Silas is a great dog! He is a big puppy who would love to find an active family to share his love with. He requires daily activity or else he gets a little antsy in the home. He is potty trained, sleeps in his dog bed, crate-trained, and does not jump on furniture. He LOVES to play fetch with the tennis ball. It is his favorite game! He will play ball for hours if you let him. He gets along very well with other dogs, kids and cats. He would do best with medium sized or larger dog as he likes to play with his paws which can be a little much for small breeds. He enjoys playing in the water but hasn't quite embraced fully swimming. Silas loves ... (Read More)going on car rides and is very well behaved in the car!     Hi my name is LUCA which means 'light bringer' and that's exactly what I love to do...light up the room and the hearts of all the wonderful people and critters I encounter along the way. I'm a very cheerful kind of guy despite the fact that I have a twisted left front leg. I'm not sure what happened to it. I simply can't remember. All that matters to me is that I can still run and play with my pals at the park and make everybody happy around me. Sometimes, my leg slows me down a little bit, but I never let that leg bring my spirits down. You see, everyday is a sunny day in my life. So, if you're feeling down and troubled, and nothing, no ... (Read More)nothing, is going right, close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there to brighten up even your darkest nights....just call out my name, and you know where ever I am, I'll come running...just to see you smile all over again!     Hi, I'm called 'Sasha' meaning helper of mankind, which is a title I'd really like to earn someday given the chance. Just weeks ago, though, I found myself behind bars in a cold and scary place in Apple Valley, CA, unwanted and unloved. I don't know what I did wrong, because I'm sweet and kind and well-behaved. Thankfully, a stranger saw the good in me, slipped me a ticket, and helped me get a ride on the freedom bus to Oregon. Now I hang out with little dogs, big dogs, and one big kitty cat. I'm house trained, crate trained, kennel trained, and leash trained. Plus everyone tells me I'm a beautiful girl. So what's wrong? I'm a little shy ... (Read More)right now and a bit worried about what is to become of me. All I want is to have a kind-hearted forever family and home to call my own. Will that be with you? (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

COLBY is a sweet awesome boy. He is unaltered and is about a year old we believe. We are guessing at what breed he is since he was a stray and no one knows but we don't think he'll get much bigger. He seems to be potty trained, he has only had a couple accidents if not taken out as soon as he eats. He gets along great with the foster's male dog and loves playing with the cats, and does well with kids. He will need to be crated while in training as he has a sneaky side and waits for the foster to go to bed before getting into trouble. Colby is a sweet boy and will be neutered before he is adopted.

This incredibly special boy is looking for a great home where he can love and be loved. He started out life in a wonderful home with lots of great care and socialization. His owners took him to puppy class, gave him the best vet care and helped him learn his housebreaking skills. Unfortunately due to major illness they are no longer able to give him the home that he needs. They are hoping he can find and extra special family to continue raising him and providing him with the best of homes. His breed is anyone's guess but German Shepherd comes to mind when you look at him although in actions he has a more Border Collie temperament. He is ... Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Chloe is very gentle and loving. She is not motivated by food or treats but by a desire to be near her person. She is the most loyal dog I have ever owned. She sits at my feet when I work on the computer and waits at the front door until I return. I adopted her when she was three and have owned her for 11 years. I would NOT be looking for a home for her now except that I have accepted a job offer in Vienna, Austria, and cannot take her with me.

German Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Here is a very shy little boy. He is trying to be brave, but it is all pretty scary for him. We estimate his age to be 6 months old & he weighs around 30 lbs. Roscoe's dad has done so much work on his fearfulness and he's made a ton of progress yet still has some to go. His dad is now very very ill and can no longer provide the care he needs. Roscoe is his best friend and it breaks his heart to not keep him but when you are no longer able to provide for your best friend, it's better to find him a new home than neglect him due to circumstance. Roscoe still needs help with his shyness and basic obedience but he's pretty low maintenance and ... (Read More)a loyal friend. He needs a new home right away. Before his adoption his foster had dogs and they helped his fear tremendously. Roscoe is ready to go so contact me for your application to adopt. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-30-00421Willis (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Many dogs will come up to a new person to sniff them as a greeting...not Willis!! This guy will roll over and lay in your lap to get to know you better. He is the definition of affectionate and happy. He has never met a stranger and everyone that meets him says he's just the best. Willis is about 1.5 years old, 45 pounds and has great medium level energy. Willis was rescued while surviving the streets of the Corridor of Cruelty with his two brothers Nemo and Arnold. They were fortunately all rescued together and are now living in a boarding/training facility to help prepare them for their new families. Willis is the clown of the group ... (Read More)and his brothers are both very reserved. He's so very loving and social that it is almost unbelievable that he spent even a day in that awful place. It certainly didn't affect his outlook on life one bit. Sadly without monthly preventatives, he was heartworm positive upon rescue. He has been treated and will be given a clean bill of health this month. WooHoo!! He enjoys spending every moment with his new human friends. It doesn't matter what activity you are involved in, he will be by your side running, fetching, swimming, sleeping or even sharing some of your unwanted vegetables. We could have named him Shadow and it would have been quite fitting. This young man really does have it all and we are so excited to announce that he is available for adoption because he is going to bring so much joy to a family. Willis is great with other dogs, big or small, and would love to have at least one to play with in his new family, but more would be great. He is a dream with kids and adults. One cannot be perfect in every single category, so he only tolerates cats, but would probably be better without one as his immediate sibling. This guy is the life of the party and has proven to be just a well- rounded, fun, silly and amazing friend. He would be a great addition to any family dynamic, but would be best in an active family with kids that will allow him to tag along for all of their family events. Willis is currently crate-trained, leash-trained, housebroken and is currently working on learning basic commands such as sit, stay and settle. You might want to hurry because this guy WON'T last long with us. Willis currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Portland because we have amazing volunteers who live here that help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including the adoption fee and transportation cost is $375. If you are interested in adopting Willis, please submit an adoption application at www.corridorrescue.org If you have any questions please contact corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-29-00583Harley (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered

My name is Harley, and I will be eight (8) years old in August 2014. I have a warn and loyal personality once I get to know you. I am well housetrained, and would love a family that has time for me and a fenced yard. An adult home or a home with older children would be best When inside I am very quiet and love to beg for a treat with my eyes. When satisfied I will find a quiet place to lay for the evening. Although I spends my time now with three other dogs in a large enclosed area, I needs a home with one-on-one attention. I am a protector. I do not like people on bikes unless I know and trusts them. I could bite someone if I feel ... (Read More)threatened or provoked by our other dogs. I have not been socialized with other dogs besides his current pack, but would probably do well in a neutral zone such as a dog park or if closely supervised. I did respond well to a training collar with the vibration setting only. I needs a home where I can get the attention I deserve. I loves to go for walks on a leash or roam free where he can be supervised. I walk with a loose leash right by your side... I don't like the stray kitties, but I do fine with the chickens. If you might be my forever new family, Please email Fran@k9homefinders.org for an application, and tell us a little about the home you have for me, where you are located, and a phone number would also be nice....I am waiting. No adoption fee, but the Application, a great home is required.....This is a courtesy ad. (Less)
