Rescue Me ID: 15-02-23-00371Savannah Jo (female)
I rescued Savannah from Anoka City Pound in Aug 2014. She had been abandoned by her previous owner with her mother, who was VERY aggressive toward her. She was scared, and malnourished. I have a 10 yr old autistic son and a 12 yr old daughter who she does WONDERFUL with. She is phenomenal with me. However, it takes her awhile to trust other adults. I haven't really had her around other children. She is dog aggressive. She recently attacked a poodle mix in my HOA (in Rogers, MN) and I am no longer able to keep her in my home. Rogers PD has deemed her a 'Potentially Dangerous' animal. This requires her owner to comply with: - License her in her resident City - Provide proper outdoor enclosure, or never tether her outside - Implant a microchip - Proper restraint of her when not on resident property (ie, leash not longer than 6', harness, muzzle or gentle leader) She is currently staying with my friend in Ramsey, MN (a man, whom she is fine with) but he doesn't have the time for her and feels bad that she's in her kennel for long periods of time. She is high energy and VERY much a puppy attitude. She still jumps on people when greeting them and gets excited. She knows a few basic commands: Sit, stay. She is house-trained and kennel-trained. She is very affectionate and loves to play fetch and tug. Ideally, she needs time and training and dog-socialization. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-13-00359Xanza (male)
He's 10 years old and in amazing physical shape. He doesn't act like a 10 year old dog. He's very hyper, energetic and loves to run and be active. He's fixed and the only minor he's ever had was he had a ear hematoma, so one of his ears flop down. But it's nothing serious according to the vet.

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-08-00649Duke (male)
Duke is a very lovable dog but needs more attention the we are able to provide. He needs a large fenced in yard to run and someone with time to spend with him. Would also make a great hunting dog with some training and he is not gun shy.He is crate trained at night but prefers to sleep with you.

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-02-00598Molly (female)
This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Molly came to me at age 5 with a history of abuse. I have worked her out of aggression and fear, however she is a highly anxious dog who needs an owner who is home or willing to exercise her a lot. She has the beginning stage of arthritis. She is aloof to other dogs/people except her sister, a corgi mix who lives in my home. She herds my other dog and is aggressive towards her. Molly paces and whines a lot and has a hard time settling down. She had been on fluoxetine but I am no longer able to afford it. I took her in as a temporary placement from her abusive owner prior to knowing what had gone on in her previous home. When I found out I told the previous owner not to come back for her or I would call the police. She willingly gave up Molly to me and I have had her since then for about 6 years. I am limited in time and money and I know in my heart I am not the right handler for her. She is miserable and my heart is broken to think about re-homing her so late in her life. But I want her to be happy. She is a special case and will need to be re-homes to an experienced GSD handler or canine professional. (Less)

Animal ID: 15-01-13-00113Kane (male)
Hi, My name is Kane. I am 7 years old and live in the country. I live with my family that consist of Dad, Mom and my little man,his name is Haven he is 4 years old and now goes to kindergarten. Mom works and Dad does too. I kinda get left alone to much they think, so they think I should find someone else that can love me, they say it wont be hard because I'm so lovable. I will miss my family but I really would like to have one that can give me more attention and a nice place to run and play with their kids or just themselves. I am great in the house, thats where I live now, and I will give you kisses if you would like, but not to many ok? I ride in the car but really don't like to. I will be a great addition to any good family. (Less)

Animal ID: D-14-084Nadia (female)
Hello! My name is Nadia! I came into the Humane Society as a stray. I was found running down a country road all alone. I didn't know where I was so I just sat down on the side of the road. I was picked up by someone on their way to work and brought here to the shelter. I am a very sweet girl and I just love to be near you. I will sit, walk nice on a leash, and I ride really well in the car too. I am not a fan of being in a kennel though. I am very curious and I will wander around just checking it all out! I get along with some dogs, cats, and I do well with children. I am looking for a family to adopt me. I am sure that once you meet me you won't be able to go home without me. I am waiting patiently for you to come in and take me home. Come in and sit with me for a while I just know that you will fall head over heels for my furry face! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-04-00351Rex (male)
Rex is a great family dog, he currently lives with six children, two male brother labs (unrelated) and two male cats. He is loving, very smart and kennel trained. He loves to be walked but will need a little help with socialization. He is only kenneled at night when it's bed time and when we leave the house. He needs a good home due to the fact that I will be traveling due to a title change at work.

German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Minnesota if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
