Animal ID: Lady DiLady Di (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

LADY DI, a cute shepherd mix, is a super sweet, loving, kiss-a-holic who needs someone to give her a wonderful home. Lady Di is about 2-3 years old and weighs about 44 lbs. She's always happy to see other dogs and seems to know cats, but wants to keep her distance from them. She walks on a leash pretty well with a little pulling. She shows no signs of aggression and just needs to find a human to make her feel secure and loved. Open your home up to her and she'll give you kisses for a lifetime. LADY DI is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on core vaccines. Adoption fee is $325. Please note that training is highly recommended for all ... (Read More)young dogs. As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing. Visit WWW.LULUSRESCUE.ORG and click on the ADOPT tab for an overview of Lulu's Rescue adoption process. German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

CLARK is a German shepherd about 6 years old who was found as a stray. He appears to be purebred but we have no way of knowing for sure. He had hip dysplasia and underwent surgery to correct it. He is walking well and has no problem now. He also was neutered. CLARK went to a home briefly but did not get along with the cat, so we are saying no cats. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who just keep smiling through it all. Our shelter is in rural PA; closest city is Pittsburgh. Please map it before you contact us and make sure you are willing to drive the distance to meet the pet. We require a meet and greet with any other dogs in the home.

Ruby is beautiful and she loves the people who live in the house but she does not like other animals and she barks and growls (but has calmed down with) other people. She does not get along with our Yorkies (our little girl Yorkie barks and bears her teeth at Ruby) and we must keep them all separated due to this. Ruby likes to play but she can also relax with you. The best home for Ruby will be with adults that currently do not have any pets and understand the breed.

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bailey is a 6 year old shepherd/beagle mix (Best guess, she was a rescue from Arkansas). She weighs ~80lbs. We've had a few instances where she has become aggressive toward our other pets (1 dog, and 1 cat) when they were throwing up. Something triggers Bailey to attack the other animals. I've listed that she's not good with other dogs, cats, or kids. She has never shown aggression toward our kids (we have a 19 month old and a 3 month old), but we also don't want to find out the hard way that the kids are also susceptible to this behavior. She is otherwise an excellent companion. She has been house-broken since she was a puppy and follows ... (Read More)commands great (sit, lay, shake, stay). She has never shown any aggression toward people, adults or otherwise, and I am sure she would do great in a home with adult companion(s). She was spayed as a puppy and is up-to-date on all vaccinations. She also has a microchip which can be updated with new information any time. (Less)

My boy Audi is a German Shepherd Japanese Akita mix, he is one and a half years old and he is in need of a loving individual who can temporarily house him for a week to a month. He is fear aggressive and is not always welcoming to new people unless they have ample treats. He is a rescue that i adopted when he was one year one month. I do not know any of his early puppy history as far as his previous homes, nor do I know any information about his parents. I am in a situation where I am being forced to give him up immediately because I am currently living with my parents and they do not want him here because my brother and Audi dont get along, ... (Read More)and they dont have time to train or work with him to get past his behavior issues. He has nipped a few people who have come into the house unannounced as well and my parents are not willing to have him scare off visitors. He has not broken skin or drawn blood. He does do well when properly introduced to strangers outside of the home and is completely loyal and loving when he grows to respect you. He lacks training and socialization from birth til I adopted him so he does have fear and anxiety based aggression where he barks and lunges to scare off strangers and I have been training him to curb this behavior but I think it has been accidentally been trained into him since I'm unable to control every aspect of his interactions here at my parents. I DO NOT plan on giving him up and I AM NOT willing to take him to a shelter where I believe non-Shepherd humans will deem him unfit to be adopted. I WILL NOT let my boy be put into a situation where he no longer receives the proper love training and human understanding that only German Shepherd owners can provide. I am in a very crappy situation, I will be homeless with my boy if I dont find him a foster home by the end of the day, and my parents are very stern about me giving him up to a shelter which i refuse. I NEED HELP!!! Please, if you are able to foster my little boy for a week to a month until I can save enough to get a place or if you know any shelters, organizations, trainers, kennels, anyone or anything that could help me place my boy until I can get my feet on the ground and get him back email or call me asap. She is an active dog and used to being surrounded by people and lots of dogs. Ella has a mild case of separation anxiety and hates being alone or away from her people. He could let you pet him one minute, then later growl, nip, our bump you from behind. We have tried various muzzles but our other dog keeps removing Rutger's muzzles. We hired a private trainer to help him overcome it and there was progress, but we can't get him completely over it. We checked with our local SPCA and they said their only ... (Read More)option is to euthanize him. He is a really great dog, but the fear aggression poses a threat. With the right group or someone who understands the condition and will work with him, he would make a great companion. But if we can't place him,we have no choice but to have him put down. (Less)

Hello! My name is Layla. I just turned 3 years old in October. I'm looking for a new forever home. I need someone who is experienced with rescued shepherds.. I was rescued. I've come a long ways since being rescued. I can't live with any other animals or children. I have fear aggression towards men due to my past. Once I trust you I will protect you with my life and become very lovey. I love to be petted and have my belly scratched. I also like to play with lots of toys and ropes. Just give me some time to adjust to my surroundings and I'm a very wonderful pet. I prefer a woman to give me a new home, who will be patient and ... (Read More)work with me on becoming an even better dog than what I've already become. Also I would like someone who can spend a lot of time with me. I don't like loud noises or loud voices. It makes me very scared. I have a rehoming fee of $250.00. Please contact my owner with any questions you have about me. Thank for looking at a glimpse of my story and hope to meet you soon. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Leon is a young guy who has spent a lot of time on his own (about 4 months). He is about 2 yrs old and will do about anything for food. Leon was born with a deformed rear paw. Two bones in his foot have formed to make one bone. Sometimes he will hold his paw up and keep on going. His disability has not slowed him down. Leon learned very quickly to trust people but sometimes loud noises still scare him. A home without young children would be best for Leon. A meet and greet is required with any other family pets and any potential adopters will need to spend time at the center to gain Leon's trust.

Jasmine is a 18 month old GSD mix. She is about 40 pounds. Jasmine loves other dogs and should probably go to a home with at least one other. She is very interested in cats so maybe not good with ones that dont like to be bothered. She will chase but if they stop she will lick them. Jasmine has not done well at visits and has shown some aggression. In her foster home she shows NONE. We are hoping with time she will relax enough to be open to having a new family.
