Personality: High Energy, Submissive

Possibly a German Shepard lab mix. We were working in the front yard and she came up to us. We took her in and tried to find the owner for three weeks now but no success. She gets along with my dogs (2 beagles and a toy poodle). She must be younger bc she has that 'puppy energy.' She is very smart, I've gotten her to sit, lay down and walk on a leash without pulling. She responds to me when I say 'no' and will submit. Would love for her to go to a good home!

Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Beautiful, AKC registered German Shepherd, Male, Black and Red, 6 years old. Zeus has an incredible personality, he gets along great with other dogs, has a very calm demeanor, and will be the most loyal dog you ever own. He was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and needs surgery on his right hip, in order for him to be completely pain free. He is currently on Glucosamine supplements to manage pain, but would really benefit from a Femoral Head Ostectomy. Also, has some seasonal skin allergies, so normal baths and maintenance is required for that. I have owned Zeus for over two years, and he has been an inside dog, as he loves to be with his owner ... Unfortunately, at this time, I am not in the financial position to meet his particular needs, in order for him to truly feel better. Please call or text my cell, 803 508 5610, for any questions! Animal ID: Bumble  (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Bumble. He was saved from a man who operates as a rescue. Bumble was one of his 'breeders' that he used to breed for puppies and 'adopt' them out for a fee without any vetting. Unfortunately, there are scam rescues out there and Bumble is a victim of that. Originally he was found as a stray and picked up by Animal Control. This rescue in Dalzell SC pulled him and then used him for breeding for years without medical treatment. Eventually, his injuries got so bad the man finally let a real rescue take him for medical treatment. The vet said the wounds were old and infected and the tissue could not be saved. He also verified they ... (Read More)were not from a bite from another dog but seemed like a cut from a knife. Bumble additionally had holes in his legs that looked like punctures from a screwdriver as they were too large for teeth puncture wounds. This boy has been through the ringer. His wounds have been treated and he is in foster care with a family and other dogs. He has learned to take walks on a leash and love life!! He hasn't shown a single aggressive tendency even with his history. He's a gorgeous boy despite the cut ear and scars. He is also smaller in size. Bumble is about 5 years old. He deserves a loving family to cherish him for the rest of his days! Please visit our Facebook page for more information and pictures. Bumble is fully vetted and ready for adoption! (Less)

Lola was rescued from an abusive home as a very small puppy. She is a playful, sweet and high-energy puppy. She is around 6 months old now. She is an easily trainable puppy and already knows some commands. She gets along amazing with other dogs and cats. She is protective and patient with my 2 yr old. She loves to be in the house but needs a big fenced yard to play in. The ONLY reason I can't keep her is my living situation isn't fair to her and she has to stay in the house all the time.

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Date into Rescue: 9-12-15 Reason for being in rescue: Found as stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Weight: 37 pounds Height: Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? What kind of home would be best for me? Paco would be best in a home with a big yard where he could run and play freely. He thrives on people and would love a family that would throw a tennis ball for him until him and his family are both worn out. Paco also loves affection and would love to have a family of his own to show his love to while being loved on! He would do the best by being either the only dog in the house or if he was accompanied by the ... (Read More)right little dog, Paco doesn't really like big dogs. This boy is intelligent, obedient, affectionate, gentle, goofy and loves to play! How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly (especially if you have a tennis ball!) House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: 3 years old Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shannon's story is very unique and worth telling. She was found as a stray with an older male and female dog who we believe were her parents. They were both Shepard mixes, so we believe Shannon is as well although she is a much shorter, skinnier version. They were all feral when they arrived, but with the love and compassion of our employees they have warmed up and shown us their sweet, loving side. Shannon's parents have been adopted but Shannon is still waiting on her forever home. She can still be very shy and timid and she needs a little bit of time to warm up to you. Her favorite game is 'catch me if you can.' Shannon would do best ... German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My wife and I have raised some smaller breed dogs in our lifetime such as our cocker spaniel who passed last summer. But we had some friends whose pure golden retriever and pure German Shepherd had puppies last fall. And, so we took a chance on a larger breed dog even though we have young kids and a very small piece of property in a cul-de-sac neighborhood. We unfortunately think that we need to find Emmett a family who can take care of him better than we can. He is pretty high energy and he probably needs a home with a much larger yard and maybe with other dogs. He is fairly well trained- he will sit and lie down on command and he will ... (Read More)come on command and he can shake hands. The retriever in him makes him a bit mouthy, meaning that he wants to chew on something constantly or hold your hand or arms in his mouth, haha. I have been working with him a bunch on this. He has grown up with a cat and he and the cat wrestle and play together all the time, he is never aggressive, and the cat is as much the instigator if not more so. He is just too big for our two kids and too much energy for them and a little too rough with them bc they are small. It's nust his size, he is 80 pounds, my kids are 60 pounds and 30 pounds, 8 and 5 years old. He has never bitten anyone and he is not aggressive at all and gets along with almost all other dogs. He is unfortunately stuck in our house indoors 90 percent of the time and it is really not what he needs. And unfortunately we can't leave him out during the day when we go to work because he is very mouthy and he will destroy something if he is left alone long enough. We gave it a year, and we never thought we would be a family to give up an an animal, so it makes us feel terrible, however it probably is better for him to find some space and some family to really put some love into him. He is really pretty and I will load pictures soon, but he looks just like a yellow lab with a longer face, and he is super strong and fast. He has caught a bird or two mid flight and has grabbed at east one chipmunk that I know of. Call with any questions. Thanks. Also, he has gotten neutered recently, and he is up to date with all vaccines, plus a few extras due to us hiking a lot (vet recommended). (Less)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Keno came to me a few years ago as a rescue, I was told they couldn't find a home and he would be put down. I thought it should be no problem to train him and socialize him with my huskey. They got along great (she was also not spayed) they had a litter and we chose to keep a son. They all got along great and played until memos health started to decline. Keno was stung in the eye, making his sight in that eye bad. He was taken to the vet but the medication didn't seem to make it better. After which he busted the Cartledge in his ear (in the picture you can see one no longer lifts) this has increased his ear infections. This dog is part of ... (Read More)my heart, on of my 'fur children', but I took on a task I cant handle. He is very loving but I can't afford the healthcare he needs, I can't afford to take him to the vet, I can't afford to fix ether any of my dogs, and kenos health is decreasing which has now made him hostile with my other two dogs. He's house trained, knows simple commands and is the best cuddler in the world, Im in tears writing this, but it has come to the point where I need to put my babies health before my own wants. Please help me find him a new home or an organization that can take him in, heal him, and rehome him. He is so great and doesnt deserve to go to the kill shelters down here, but he doesn't deserve to be sick and hungry either. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

We saved Dakota from a high kill shelter as she was running out of time. We were told she had possible kidney stones and was urinating blood and needed out ASAP per shelter vets documentation, with surgery needed to remove the stones. She was utd on shots, spayed and good with other dogs per shelter, which we have since discovered she certainly is protective of her humand and isn't really friendly towards other animals. We immediately took her to the vet and upon examination, and x-rays he told us he couldn't justify doing surgery, because he did not feel or see any stones. Dakota has begun her heart worm treatment and is doing great with ... (Read More)her foster. Dakota will continue on her heart worm treatment, and will be spayed very soon. She is listed as Border/Collie/Shep. Chocolate, born 3/23/2013. She was an Owner surrender at a high kill shelter. She is available for adoption but must complete her heartworm treatment & spay surgery. She probably would be better in a home by herself, or with just one other dog. Previous owner said on intake sheet, she likes children (probably older children, not unsteady toddlers), dogs, cats and livestock, but we believe she would need re-introduced to other animals prior to adoption. Her breed is very protective and needs a strong human leader in the household. Download an application at our website: wwwcarolinahelpingpawsrescue.org (Less)
