Rescue Me ID: 16-09-28-00462Diva (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Diva is a very sweet soft eared Shepherd approximately 1 year old. She is a very sweet girl and someone submissive. She is very shy and its no wonder. Poor girl is scared. She was dumped in a high kill shelter and because of her fear and sulking in a corner people passed her up day after day. She sat there for 3 months with no love very little interaction with humans and the day came she was going to be euthanized. On that day she was rescued! Now she is looking for her forever home with somebody that will love her and care for her and be patient and help her decompress a bit and come out of her shell and she begins to feel 'home' Her ... (Read More)personality is beginning to come out. She has played with other dogs and done okay but because of her fear issues can get testy so we feel best for her to be in a one dog home and get all the love and support she needs but should be able to go for walks and go to parks etc and encounter other dogs under her handlers control. She is good with kids but because of her being a little submissive we would not suggest young children as their excitement could spook her but say kids 10 and up should be absolutely fine. Will you be the one to be the sweet girls super hero and her the loving and supportive home she needs after such a difficult start in life? Gia is in California but can be transported to you for a $150 tranport fee. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dina was picked up as a stray, she is extremely fearful and will need rescue to help her. She needs time to learn to trust, she seems to want to but still won't allow petting. The shelter environment is not ideal for building trust of a fearful dog who has clearly been forced to survive alone and seems to have recently been a mama. ***********She is a gem on leash and in the car. House and crate trained. Has started to enjoy other dogs though prefers more mellow, friendly but respectful dogs. She is going to make someone very happy when she finds her forever.************ **UPDATE: Dina is doing great. She's come out of her shell and she is ... (Read More)very sweet and playful. She loves adults once she gets to know them but is terrified of kids, she'd do best in an adult only home. **UPDATE: In an effort to spare lives she is in a very temporary foster. She can not stay this is just us hoping a hero emerges this week. **UPDATE: She's doing better with some kids. She's weary but has grown to adore an 11 yr old volunteer who is working very hard with her. She's also doing well with other dogs, unsure at first but warming up faster each time. She's going to be a great dog for anyone willing to work with her. ***UPDATE: Dina is proving to also be respectful of cats. She's doing a lot better with kids (we still think she prefers kids over about age 6) she is timid upon first meeting new people but she warms up faster each time and seems pretty comfortable with most. ************DINA IS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BUT CAN BE ADOPTED INTO OREGON.     They call me Branson and I'm about 6.5 years old. Everyone says I'm a very handsome boy. After my past owner died in the home in California, animal control came, grabbed me, and threw me in a concrete cell. I was confused. What happened? Where am I? I was then rescued from the kill shelter in Hesperia, CA, and brought to Oregon. Right now I am in the Portland, OR area, in a foster home until I can find my forever family. I'm house, leash, crate, and kennel trained. I'm very children and people friendly. Although I've been around other dogs, I would prefer not to share my home with other canines because I've been so deprived of love and ... (Read More)attention in the past. I love to be outside, but I like to be inside with you as well staying close by. I'd love to walk, hike, and even jog with you. I might be middle-aged but I'm pretty healthy and spry. I'm looking for someone with a backyard that I can relax and play in. My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes my neuter, vaccines, rabies shot, microchip, collar, & leash. So, if you're interested in finding a new best furry friend and family member, I promise to shower you with love, kisses, and a ton of tail wags in return. Please email us and we will send you an adoption application to start the process. Thanks so much! (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Let me introduce my handsome self to you. My name is Boone. I am a 4-5 year old Lab and German Shepherd mix. I am fully vetted, neutered and have all my shots. I am a very affectionate boy and while not a puppy anymore (so I don't chew things like puppies or mess in the house and be totally trusted to be alone at home for hours), I still have lots of energy to do whatever you want whether its jogging or just hanging out. I'm a very smart boy, good with most dogs and fine with kids. I'm house trained and I do like a crate, too. I was in a county shelter for eleven months alone and looking for someone just like you to open your heart and home ... (Read More)to me. My two rescue heroes, Debbie and Bruce, volunteers from the Puppy Coalition, found me and said, 'That's long enough. You are coming with us, Buddy.' I walk well on a leash and I really really love to go for walks. I just want my own home and my own human to love.. Won't you give me the chance to show you how much I will love you and be your Furever? The volunteers that care for me at the kennel said that my little ad on the whole world wide web might be the best way to let people know about me and that --- just maybe --- the person who is suppose to find me will find my little ad.. Is that you? Could it be? Geez, I hope so. The adoption fee is $100 to cover some of my expenses. Please, PM Debbie Snow for any additional information. Hope to see you soon. Paws crossed hard, Sincerely, Boone Boone is in California but can be transported to Oregon. Transport fee is $150 (Less)

Animal ID: WGSRsvs092116SAM VON STRADTRODA (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sam von Stradtroda is a stunning 6-7 year old, very well trained German Shepherd, that needs a loving forever home. He is currently housed in temporary kennels in Los Angeles and is hoping to live in the Pacific Northwest some day soon. Sam is everything you have dreamed of in a German Shepherd: strong, loyal, intelligent and sweet. He is a mid-energy guy that loves to show off when playing fetch. He loves his toys and displays some characteristic working-dog traits. Sam shows you his affection by giving you his toys and has been known to present his favorite Frisbee to his handler's friends to throw for him. Once Sam bonds with you, he ... (Read More)will demonstrate his loyalty by protecting you from others and will need proper introduction to your house guests. Sam is not bothered by loud noises and seems especially drawn to fire trucks and police cars (perhaps showing his inclination to work), but he is not a fan of bicycles or skateboards screaming by him on the sidewalk. In his foster home, Sam has shown remarkable house manners. He will only get on furniture if invited. He is also housebroken and non-destructive when left alone. Sam is so intelligent -- he knows his advanced commands in English and in German and always seems to understand you. He even knows his toys by name. Sam would love to be in a home where he is the only dog with a GSD-savvy, mature owner, and no children. He does prefer females but will also bond with a man. If you are a person alone or a female couple needing protection from intruders, Sam would be your perfect match, especially if you have a big yard for him to play fetch in. If you adopt Sam, you will find yourself with the most loyal and devoted friend you'll ever have. Sam's adoption fee is $245 plus fees for transportation to OR/WA and a health certificate. Ground transportation up the Interstate 5 corridor is available for approximately $225 and takes about 24-30 hours from LA. Please email us and we will send you the link for his application. Once you submit your application, someone will call you from Westside German Shepherd Rescue of LA to discuss Sam's attributes and characteristics with you in detail. Thank you for reaching out to a rescue to adopt your next dog! (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi Everybody, We are Gia and Ali, 2 year old, German Shepherd sisters that were rescued from a kill shelter in Hesperia, CA. We are very friendly. We love children, adults and other dogs, but we don't know any cats. We are crate, kennel, leash, and house trained. We know some of our basic commands, too. We've had a tough beginning to life because we don't look perfect. My ears don't stand up (Gia) and my one ear is a bit goofy (Ali) but we are still very sweet and smart pups that just want to please you. We are a bonded pair. Sometimes people think that it is too much work to take in two dogs together at the same time, but we would play ... (Read More)together in our yard and exercise ourselves, if we had some property to run on. Gia really needs me (Ali) to restore her confidence in herself and not feel afraid of 'the bad guys' anymore. Once we know we are safe with you, we are all smiles and fun. Our adoption fee is $250 each for a total of $500 which includes our spays, our vaccines, our rabies shots, our micro-chips, our collars and leashes, and our transportation to Oregon/Washington up the I-5 corridor. Our transportation has been paid already by another sponsor, so we get a free ride to the beautiful Pacific Northwest! We will make you smile and laugh and give you cuddles and hugs forever, if you adopt us. We offer you all that pet therapy for just a cozy home, a warm bed indoors, and a loving family in exchange. Please adopt us and take us home with you. We are in desperate need of a dog-lover's love! (Less)

Lovely Ms. Nellie was scheduled to go home with new family - however, unexpected family emergency dictates they cannot take her for several more weeks; I am uncomfortable holding her these additional weeks- and pass up on an equally lovely family. So she is back up for adoption. She is a 3 year old spayed weighing in at approximately 65 pounds. She loves to play- especially ball; she loves to swim, ride in the car and snuggle- under the covers. Family illness leaves pop and grandchildren with weeping hearts- now in foster- she is ready for a new home,. She was not abused or neglected! She was well loved. She will be protective of her ... (Read More)person and children- so care should be taken when meeting new people to assure her they are ok and welcome. A family life style that has a lot of people running in and out- may not be the best fit. She has met other dogs and done well- but has not gone to off leash dog parks. The preference is that not with small children- because of her tendency to be protective- and a family willing to continue with obedience training- . She is not a digger, a fence climber- and not a wanderlust- she enjoys very much being with her family. She is crate trained as a happy place. Please tell me about you, your family, other pets, yard, own or rent; your expectations of your new pooch, what pooch can expect from you! Please provide this information and city in which you live with contact phone number. This is not a first come first serve placement. The objective is to find the perfect home for pooch and family.     Duke here! It is always nice if you send an inquiry about a specific adoptable guest via email to tell us about you, your family and other pets, your yard, and most importantly, your expectations of your new family member so we can answer your questions appropriately as best as possible. Please, if you email an inquiry, please understand that these animals are in the shelter for a variety of reasons: Their lives are upside down maybe because owner died, they got lost, were abandoned, owner lost home or had a life event that left their pet in need of a new home. We don't always know how they will get along with all dogs, all children. Some won't be a perfect family member right away! They will need love, patience, a strong owner who will let them know what is expected of them and what they can expect from their new family. It may take an afternoon or it may take a week or so! But they need homes and families who will bring them back to knowing what family is! Puppies: Please understand they are puppies; not potty trained; not good or bad with kids, dogs, cats. He is now ready to be adopted. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. He is located in Astoria and can be met there now for a deposit, or in Portland around mid-June for ...     https://www.missgabriel.org/banks.html https://www.facebook.com/MrBanks2012 Mr. Banks German Shepherd Dog Meet Mr Banks. He is a 4 years young German Shepherd Dog whose interests include cuddling, walking, hiking, and carrying around anything he can find with his mouth. He loves having toys to play with, so his new home will need to provide him with his own toys, bones, playtime, and some training to keep his mind and body healthy. This sweet boy is house trained, is somewhat leashed trained (better with a leader), has a few basic commands down, he gets along well with people, children, and some dogs. He has a prey drive so he nips cats ... (Read More)and small dogs. Banks likes to cuddle with you or lay down with you, wherever you may be or whatever you may be doing. He is a lover, not a fighter! He is a very sweet and goofy dog. Mr Banks is always one to share his toys with you and get you interested in what he finds interesting. Banks will be happiest when he can be a part of his person's daily activities. His family will need to be sure that Banks feels like he is part of a close knit group. He is neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated, licensed and has a complete health workup. Mr Banks is still growing his fur on his body from the neglect he was rescued from. Banks received two recessive genes from his inbreeding parents. One is partial albinism and the second is slight gigantism. Due to Banks being left in a backyard for his whole life, he has not had opportunity to be socialized properly. This leaves him over excited about meeting other dogs that some dogs find this frightening or threatening. He will need more work with introductions. He will go home with his new family with all his medical records and DNA test results. Are you looking to add a big, handsome, active, smart, loving boy to your family? What about a social companion ready for any adventure with you? Come see Mr Banks! He is available for adoption through the Miss Gabriel Foundation. A $250 Adoption fee applies.
