German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Vinca is sister to Bracken & Blan. She was left behind at the shelter because a private adopter wanted her. So this little girl was left at the shelter alone until we found out and took her to be with her brothers. Vinca is much fluffier than her brothers so we are not sure what she is mixed with but she is so pretty! Vinca is about 9-10 weeks old as of 7/16. ***You must provide a current vet reference*** If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we ...     What could possibly be better than one good looking, active and playful German Shepherd? How about two. Cisco and Bingo are brothers who have lived together all their lives. Cisco and Bingo both have fun and playful personalities. As soon as we met them, they were ready to stretch their legs and romp together. Cisco has the classic German Shepherd profile, while Bingo is the boy with the cute floppy ears. When they are done goofing around with each other, they are ready to seek out a human to play with, or get a good scratch behind the ear. Cisco and Bingo are also very smart, a simple latch on a fence isn't going to keep them ... (Read More)contained in a yard, and they'll be glad to play a game of hide and seek. Both brothers have keratoconjuctivitis sicca, also known as 'dry eye syndrome'. Neither dog produces tears. This disease requires eye drops in their eyes 2-3 times a day, to make sure their eyes do not dry out. They also require medicated drops in the morning and the evening. This condition doesn't slow them down, their easy going personalities makes it easy to administer the drops. Once you meet these special boys you will see how much cheer, joy, and playfulness they will bring to a new home. Cisco and Bingo are very attached to each other. We are looking to find a home for the two of them together. Please consider donating to help us cover the medical and housing costs of these two special dogs. (Less)

Kristina's foster family says......'Kristina is the most precious puppy!!! She loves playing with bouncy and squeaky toys, chasing ice cubes on the floor, catching bugs at night, playing with empty water bottles and playing with her sister Katrina! Please note we do not adopt puppies/dogs to homes where they will be alone all day. The breed & age of this pet is listed as is our best guess. We have no background info on who the mom and dad are. German Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Check out more pictures of Sasha on our website www.gsrnj.org. Meet Sasha. She recently came to the GSRNJ family after being surrendered twice to a shelter due to medical conditions. She was treated for a bacterial diarrhea, but sadly it appears to be something more than that. Sasha is 7 months young, and is a great girl that her foster pack has welcomed with open paws! Currently Sasha is not available for adoption. We need to get this girl onto a path of recovery before she can go onto her forever home. Her GI panel results indicated that she was suffering from severe malnutrition, acute pancreatitis and renal dysfunction. However ... (Read More)during her abdominal ultrasound on April 1st, the results indicated that the pancreas was fine. They suggested that the issue could instead be glandular or perhaps even diet related. We have a schedule of more tests that need to be performed to get this love bug healthy. 4/6 Update The good news first! Its not pancreatitis! Sasha's ultrasound showed that her pancreas is normal with no obstructions. But it also showed that her adrenal glands are smaller than normal. During our consult, it was recommended that we do one last round of blood work to check her adrenal function specifically, and to also switch her to a single protein prescription diet in the event that her issues are allergy related. They also said that pending the adrenal results as confirmation, she may have an insufficiency or potentially Addison's disease. Both are manageable if that's the case. We are hoping to have those results by the end of this week. If it is a food allergy, her issues should subside in the next 6-8 weeks with her current diet. But her health issues don't seem to be slowing her down. She enjoys playing with her foster pack which includes GSRNJ Alumni, Moya! Please consider donating to Sasha's recovery. We have set up a GoFundMe Page to help with her medical expenses. Anything that can be donated to her care would be greatly appreciated. Our main girl is to get this girl healthy again. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-19-00098Duke (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Handsome, strong and energetic is what best describes Duke. We don't understand why he has not found his forever home yet. He is a two year old purebred German Shepherd, who through no fault of his own was surrendered to a Pennsylvania Shelter. Now in the GSRNJ program, our volunteers are working with Duke to get to know him better. Duke's stunning good looks will turn the heads of neighbors as you walk him down the street. GSRNJ volunteers are working on his leash manners and he has come a long way. Duke does know some commands and responds to them well, but to help him reach his fullest potential, Duke will need to be enrolled in ... (Read More)training at the time of his adoption. Duke is a bit unsure of himself at first about being approached, but will warm up after proper introductions. He does seem to warm up to women faster than he does men. Once Duke warms up, he will be your best friend and will smother you with kisses. Grab a tennis ball or a toy and this boy will be ready to play. Duke is not a fan of cats and exhibits a prey drive for other small animals so he is best suited in a home with no small animals. With proper introduction he may be able to live with another large dog. The ideal adopter for Duke will enjoy providing him with daily exercise and mental stimulation, know how to be a strong leader and be prepared to have fun with this active boy. Duke is neutered and up to date on shots.     Brandi is a very well mannered 14 month old pup who enjoys learning new tricks. She walks nicely on a leash and loves to do tricks while on walks as well. She is very well versed in her commands but will need to be enrolled into formal obedience classes. She can become a little enthusiastic at times so its recommended that she goes to a home with no young children and the adopters must have a trainer in place at the time of her adoption. At home, she loves to just 'chill' and lay on her bed and play with her toys. Brandi has a very high prey drive and cannot go to a home with small animals or cats.     Are you an experienced dog owner? Are you familiar with the wonderful qualities of a German Shepherd? Ginger is a stunning, sweet, spayed, loyal, loving, housebroken, 6 year old, German Shepherd who lost her home when her family lost theirs. She is a loyal, protective girl who needs a person or family who will be loving toward her but not let her ... (Read More)push them around. Ginger loves to play fetch, runs ever so gracefully, and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and a person or family who enjoys interacting with such a beautiful, intelligent girl.
