Rescue Me ID: 17-12-16-00169TIMBER (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current

** We are not a dog pound or shelter with open hours. All dogs are in foster care. Meet & greets are scheduled after pre-adoption applications are submitted and approved. Meet & greets will begin to be scheduled on Tuesday, Dec. 19th **' ======================================== TIMBER' has TONS of personality and makes the funniest, almost 'human' faces! Timber is a sweet and loving female puppy with plenty of energy to go around. She loves chasing balls, chewing on bones, and a good snuggle. Timber gets attached to people, and will always come and say 'Hi!' when you get home. She is also very sweet with dogs, and can play for as long ... (Read More)as her friends wants. Timber doesn't mind being around cats, or other animals, and mostly just ignores them. She is always too busy playing or snuggling with people to get into trouble! Timber has been de-wormed, is current on vaccinations, leash trained, crate-trained and house-trained. (She is still too young to be spayed, as Veterinary research indicates that early spaying/neutering may have a causal link to later-in-life chronic conditions [ex. ACL issues, Cushings, etc.] because of the cut off of growth hormones). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition. German Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Hi my name is pebbles! I'll be one on January 20. I get along with cats and most dogs. I'm too much for most small breeds. I've never been around kids so kids are unknown but my energy level is high so the kid should probably be older. My downfall is I do have anxiety I don't like to be left alone and I'll try and break out of a crate if left alone I'll need to be with a family who can be home all day or at least most of the day. My family I have now loves me very much but they are not home enough for me. Please help me find a loving home! My parents are willing to lower the price in order for me to go to a good home.

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-05-00183Baxter (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baxter's owner was no longer physically nor financially able to take care of him so he was owner surrendered to MBR. Poor Baxter hadn't been to the vet in some time and had a horrible flea allergy. Baxter has had a full blood work up, a dental, and has been neutered; all is well with Baxter. Although not an easy road getting all his medical needs taken care of, he is happy and doing good. He really hopes to find a home to call his own. He does okay with the other dogs in his foster home but is kind of an attention hog. He follows his human everywhere and may enjoy being an only pet. Baxter is a good watch dog. He is house trained and ... (Read More)would prefer to be locked in a kitchen or laundry room vs a crate. He really isn't a fan of crates. He would do best in a quiet laid back home. He gets a little anxious with a lot of coming and going and noise in the home. A fenced yard would be ideal for him. No electric fence for this guy. Since we believe he has Hound him, an electric fence doesn't always work well with Hounds. weight: 45 pounds age: 6 - 8 years old adoption fee: $150 (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Riggs. He is roughly 8 months old and we acquired him not to long ago from someone that could no longer care for him. He is in a home with another bigger male dog and does fine with him. He is not good with little dogs though we have noticed. He is in a home with small children and has showed no signs of aggression with them but I would prefer he goes to a home with slightly older children due to cattle dogs being known to nip and he does so occasionally but has never harmed a child. He is a very nervous dog and has been since we brought him to our home. He is also very vocal and does not like being crated ( not a good dog for an ... (Read More)apartment). He is terrible with cats. He is 95% potty trained as long as he is taken out. We are rehoming him due to a change in our daily lives requiring longer hours at work and one of us that stayed home daily with him is now starting work it is not fair to him anymore as stated he hates being crated and will cry out for hours on end. Asking 40$ to ensure a great home he was just neutered and had rabies done in August. We never intended, keeping him but now that this has happened we are forced to rehome him. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sabrina is a 3yr old spayed female German Shepherd/ Hound mix. She weighs 36lbs. As you can see Sabrina is a tripod. She was found wondering in a ditch and was taken to an animal shelter. She wasn't using her front leg so the took an x-ray and discovered her leg was broken and it had been broken for a very long time. Sabrina also had severe hair loss and was terribly underweight. Even with all these problems Sabrina was so happy to finally be somewhere safe. She loves everyone and happily hops along with you. Her leg was useless to her so we did a favor for her and had it removed. She was so use to not using that leg that when she woke up ... (Read More)she had no issue with her leg missing. Her hair loss was just from poor nutrition and being exposed to the weather. Her hair is growing in nicely and with a little more time you will never know she was missing any. She is very sweet and just wants to be a loving and loyal companion. She has had a rough start to life but she is more than willing to give people another chance. She is great with children and other dogs. She is up to date on shots and wormed. She is already spayed. The adoption fee is $125. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-17-00145Hounddog (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi there. My name is Hounddog. I'm about 10 years old and I weigh about 40 lbs. I was seized by the pound, along with 6 other dogs, due to living in very neglectful, deplorable conditions. I am a very sweet boy! I absolutely love people and I get along well with most other dogs. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $120.00. The adoption fee must be paid in CASH. We are unable to accept personal checks or credit/debit cards for adoption fees. ALL dogs/puppies adopted from our shelter will receive their parvo distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccine (if aged at ... (Read More)12 weeks or older), be dewormed with a 3 day course of panacur dewormer, be microchipped, receive their current Ohio dog license and will be spayed or neutered. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. IF the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, lack or space, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. The adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are: Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm Saturday: 9 am- 12 pm. The pound is CLOSED to the public on Sunday. There is nobody in the office on Saturday and Sunday, so therefore we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.     HELLO!!! My name is Barbra Jeanne! I'm a two-year-old Shephard-Mix. I was rescued from a local shelter by Adopt-A-Pit Rescue! Before I was rescued by Adopt-A-Pit, I was picked up by the local shelter after unfortunately being hit by a car. I suffered some minor superficial injuries which were treated. My foster Momma thinks I'm currently healing nicely and she's so very proud how far I've come. I'm slowly emerging out of my shell and becoming more self-confident. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

'BARNEY' is the sweetest, gentlest, best disposition dog one could every meet. Darn close to 'perfect'. This handsome, 3-4 yr old, 50 lb. German Shepherd mix was rescued from a very high kill pound where he was on the 'euth list' with no hope. He smiles, wags his tail, gently sidles up to you for attention, and as you can see in the pictures, loves to ride as co-pilot in the car. Barney doesn't have a mean bone in his body & loves other dogs; especially those of an equally gentle & sweetly silly nature. Barney is a treasure and would be a delightful companion for a single adult of any age. Barney could also be a terrific family dog in a ... (Read More)home that is not too loud & boisterous. If you are interested in seeing video of Barney, please email the rescue at luvablefurryfriendsrescue@gmail.com and we will be happy to send a few to you. Barney was 'heart worm positive' and underwent treatment for this highly & successfully treatable condition. Due to this treatment Barney is not presently neutered but will be once cleared to be neutered by Veterinarian. Barney has been de-wormed, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained, house-trained and micro-chipped. Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chuckles - AVAIL! :) M, 8 y/o, 78 lbs Mastiff / Shepherd mix Neutered Chuckles respects strong but fair leadership so he'd be best with either a man or a woman who can give him that leadership. In return he is very loyal, protective, and soft-hearted to those he trusts, all about belly rubs, back scratches, hugs, and kisses! Chuckles knows the commands: sit, lay down, stay, come, and heel. He's a thick, goofy boy, short & stout and has a lot of pep and vitality. He loves to wander the backyard, go on daily mile-long walks, and even keeps up on jogs! But he seeks indoor companionship the most. He is crate trained and can be ... (Read More)crated when you're not home or overnight. He would be best in a one-on-one relationship but can be co-located with other dogs as well with proper supervision. Not recommended for homes with cats/small animals. SPECIAL OFFER: Thank you to AlphA and Omega Dog Training who has graciously provided in-home obedience training for Chuckles! They will provide 1 hour of training to whomever adopts Chuckles to show you how to lead with the verbal and visual commands that Chuckles has learned to follow. HISTORY: Chuckles ended up at the kill-shelter after a life of neglect. He was abused with collars so embedded in his neck that they had to be removed and treated by a vet. We showed him humans can be kind and gentle. When we rescued Chuckles he was drastically underweight, heartworm positive, had dental issues, and was certain to be destroyed. We had him examined and treated by our hospital veterinarians and our excellent fosters have been providing great care, nutrition, and interaction daily.
