Rescue Me ID: 18-05-24-00311Maxwell Sigornaphi (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Magnificent Maxwell Sigornaphi a 96 pound, 6 year old German Shepherd. Max as we call him is looking for a home where his best qualities can shine! Here are things he likes and is good at: -Max is wonderful with all people, we mean all people- little, big, young and old! He meets strangers nicely and is happy to make new friends and say 'how do you do'. He has been around children as well and is respectful and gentle with them. He is not shy or skittish in the least, and has never met a person he didn't like. He is not too overly exuberant when meeting people either-he has wonderful manners and does not jump on or overwhelm new ... (Read More)friends. -Max has nice manners in the house. He is well potty-trained, and was primarily an indoor dog so is very polite in the home. -Max walks very nicely on a leash. -Max is in great health and has had a lifetime of routine vet care. He is neutered, dewormed, up to date on all vaccinations, Heartworm negative, and microchipped. -Max is not much of a barker, only to alert to things such as a stranger coming to the door. -Max is a good eater and does not mind if people take food right out of his mouth. Here are some things Max would not like in his new home: -Other pets: Max doesn't get along with other dogs very well and is not good with cats. -Livestock: Max has chased and injured livestock before, but does just fine in a home where that is not a temptation. We think Max will shine in a home where he can be the only pet; a gold fish in a bowl is ok. He is a faithful companion and was a much-loved family pet. He lost his home due to unexpected family circumstances. Max has a big personality and is as loving and wonderfully mannered as can be. Please tell me about your family, activities, property type such as livestock right next door-. Tell me what he can expect from you and your expectations of him. His placement fee is $125. If you do not respond as requested, please do not expect a reply. State the city and county in which you live and provide you phone number and email. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-05-21-00298Charlie (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Is that a puppy? No that's just Charlie. At 24ish lbs and over 3 years old hes just a little dog in a big world. Charlie had a rough start in life and was picked up on the streets of Fresno with bite scars to the face. What happened in his youth? He still hasn't opened up about it. Hes come a long way from the fearful, unsocialized dog he was into the loving companion he is today. He is a shy guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't like to be left home alone. He is a little rude at times and has problems with impulse control, but learns quickly. Hes a wise guy with a shining personality that lights up the room but he needs ... (Read More)boundaries and discipline to keep him in line. He is working on his dog skills, and would benefit greatly from continued training. Currently he will bark and jump but can walkoff the stress or be distracted with treats. He has been in one fight, and did bite the other dog. The situation is considered by us and the other owner to be a result of the environment, where they opened the door to enter a room as we were leaving and the dogs met face to face. Charlie may have a prey drive. He has been known to chase birds and street rats. (he has never been allowed to catch any). Would not recommend to a home with chickens or rabbits. The jury is out on Cats, but we feel Charlie needs to be the only free roaming pet. He has been fine with Chinchillas and has show no interest. He can be shy to meet new people. He prefers women, he has never nipped or bitten, but will bark to alert us of people in the house. Once they sit down, or Charlie is picked up hes fine. Charlie has not been observed with Children, given his nervous nature we are not comfortable sending him to a home with young children. He is fine with teenagers and people who know how to introduce themselves to a dog. Charlie could use some dental work. He takes trazadone daily for his nerves. We feel in the right home with stability and training he could be taken off the meds. Ideally we want to see Charlie go to a house in the Suburbs. city life and apartment dwelling are stressful for Charlie. He likes jogging around a yard and running. He is quite the landscape aficionado and loves smelling plants and brushing against leaves. He has never been a digger, but is known to rake after hes done his business. This maybe territorial. Charlie loves food and Tug o war, he has a fondness for soft toys, He enjoys a quiet evening at home listening to star trek and chewing on a bone. He is a delightful walking companion, but is skiddish around buses and large trucks. He enjoys car rides, and gets in the car willingly. Charlie is being re homed because as much as we love him, and have been working with him, my partner and I have split up and individually we can not give Charlie the care or home he needs. Charlie has gotten a few bark warnings and must be out of our home by the first. We have contacted shelters and foster programs in hopes of finding him a more suitable home. Charlie is anxious when left alone. He is known to bark, its getting better, but not on the time line that is acceptable by our apartment community. Charlie comes with some baggage, but he is worth it. (Less)

Looking for a big boy, but still a gentle giant? Then you found me! Hi there, I'm Madden and I come in at around 70 lbs but I'm still a big softie. I love being active and going for walks and enjoying the outdoors, and as you can see from my picture, I also love kids. I get along with most dogs but would rather not be with a dominant male as I find we often both want to play boss dog, but with the right introduction I could easily be fine with your boy doggy. I am super easy to bath, walk really nicely on a leash and love my treats. My foster mom says I have better than average manners and I'll make a great companion. Am I for you? ... German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kingston is a very sweet boy! He's a German Sheppard Mix approx 4-5 years old. He's neutered, up to date on a vaccinations and is micro chipped. He is fairly average energy and seems happy enough just to lounge around all day! He is very well behaved on his walks, which even my 5 year old daughter can do. He seems to really like our cat and has plenty of kisses to give the kids. He does just fine with our other large breed dog. He is not food aggressive at all, but he does seem to seek it out if left unattended:) He is 100% house broken and knows where he needs to do his business. I think Kingston would do well with a gentle pack of his ... (Read More)own and in a home where people are often. I don't see him doing well by himself without other people or animals for any period of time. He has a hard time distinguishing 'his toys from my children's toys,' so you'll have to be on the look out for a few chewed toys if left laying around. Overall Kingston will make a wonderful companion and addition to a loving home. He deserves lots of love! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-06-00286Magic (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Magic was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern California. He was very fearful in that environment, but has adjusted well in foster. He does get a little protective of bhis people at times, so could use some continued work on that. We estimate that he's about 3 to 4 years old. He's fixed, chipped, and current on his vaccinations. Currently in foster in SoCal, but can come to Oregon for his forever family. Apply to adopt Magic here;:https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/aW71a6N2i7IVxuGAMdKQ13n

Animal ID: 18-02-14-00173Maui (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Maui is a 10yr old Aussie/German Shepard. I've had her for 6 years. It's been a challenge to embrace her not being comfortable with other dogs. She needs a more dominant owner that knows how to do that with lot's of encouragement. I mostly just struggle with time and money to take the best care of her. I've gotten her over her allergies and fear of children, but the leash/dog aggression hangs on. I think she could get over this too if she had more opportunity to get time with other dogs.

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-03-00082Betty (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

Meet Betty. She is one and a half years old. Betty is an amazing runner and loves to chase balls and bring them back right away! A perfect day for Betty includes chasing the ball at a soccer field, running around 1000 acres and chasing sticks, and working on tricks and training. She's extremely intelligent and loves to learn. She is definitely a working dog. Betty prefers not to be left home alone all day or to share a home with kitties or children. She loves to work and be busy and if your family is looking for a buddy you can teach tricks to and take to the river, then Betty might be the perfect pup! The ideal adopters would be a couple ... (Read More)or a family (without young children) who are interested in adopting a highly intelligent dog who does require work. Her reactivity can be worked on so the ideal new home would be someone who is compassionate, patient, and understanding of a super smart dog with fear and anxiety. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-14-00472Danny (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Danny loves the water and he is good with other dogs, kids and has lived with cats as well (he does seem like he might chase them when they run). He is mostly house-trained, and crate-trained. He weighs in at 65 pounds and is tall and lanky AND still growing. Danny is fixed, chipped and up to date on his vaccines. He was found with his litter-mates and mother dumped in a field. They were born late January 2017. Danny's mom is a gorgeous black shepherd with a lot of energy. We are guessing dad was at least part Great Dane cause he's a big boy and has some Dane looks and qualities (and the Great Dane tail). Danny has some separation anxiety ... (Read More)that results in whining/barking which we're working on at present. He would do best in a home where someone is always home or home most of the time and with a dog that is patient as he is a big baby and doesn't watch out where he walks or sits. Linus (also up for adoption) has helped him tremendously with his SA and they seem to adore each other. Linus also had SA and worked his way out of it, so it's possible with time and training and self confidence building, Danny could get past the SA. Danny is gentle and tends to adjust his energy to his environment. He is good on the leash (currently using a Halti gentle leader), has met a couple horses and seen our ducks without much reaction. He would consider chasing a cat but he seems to want to play with the animals he meets. He adores his humans so he would likely make a great ESA dog and he's smart and a fast learner so service work could be a potential but he hasn't been formally assessed. Danny is available for adoption in Oregon or Washington. Apply to adopt him here: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/aW71a6N2i7IVxuGAMdKQ13n (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-06-00401STELLA - FOSTER/ADOPT (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Stella is such a great dog. Momma is a lab mix and daddy is unknown, but possibly some sort of hound mix or shepherd. She is about 1.5 to 2 years old, spayed, chipped and UTD on her shots. She is great with kids, most dogs (prefers male dogs big or small), but plays rough with cats, so would do best in a house without kitties. She is good with car rides. She is mostly house-trained and crate-trained. She's adorable and ready for adoption! Currently in California, but can be adopted in Oregon or Washington! Rescue Me ID: 17-02-06-00490Peaches (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Peaches was surrendered after her owner passed away. She had also recently had puppies adding to her stress. She is about 5.5 years old. She is about 50 pounds. We aren't quite sure on her breed and have opinions as varied as shep/husky to rottie to dobie. She is a pretty girl whatever she is. Peaches is now spayed and is ready for a home of her own. Peaches was very loved and spoiled in her prior home and she is a sponge for attention. She is good with kids and loves people and cuddles. She's good with horses. So far she has not seemed to like cats, but she's been doing well with other dogs now (after going through a period of time where ... (Read More)she wasn't liking many other dogs). So she will need someone who will take the time to introduce her properly and integrate her into their pack. She does really like people and wouldn't do well in a situation where she was left alone for long periods of time. She also is a talker. It's very cute! Peaches is UTD on her shots, microchipped, and spayed. She is currently in foster in So Cal, but can come to Oregon or Southwest Washington for her forever home!     Babe - Shepherd Husky mix Another sweet Momma who's pups have all been adopted, so now it's her turn. Babe is about 5 years old. She is good with other dogs and is curious about cats, but so far only chases them if they run. She is house trained and good with older kids. (She doesn't like her feet & legs touched so kids need to be old enough to respect that)! Babe is spayed, chipped, and UTD on her shots and is looking for her forever home!
