Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Bella is a wonderfully loyal (and petite!) German Shepherd mix. She possesses a gentle confidence and thoroughly enjoys being close to her family. She loves water and the outdoors, and gracefully handles everything from routine walks to rugged hikes. She also loves being around people- kids included! - and will show her affection with many kisses. Bella is healthy, up to date on her shots, and housetrained (she can even do well for over 8 hours without going outside). Bella has been well loved, but due to an across country relocation with housing that does not accommodate dogs, her owners are seeking to re-home her to a loving family.

I want to place my dog in a new home, he is awesome and intelligent dog. He has all his shots from the Vanguard Vet, he is German Shepherd but the mix part is confusing, we were told with American Bulldog but he looks more mixed with Labrador. He's 7 months, about 70 pounds, great guard dog, hears every sound outside so you don't have to worry about intruders. Potty trained, no accidents in the house ever. I don't want to charge any money for him, just want to find him a good home where he won't have any cruelty or any kind of harm happen to him. He goes to the dog park every weekend, he plays with other dogs but he rather play fetch than ... (Read More)anything. He hurt his leg a few weeks back by sliding after the ball, I don't think it's broken but I think it's sore or so. (Less)

Chloe is a very gentle and passive dog that loves giving and receiving affection. Her favorite times are when the family is together in the same room of the house and she can curl up next to one of us and be part of the activities. Chloe is also fiercely loyal, as we found out when our first child was born since she would lay against the door every night of our son's bedroom until either me or my wife would relieve her in the morning. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, I'm Bear, and I would like to tell you my story. One morning, after roaming the cold rainy streets of Spring Branch, a nice lady and her dog found me while on their morning walk just a few blocks from their apartment. I was hesitant to trust them at first because my last family left me behind (and gave me a messed-up haircut, I might add!). I would have followed them back home, but I was in pain due to my hip dysplasia and couldn't walk very well. The nice lady (who I now call my foster mom) promised to be back with the car, so I waited. Minutes later she found me and took me back to her place. I stayed outside on a nice bed on the ... (Read More)back patio for a couple of days. All I did was eat and sleep! I didn't even bark at people and other dogs walking by unless they got a little to close to the house. Nowadays, I roam around the house all day and night able to go anywhere I please because my foster mom realized I am such a good, well-mannered dog. I'm very respectful and don't mess up the house by chewing things, going through trash, pottying in the house, or anything else that some dogs do that humans don't like. I patiently wait for her to come home and then give her lots of love! The vet told us that I have an old injury that has caused me to be blind in my left eye. I also have hip dysplasia in my right hip and am going to have to have a surgery called an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy). Otherwise, I'm healthy as a horse! My foster family and friends are really nice, and they're going to get me the care that I need. I'm very outgoing, I enjoy riding in the car, going to dog parks and restaurants, and relaxing at home. I am feeling better everyday thanks to my foster family and friends. Please fill out an application to adopt me if you would like to love me, play with me, scratch my belly and nurture me for the rest of my doggy days! Hope to hear from you soon! A few additional words from my foster mom: Bear is a 65 lb white German Shepherd that's house-trained in unrestrained living conditions. He shares the apt with another unrestrained female dog. Bear keeps himself clean and doesn't really like to get in the tub, but he loves water! Bear barks when strangers approach the door, but has shown no aggression. Bear does 'mouth' when he wants something. He lives in a home with no children but is very friendly to most people when approached, so we don't think he would have any problems. Bear has a bed in my bedroom but sleeps anywhere he sees fit. Bear eats a grain-free limited ingredient diet twice daily. He's not food aggressive or possessive towards others while eating. The cost of the dog food I have been feeding him is approximately $55 per 24lb bag. Due to his hip dysplasia, I give him Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplements. He currently takes Rimadyl and Tramadol to help control his pain until he has his surgery. Bear knows basic commands like sit and down. He does not require a yard and is leash-trained. I don't use , but he is highly likely to be crate-trainable. Bear is affectionate, even-tempered, and so sweet. He would be a great addition to any family! Please consider donating towards Bear's upcoming surgery and medical expenses. You can donate by clicking on this link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=E2QMUYX4KXDWC. Every little bit helps! Thank you! NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. PUPPIES: Puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog/puppy and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs/puppies to be shipped. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-09-00739CLOVIS (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

CLOVIS was saved from San Antonio Animal Care services the day before he was due to be killed. This boy is just ALL Loving. I believe he was previously an outside dog as he does need work on his manners, but he is learning quickly. CLOVIS is a great boy, he is a nice 50 pound size, he gets on well with other dogs although does try to dominate initially, but soon backs down if he is challenged, he also only just been neutered which could be the reason for this behavior and I'm sure will calm down in a few ... (Read More)weeks/months. CLOVIS will need some training, but his potential of being a fun, loving, energetic affectionate boy is huge. I mean just look at that smile. CLOVIS is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German shepherd Dog Rescue. Our application process and form can be found on our website. (Less)

He would rather relax with a human on the couch or floor. He weighs about 34 lbs and is very gentle. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00554Daphne (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Daphne is a super cute tricolor mix puppy. We think she could be a German Shepherd mixed with something smaller. Maybe Rat Terrier? We estimate her to only be about 40-45 lbs full grown based on her current weight and age. She is lots of fun and pure puppy! She has gorgeous almond-shaped, almost slanted eyes. She is a great crate sleeper, plays very well with my large GSD, super curious about the cats, and, best of all, she uses the doggy door to take care of business! Daphne is around 4.5 months old and about 15 lbs. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out ...     They call me super dog because right after my rescue, I collapsed with both Parvo and the Adenovirus, but HPPL didn't give up on me and I made a miraculous recovery. So now I am blind in one eye, but am full of life! Any toy is exciting, being around and playing with other dogs is a thrill, and learning all my lessons is even fun because I am smart and eager to please. Since I was so sick initially, I am now learning my housetraining (and I am almost there), doing pretty well walking on a leash and can stay in a crate once I settle in. I would love a comfy home with plenty of affection and someone willing to take me to the next level with ... (Read More)all manners. I am ready to live life to the fullest. My edob is 3/13. (Less)

Monroe is a shy at first, but once he gets to know you his playful personality comes out. He is energetic and loves to play with balls and toys. Monroe is generally non-reactive towards other dogs, unless he is crated and the other dog is loose. Monroe is currently in boarding and would love a FOSTER or FOREVER home where he can show his sweet nature. He will need some attention to his housetraining. Monroe has been visiting a local dog park on a weekly basis. This is what his handler said: Our first trip - What a WONDERFUL experience! Monroe walked nicely on his leash until he was at the lake. When his leash was removed, he ... (Read More)looked a little uncertain, and then tested the water. The pure joy on his face was unbelievable - - he jumped in the water and splashed around, then ran out and around the park and back. He took a flying leap in the water! He made a few new friends, but was just so happy and excited and free to enjoy running around the park and playing in the water. When the outing was over, he jumped in the back of the car and rolled over on his back exhausted with such a happy expression. Monroe is definitely a water dog! Monroe's second trip to the dog park was exciting for him, and a bit scary for me. There were alot of dogs this time around and Monroe enjoyed meeting each one that came up to him! When we got to the water, all the dogs were just kind of standing around. As soon as I took Monroe's leash off, he took a flying leap in the water, splashed around for a time, then took off running around the dog park. Next thing I knew, there was about 10 dogs racing around with him! I was scared that he was going to cause a riot, but all the dogs were having a great time. Not one disagreement among them and lots of wagging tails. Every trip is a wonderful experience. Monroe has so much fun playing and running with all the dogs. He finally met a dog that could run faster than him - - a female greyhound! Talk about love at first site, Monroe was totally enthralled. (Less)

Stevie is a beautiful chestnut mix - looks very much like a Besinji mixed with German Shepard. He is quite an handsome dog. He is a smart dog and has good energy for an active home. He gets on well with the other large dogs in his foster home. He needs a home with no cats, and no smaller dogs, and best no children. He needs someone active and really willing to take Stevie to training and work on socialization. He will need daily exercise - long walks or jogs.     Breuklen is a sweet and playful dog with a lot of energy. He is more of an indoor dog. Enjoys playing tug-o-war. Would recommend a family or someone with no young children because of his size and energy level. He did snap at our daughter's friend and scratched her face, but we think he was just being protective. He is not an aggressive dog. Our kids love him, but he is just too much for us. We do not know a lot about large breeds. We have one other smaller female dog, which he is friendly with. I don't know how he is with cats or other animals. We have only had him for a few months.     Issac is a great family dog. He is an alpha male so preferably he should be the only dog in the home. Issac has always been an indoor dog and should be adopted as an indoor dog. He is very loving and loves to play fetch and chase. I have had Issac 10 years, since he was a puppy, but I have become ill and can no longer care for him as he needs. I do not want this beautiful animal to be put to sleep due to my illness. So I have to find a happy home for him as soon as possible.

He is a rescue from a one-owner home of almost 10 years (was born at the residence, lived with older woman for 9 years, she passed away). He is tolerant of older children but small children are not recommended. He is very loyal, will sleep at your bedside all night long. Longs for companionship!

I found this girl almost dead laying in the middle of the road in April. I immediately took her to the vet and had her tested for everything and got all her shots. She had almost no hair so I was worried about mange but she only had a yeast infection on her skin. Her blood test wasn't strong so I couldn't do the full blown heart worm treatment, but I have started her on heart guard and that will slowly kill them. With special food, multivitamins, chondroitin and glucosamine, and allergy pills she is healthy, almost 80 pounds (she was 60 when I found her), and she has lots of energy. The vet thinks she is at least 10, but I'm sure she is ... (Read More)older. She looks like she was in a cage her entire life and used as a puppy mill dog. She is very sweet and know many commands. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

My name is Lyra. I'm a very shy girl, but considering my past, that's not surprising. I was found by the Corridor Rescue volunteers as a stray who had taken cover underneath a vacant house, along with my brand new litter of puppies. It was a terrible scene for all of us and we were all starving. We were all scooped up and whisked off to the safety of our rescue vet. I'm so thankful and appreciative for their kindness and for the safe and happy life I have now. I was born in 2011, weigh 44 pounds and I'm a low energy girl. My breed mix is a bit of a mystery! Despite my rough start, I am completely healthy and slowly getting more social ... (Read More)every day. I do a few super cute things that you have to see and then you might fall in love with me. When my human friends play with me, I always sit down and tap my front paw on the floor like I'm playing the piano. Also, I had never been on a leash in my life, but I like it and walk very nicely on it. I love treats and I'll take those very gently out of your hands. Do you want to try that out really quickly? I also know my sit and crate commands. I'm smart, they tell me! I also will let you rub my belly for as long as you would like. I'm potty-trained, crate-trained and I really enjoy my kennel space. It's all mine and I feel safe there. I like it so much that I'm called the 'greeter dog' at the boarding facility because my kennel is in the lobby. I'm pretty special to be given this honor! I'm also a beautiful girl, so that helps too. I'm not too fond of other dogs right now because they just make me nervous. That is the real reason that I'm the lobby girl because my friends at the kennel are trying to help me acclimate to being around other dogs and to realize they aren't going to hurt me. I'm not aggressive to them at all, but I do give a little growl to tell them I'm scared. Although other dogs aren't my favorite, I love children and all people. I don't mind the cats in my lobby either. I'm pretty much a lounger, but when I'm not getting my beauty sleep, I prefer to be hanging out with the new people in my life. I'm calm and quiet and that is what I'm looking for in my new family. My ideal family is calm, easy going and dog-less, except for me obviously. I'll take a little extra time to get to know and trust my new family, but please know that I want one so badly. I don't need a big house or a big yard, just a little space, a leash for walks, a kennel and LOTS of love. To foster or adopt Lyra, please submit an application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Please note that foster parents are provided with everything they need for the animal's care free of charge. Lyra's adoption fee is $150.     SHERLOCK was saved from San Antonio Animal Care services with a suspected fractured pelvis. He was taken to our vets and although no fracture he has pain around his groin / pelvic area, but also his front left leg is paralyzed. SHERLOCK stayed at the vets for a few days for assessment and came back to rescue for some further healing before an assessment of his front leg can be made. It is anticipated that it will need to be amputated. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-11-00346Beautiful 'Bella' (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Bella - German Shepherd Mix For Adoption - Dallas/Ft. Worth This wonderful girl is looking for a loving, forever home in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Bella is a healthy, spayed 7 year old German Shepherd/Doberman mix. She is up to date on her shots and very well behaved. She is a very sweet dog who loves children and other dogs as well. Bella is looking for an active couple or family. She does not want to be left home by herself, so there should be someone home most of the time to enjoy her company. She loves to go places, and is very well behaved, wherever she goes. To apply to adopt Bella, please fill out our adoption form ... (Read More)here:http://petprosservices.com/adopt/, or call Debbie at 214-447-0632 for more information. There is a $75 rehoming/adoption fee. Bella's Personality Bella is a wonderfully loyal (and petite!) German Shepherd/Doberman mix. She possesses a gentle confidence and thoroughly enjoys being close to her family. She loves water and the outdoors, and gracefully handles everything from routine walks to rugged hikes. She also loves being around people- kids included! - and will show her affection with many kisses. Bella's Current Home Environment Our home environment is very fun and loving. Bella lives in our home and has always been part of our family's daily rhythm. We have two young kids so there was plenty of fun to be had each day. Bella's Current Family: We are a family of four with two kids ages 2.5 and 9-months. Our family is very close and Bella has been with us through the arrival of both children. We often spend our weekends together and Bella is routinely in tow. We recently relocated across country and our current housing environment is not conducive to dogs. We are huge dog lovers and hope to rehome Bella with another family that will continue providing her with the love and care she desires and needs. Bella's Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities? Bella enjoys durable chew toys, tennis balls, and squeaky toys (specifically lobsters!). Bella enjoys Chicken Soup for the Soul for her daily meals and will consume the typical dog treats. She's rarely had table food but will enjoy the occasional 'floor leftovers' she finds. Bella loves to run and enjoys visits to the park, hiking and water activities. She is a strong dog and often wears a dog pack when going on hikes. Cute Bella Story: We have a 9-month old son and Bella was routinely found lounging near him-even relocating closer to him when he'd crawl away. She's gentle, loves family and enjoys being close to her owners. She's the family shadow and enjoys following us around day and night. Why is Bella Being Rehomed? Bella has been well loved, but due to an across country relocation with housing that does not accommodate dogs, we are seeking to re-home her to a loving family. Bella's Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be: Bella's ideal family would be able to spend most of the day with her and take her almost everywhere. She doesn't enjoy being by herself and needs the comfort and closeness of family each day. She would not thrive with a working family where she'd be left to roam or sit in a crate most of the day. Additional Comments: We would be comfortable working to assist the new family with initial questions regarding Bella's orientation to her new home but don't anticipate staying in routine touch once Bella is rehomed.     Meet Onyx! Onyx is a beautiful girl with a shiny, black coat. Her exact breeds are unknown, but they seem to be a mix of shepherd and Australian cattle dog. Onyx was rescued from the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas from a flea market parking lot. She had several litters of pups there and would love to find her very own forever home where she can feel loved and safe. Onyx was likely born in 2010 and weighs about 60 pounds and is not expected to get any bigger. She LOVES relaxing in her kennel and is fully potty-trained. Onyx would do well living in a home with older children or without. She enjoys taking a snooze out in the ... She would just like being able to snuggle up with you on the couch and have all the affection to herself, and not have to share her food and toys with others. She is an independent girl and does not need to have other animals around for companionship. Onyx walks well on a leash and is gentle with taking food and treats from your hands, and is out of the highly active puppy stage and would make a great pet for someone looking for a medium-energy young adult dog.     Everyone loves the movie 'Finding Nemo' right? Well, that is what this awesome little guy was named...and everyone will love him too. This handsome and silly boy is looking for his family to make his life complete! Nemo was found wandering and just trying to survive the ugly streets of the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas with his two brothers, Willis and Arnold. They were rescued recently and are now living a life that they could not have imagined before. Regular meals, love and affection, daily play time in the yard and a comfy bed are all things that were new and exciting for these boys. They also have a ton of friends now and ... (Read More)have learned how to socialize with other dogs, people and cats. Nemo is about 2 years old, 45 pounds and has a medium energy level. Nemo loves to go for long walks and play indoors after a nice jog. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is usually the leader of the pack of clowns. He loves people, but can be a bit shy for a moment when meeting new people. He has a moderate energy level, meaning he knows how to run and play, but also enjoys coming inside to just hang out with his people. Nemo is already crate-trained, knows some basic commands such as sit and settle, and is housebroken. Nemo was sadly heartworm positive when he was rescued, but that is a very common problem with the strays in Houston. He has been treated and completed it like the champ that he is. This Nemo is not a clownfish, but we can guarantee that he's fun and silly like a clown. If you are looking for a great dog that will brighten your days, Nemo is a perfect match. Nemo's adoption fee is $150. To adopt Nemo, please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab.     Hi my name is Alaina, but the lady here at the ranch calls me 'Lainey'. I am a sweet, but spunky little girl who loves to be happy and smile. I love to play 'catch me if you can' but most of all I like to play with my brother, Artie. I am very smart but also very sensitive so I need a kind and gentle teacher. Are you the teacher for me?

Hi, my name is Arthur but the lady here at the ranch calls me 'smartie artie' because she says I am such a smart boy! I love to play with the other dogs here but I especially love to play with my sister, Lainey. I am good natured and eager to learn new things. I am a very sensitive kind of guy so I am easy to teach. The ranch lady says I could be a 'service dog' with the right training. would you like to teach me to be a helping dog? or just your best buddy!
