Rescue Me ID: 13-06-05-00281Sampson (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Sampson was rescued off a freeway in California in February 2013. He was curled up by the center median in a semi remote area, he was found with a broken leg and he was emaciated. We took him to a wonderful vet who repaired the broken leg and neutered him. He is current on vaccinations and almost to full weight. He is the sweetest dog, very loyal and appears to be a purebred. However, when I first brought him back to Oregon he had very bad separation anxiety which has since greatly improved. My job requirements and his hyper-curiosity about my cats forced me to rehome him. He is has been with a coworker and her retired husband and ... (Read More)their kids for over a month. His past is unknown so his triggers are unknown. He has been around a number of adults and children and done quite well but recently he was at a park with many events going on (baseball game and practice, people running around) and a number of circumstances led to him biting two people. I do not want to have to put him down. I know in the right home he will thrive. He has only been off the streets for about 3 months, he's had extensive surgery, wore a cast for a month, has lived in 3 different homes with 3 different dogs (he currently has a 2 yr old German Shepard brother). Recommend a home where someone is home a lot, retired or works part time. Someone who is experienced with rescues (specifically German Shepard). (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-05-18-00132Sylvan (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sylvan is an amazing dog. He's been through advanced dog training and has served as a service dog for my daughter. The only reason we are re-homing him is because he doesn't get along with my cats. He will attack other animals, and is very unpredictable when he does this. He has fear anxiety but is your best friend once you get to know him.

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant

Cleo is a young German Shepherd mix rescued from a high kill shelter in CA. She is in a foster home where she is receiving on going training to improve her social skills. She is highly intelligent and a quick learner. She is still a bit dog reactive but is working through. She has lived with another male dog and generally gets along with him. Cleo would be better in a home without cats or very small children. She is crate trained. Cleo is a big wonderful goofy girl who would love to go on long hikes as well as cuddle with you at night. She will need someone committed to her on-going training and socialization. She spent a few months off and ... (Read More)on in a shelter and went through some stress as a result. She will need time to adjust to a new home but is doing beautifully in her foster home. Cleo is available through Family Dogs New Life Shelter in Portland, Ore. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Lucy is a cuddle bug, she loves to be with her person. She wants to go bye bye all the time and is perfect in the car. She needs someone who will continue the training that she has been receiving and run her. She is great on the leash and would be a wonderful running partner. She needs an owner that isnt afraid to tell her to behave. She can be reactive to certain dogs and would do best in a home without dogs or submissive dogs only. Loud, yappy or bossy dogs tend to bug her. Lucy will give you more love than you will ever know. Her house manners are good.
