Rescue Me ID: 14-12-19-00393Bullitt (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey, I pulled a dog from OCHS around 5-6 months ago. He was their problem child, and had been returned 3 times for fence jumping, cat/livestock chasing/ separation anxiety(he went through their window.) He was underweight, and had no muscle mass left. I took him through Training at Anderson Dog works, and he passed his CGC. He is a wonderful dog, he just needed a chance. He is very high energy, and really wants a mental challenge. If he gets loose, he will take off. Problem is, I am going back to school full time. I also just found out that I am moving back to FL, and it would be way to hot for him to get the stimulation he needs daily. I ... (Read More)really need to find him a new home. He has been an awesome hiking partner, nothing fazes him. He does well with other dogs, as long as they are not to 'dominant' (hate that word) He will not start a fight, but he will finish one. He is a GSD mixed with Norwegian Elk Hound. His Name is Bullitt, UTD on shots, neutered, and microchiped. He Must be supervised when out side, and must be in a fence or on leash, unless you have a kennel with a roof so he can not climb/jump out. I'd also keep him crated when you are not home. NOT GOOD WITH CATS!!!!! Would be an awesome dog for a truck driver, he loves car rides, and will try and drag you to your car if you let him. He rides in the back of my Mini Cooper. Please only text, unless you are a rescue. I don't always answer unknown numbers, due to spam calls. (Less)

Precious baby! I fell in love as soon as I saw her. She is amazing! Sid is vet guessed to be 3-4 months old. She was found as a stray in a severely emaciated and dehydrated state on one of the coldest nights. Luckily, a family stopped and picked her up. She was covered in fleas with overgrown nails too. The poor thing has been neglected for most of her short life. But she is SWEET. Sid walks on the leash like a pro, adores children, is good with cats, and great with other dogs. She also seems to be crate trained, and enjoyed the car ride. This little one is a diamond in the ruff. She has been dewormed, bathed, nails trimmed, vaccinated, ... (Read More)heartworm tested negative, and started treatment for demodex. Surprisingly, she has a very soft velvety coat. This little angel is hard not to love and a family will be lucky to adopt her and watch her bloom and grow! Sid loves to cuddle with her humans and is so happy to be warm and loved. Adoption fee is $150 to assist with medical expenses and help save another dog in need. Adoption application can be found at forbellessake.org or on our Facebook page. (Less)

Tested negative for heart worms. Microchipped. Unfortunately, my busy career prevents me from providing him with the wonderful life he deserves. I can no longer continue being selfish and keeping him. He knows basic commands, is 90 lbs., tall, still has puppy curiosities. House trained. Will include his crate.

German Shepherd Mix

Personality: Somewhat Dominant

This dog was found in the North Main neighborhood or Greenville SC. He was taken to Animal Control. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-19-00406Max (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Ok first thing you need to know about Max is, he was a stray dog prior to living with me. When I found him he was extremely malnourished. He was about 7-8 months old at the time. He was not aggressive at all, he was scared, a little nervous, but not ever not even once did he bark, growl, snarl, or show any negative aggressive behavior towards me, my husband, my kids, nor my other 3 dogs. He was very sweet. When we took him to the vet to my surprise, he did not have any parasites, no heart worms, hookworms, nothing at all. He was just very extremely Malnourished. He was scanned for a chip, didn't have one. The vet said all he needs is a lot ... (Read More)of TLC and food and water and we got ourselves a healthy beautiful new family member. Second thing you need to know about Max is he DOES NOT like cats!! He's a very high energy dog. He loves to play. Although he is good around my children, he needs a lot of training. He does like to jump up on people. He has never bitten one of my kids, but he has knocked them down just playing and trying to give them lots of love and kisses. He does very well when getting a bath. I usually give him a bath in the tub, but I have also given him a bath outside with the hose (not on a hard spray). He has been to the dog park a couple times. He did very well he was not aggressive there was no fighting. But he did show signs of dominance trying to mount the other males at the park. Those male dogs were very submissive because they didn't do anything to Max when he tried to mount them. I know a lot of people keep sending me messages asking me if he is a purebred. I am not an expert on the breed. To me he appears to be a purebred although his ears are not standing up. The only way you can find out if he is a purebred is to have a blood test done. I never really cared if he was a purebred or not I love him no matter what. The reason I am trying to rehome Max is because we moved to a neighborhood where they have breed restrictions. I really do not want to rehome him. He's been staying with my brother for several months now and unfortunately my brother is not very good with dogs. I trusted him to take care of him and he promised me he would. His last visit to the vet he tested positive for heart worms and that broke my heart. It's because my brother does not clean up his kennel as I had asked him to several times. He is on heart guard. Max is NOT neutered as of right now, but he will be neutered prior to going home with whomever may adopt him. The reason I am having him neutered is because I do not want him used for breeding purposes. I would like Max to go home with someone who has a big yard. Someone that can give him the love and attention that I can not give him right now because he deserves it. He needs someone that can give him a forever home not a temporary home. He is a big dog so whoever adopts him needs to be fully aware of what they're walking into. I wouldn't recommend you to adopt him if you've never owned a dog before. He need someone that is experienced someone that can train him. If you are interested in him and have any questions or concerns or anything please email me do not hesitate to ask any questions. Just know that I'm not just going to hand him over to anyone. I want to know that you are suitable adopters. Someone that can provide him with a good home a stable home. He was a stray before I found him and I never want this dog to end up on the streets ever again. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 12-06-20-00163Lady (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lady, 7 year old German Shepherd Dog, lives with 4 children at this time. She is a guardian, a loving playmate, loves to fetch, go for walks, ride in car, play at beach. Easily excited when you mention 'frisbee, ball, walk, ride, play, potty, treat' or when you pick up a leash. She will jump right into the car and sit. She will not get on furniture. She will not run off if you take her in front yard while you are out there (highly not recommended until she has been with you for a month or so and you establish dominance/ control) fully housebroken and lets you know when she has to go! She will sneak a sandwich off the counter if you go out of ... (Read More)the room! She will protect and needs a strong minded, experienced handler. She is great with women, she takes getting used to men to be OK, which can be a good thing for a stay home wife or a family where Dad works shifts, etc. New family must have fenced yard and one of the adults must have experience with GSDs. Lady must also be an only pet or if you have a dog, is should be a more submissive one. Marine Corps family needs to find this dog a home ASAP. There is a vet reference check as well as home visit required to adopt her. There is a $100 adoption fee if all works out. She comes with a huge custom built dog bed, 2 elevated bowls, 8 months of heartworm preventative and her leash and harness. Lady is returnable to us for any reason at the adopters expense/travel arrangements but the fees are non refundable. This is to keep her from going to an unsuitable home or being surrendered to a shelter or pound or worse. We want to maintain contact with new family via Facebook or email indefinitely as to her well-being and progress. Interested candidates for adoption should email me via their First & Last name, address, phone #, veterinarian name & contact info (you must have an established record of pet care that they can verify previous pets were well cared for) and a personal reference name/ contact info as well as pictures of the general area she will be (living room, etc) and the yard/fence. And we will go from there. Email 'Trainer4you@msn.com' UPDATED 10/22/14: 7 yo spayed female GSD needs new home with no small children ASAP. The good: Utd on everythjng including heartworm prevention. 'Perfect house dog' as in completely housebroken, doesnt chew, needs no crate, can stay all day if you go out without having accident etc. Great car rider, obedient (over 2k in training), protective and loyal The bad: In getting a little bit older, she has become less and less tolerant of children and we have 5 of them, down to age 3 months! She is agitated by them running into her and has begun growling when they step on her or even when they touch her! It had escalated to.snapping at them. **Qualified home would have responsible adults that recognize the needs of this breed, their need for exercise and stimulation, would have a large fenced yard, no small dogs and children old enough to respect her and not fall on her, and the ability to play fetch with her daily to *release her energy needs! She is an indoor dog only. She potties and comes right back in unless you are out with her. She is not a chain or yard dog. She is also not a furniture dog, she has a bed and has never been allowed on the couch or bed. If left out, she will bark at the door until you get her back in. Also, candidate MUST be willing to send updates and pictures when requested and agree to a home check. I can bring her to you with her things and that would suffice. Also, a vetreference to ensure you would take care of her and keep her on her heartworm preventitive. And lastly, own your home or have written permission to have a german shephard on your property and in your home. If you are going to geg rid of her because of a pcs or deployment, dont bother please. She needs a forever home for her last 5-8 yrs. We have had her since 12 weeks old. She comes with a huge custom built dog bed that is painted teal and has a nice upholstered headboard. Also a few months of hw prevention left. $100 adoption fee. looking to rehome immediately serious inquiries only. (Less)
