Animal ID: 22369Otto (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Otto is a very submissive and sweet dog. About 100 pounds. Just vaccinated on Mar 31st, 2016. I have three months of food supplies, toys and cage for him already. I need to move in a couple days and the new place does not allow big dogs. If the owner likes Otto, he or she can have him. If the owner doesn't not like him any more later on, I can take him back in about 3-4 months. A small donation can be made to ease the process.

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-02-00008Oscar (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Oscar was rescued from the Delano Animal Shelter in Delano, California. He had a hard euthanasia date. He is currently being fostered. Oscar looks like a mini shepherd or like a red fox. We think his mix is Corgi and Shepherd, best guess. He is knee high and weighs about 40lbs. Oscar is an excellent snuggle buddy. He has settled in now to his foster home and is quickly learning to become a house dog. Oscar is about 2 years old, neutered, micro-chipped and crate trained. He spent his first 2 years as an outside dog with little to no training, now he knows how to stand by the sliding door when he needs to go out and do his business. Oscar will ... (Read More)make a great companion for someone that wants an active dog that can take on adventures with exuberance, and then settle in later. Hiking, jogging, tossing a ball, he is your guy. He is sharp and intelligent, with lots of energy but also has the ability to be calm and gentle too, if the household is calm and quiet. He will need to be slowly introduced to cats or a home with no cats is good. He gets along well with female dogs, or as an only dog, male dogs need a slower introduction... depending on how 'Alpha' they are. Oscar will stand-up for himself then settle in after a while to the pecking order. Oscar may knock over small children when he gets excited so a home without small children would be best. Oscar has survived a euthanasia date, now he needs to find his forever person(s). Please note, this is not a 'free dog' situation. Any potential adopter will need to complete an application, including listing the name of your vet for current/previous animals. A home visit may be required and if you have any pets they must meet Oscar first to make sure they are compatible. A re-homing fee is required. Additionally, a gentle, experienced, pet owner that understands this dog needs to be exercised and challenged, is a great fit. Continued training is a must for Oscar. This will allow him to have a long and happy life with his new family...And yes, he is worth the effort upfront. Contact Anna through email. (Less)
