPTIONS AT ANY POINT IN THE ADOPTION SCREENING PROCESS.* If you have read this far, you are ready to start the adoption process! Please email for the next step, which is a short email interview to get started. (Less)

German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Minnesota if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
