Rescue Me ID: 13-06-10-00142Cody (male)
Cody is a 4 year old German Shepherd. He loves to play fetch and just be an all-around good pet for a family. He is good with livestock, chickens and other creatures. Unsure about cats. He has lived for the last year at a boarding and canine training facility in the country with a K-9 trainer with 40 years experience with German Shepherds. www.facebook.com/CleanSlateCanineRescueRehabilitation

Rescue Me ID: 13-06-05-00281Sampson (male)
Sampson was rescued off a freeway in California in February 2013. He was curled up by the center median in a semi remote area, he was found with a broken leg and he was emaciated. We took him to a wonderful vet who repaired the broken leg and neutered him. He is current on vaccinations and almost to full weight. He is the sweetest dog, very loyal and appears to be a purebred. However, when I first brought him back to Oregon he had very bad separation anxiety which has since greatly improved. My job requirements and his hyper-curiosity about my cats forced me to rehome him. He is has been with a coworker and her retired husband and their kids for over a month. His past is unknown so his triggers are unknown. He has been around a number of adults and children and done quite well but recently he was at a park with many events going on (baseball game and practice, people running around) and a number of circumstances led to him biting two people. I do not want to have to put him down. I know in the right home he will thrive. He has only been off the streets for about 3 months, he's had extensive surgery, wore a cast for a month, has lived in 3 different homes with 3 different dogs (he currently has a 2 yr old German Shepard brother). Recommend a home where someone is home a lot, retired or works part time. Someone who is experienced with rescues (specifically German Shepard). (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-05-18-00132Sylvan (male)
Sylvan is an amazing dog. He's been through advanced dog training and has served as a service dog for my daughter. The only reason we are re-homing him is because he doesn't get along with my cats. He will attack other animals, and is very unpredictable when he does this. He has fear anxiety but is your best friend once you get to know him.

Rescue Me ID: 13-04-29-00404Cleo (female)
Cleo is a young German Shepherd mix rescued from a high kill shelter in CA. She is in a foster home where she is receiving on going training to improve her social skills. She is highly intelligent and a quick learner. She is still a bit dog reactive but is working through. She has lived with another male dog and generally gets along with him. Cleo would be better in a home without cats or very small children. She is crate trained. Cleo is a big wonderful goofy girl who would love to go on long hikes as well as cuddle with you at night. She will need someone committed to her on-going training and socialization. She spent a few months off and on in a shelter and went through some stress as a result. She will need time to adjust to a new home but is doing beautifully in her foster home. Cleo is available through Family Dogs New Life Shelter in Portland, Ore. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-04-17-00464Heidi (female)
Good companion dog, not for elderly as she is a strong dog. Has been a therapy dog. She is allergic to wheat. She does not bark in the house at all. She loves to go for walks. Very good temperament. Needs immediate placement.

Animal ID: 13-01-25-00043Lucy (female)
Lucy is a cuddle bug, she loves to be with her person. She wants to go bye bye all the time and is perfect in the car. She needs someone who will continue the training that she has been receiving and run her. She is great on the leash and would be a wonderful running partner. She needs an owner that isnt afraid to tell her to behave. She can be reactive to certain dogs and would do best in a home without dogs or submissive dogs only. Loud, yappy or bossy dogs tend to bug her. Lucy will give you more love than you will ever know. Her house manners are good.

Wrigley is 1/2 German Shepherd and 1/2 Akita and weighs about 60 pounds. He goes to the vet for a check-up once a year whether he wants to or not. He is a friendly dog who likes people. My son, his owner, is leaving home and can't take the dog with him. He needs a home with a large fenced area or plenty of room. He is an outdoor dog.

German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
