This is a dynamic duo that MUST remain together. They are extremely bonded. Both are housetrained and healthy, active and happy mutts. Due to failing health in the household, we are unable to properly keep up with their training; they are VERY well-socialized. They do quite well with cats, other dogs and children. They are house-dogs only - no outside chains, no being left alone in kennels or runs. They will come with an indoor kennel (Spencer is well-trained with it; LeeLoo likes to 'steal' it when Spencer isn't using it) as well as any remaining Iam's Smart Puppy formula we have at the time of their adoption, their bowls, toys and collars and leashes. They cannot be left outside unattended for long periods as they are both diggers, and both love to drag logs from the woodpile to spread all over their play space. They DO bark but not to excess and are not at all aggressive. They are very much loved, which is why we're looking to re-home them. We don't feel as though we're the best possible home for them any longer. LeeLoo was going to be abandoned by her owners so we took her in. She appears to be a shepherd cross; we were told she was born in late May of 2014. She is spayed and current on shots except for her DHLPP/Corona booster. This dog is hands-down one of the most intelligent I've ever known - she picks up on training extremely quickly. She loves to play and will chase a laser pointer until she is exhausted. Snuggling and kisses are a top priority for her and she's pretty sure she's a lapdog. We believe she would thrive as a working dog. We are asking for a vet reference, at least three personal references and a donation of $100 to Humane Society of the Black Hills. (Less)

German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in South Dakota if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
