Rescue Me ID: 16-02-09-00594Muddy Paws (female)
Muddy Paws is a sweet energetic puppy. She is well socialized with many different dogs of different breeds. She also lives in a home with a cat. She loves to play with the cat. At first glance it looks like she is being aggressive with the cat but she is just trying to play and has NEVER hurt the kitty in any way. We have had her since she was 12wks. Due to unforseen medical conditions of my oldest son I no longer have the means to take care of her. We have 3 children and she has been socialized with children as young as 1. She loves to play with other dogs so she would do best in a home with an older well mannered playful dog or a family who has someone who can train her. She does know how to sit on command. She needs work on the leash and she does love to chew. However she has never chewed our shoes. She is crate trained and almost completely house broken. Also She never barks. She needs a fenced yard and lots of toys. She is very treat motivated and very smart. Breaks my heart to give her up but I have no choice. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-09-00270Sundance (female)
Sundance was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern California. She is a puppy under a year old and weighs under 60 lbs. I have been told she is a panda GSD and I looked it up and she does appear similar in markings. I am not qualified to determine that distinction. Sundance will be spayed, up to date on shots. She has already completed basic training and knows her commands. She is a bolter so a fenced, secured yard is a must and on a leash at all times. She wants to please and is very loving. All she needs now is a family who will love her and give her a forever home. Sundance is currently in SoCal and will be transported up to the Skagit Valley once I have potential adopters. (Less)

Animal ID: 16-02-07-00420Radar (male)
I need to find a perfect home for my beautiful, sweet three-year-old male GSD because of work and moving from a home to an apartment. My beautiful, sweet and energetic Radar needs a forever home that will appreciate his love and joy of life and in return he will reward you with joy, love and loyalty. He is incredibly smart (I have taught him commands* in 20 seconds), impossibly athletic (besides comments on his beauty, he always gets comments on his speed, and athletic ability - he is unbelievable to watch). He tries so hard to please and he is always ready for action of any kind. He would have made a great police or war dog because of his instinct to work hard for his master. He is incredibly attentive, bold and brave. He plays well with other dogs, but he can be a little overpowering because of his strength. He is capable, though, of playing with the neighbor's old, arthritic dog and is able to tone down his actions for a while, but he wants to play hard to burn up some of his energy. A dog his own size or strength would be perfect for play. If he is loose, he does bark and charge up to other dogs or strangers he sees, which can be frightening (because he goes about 100 MPH), but he just gives people a quick sniff and is off. With dogs, he is more interested in checking them out and seeing if they will play, but he does want to let them know he is the boss dog (a GSD sort of thing). He is not mean in any way and he loves all people (he runs to greet the garbage men, the UPS driver, the mailman and jumps in their trucks), he just needs me to introduce strangers to him and then he is a friend for life. He is exuberant in everything he does. He is extremely joyful and happy when he is out for an adventure or playing. He is so adorable and is still a puppy at heart. He is up to date on his vaccinations, healthy, and well adjusted. He just needs a JOB and active companionship. Commands he knows: Sit, Lie, Go to your bed, Back away (on the trail to get behind me or when I am going through a door), Untangle (he steps out of a tangled leash - impressive to watch), Stay, Wait, Go Home, This way (follow me in this direction) and Come (runs up and sits directly in front of me). He responds to a whistle by running to me at his 100 MPH speed - joyfully with a big smile on his face. He is such a delight to watch. He does not run away-ever. I have him off leash were I walk in a private area on acreage and if he is away from he exploring, a quick call ('This way') gets him back immediately, usually at his 100 MPH speed, just because he can. He is amazing and so beautiful, sweet and loyal. Crystal 206-601-4124 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-03-00408Brandi (female)
Brandi is a five year old Labrador Retriever mix looking for her forever home. Her previous owners kept her outside exclusively and surrendered her when she developed a habit of jumping their fence and then waiting on their doorstep for them to come home. Brandi is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She weighs around 50 lbs. She does well with other dogs, but we haven't had her around cats or children yet, so we're not sure what she thinks of them. This is a courtesy post for another rescue that we work with. All of our dogs are currently in foster homes. We require interested adopters to first fill out an application for adoption before we can answer any inquiries. The application is on our website: www.aberdeenstr.com. Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity and an all volunteer rescue. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each dog. **Due to the large volume of inquiries we receive, we will not be able to respond to emails or phone calls until an adoption application has been submitted first.** (Less)

Animal ID: 52026Shadow (male)
Am I the most handsome guy in this place or what? My name is Shadow and I am a 2-year-old male Belgian Tervurer who arrived at the shelter as a stray. I love going for walks, am good on a leash, and would make a great walking companion. I appear to be housebroken. Some things you should know about my breed are Tervurens are highly energetic, intelligent dogs who require a job to keep them occupied. This can be herding, obedience, agility, flyball, tracking, or protection work. As companion animals, Tervurens are loyal and form strong bonds with their family, leading some to be shy around strangers. They are good watch dogs, being very observant and attentive to the slightest change in their environment. I'm looking for a home with no small kids, cats or other dogs so I can have all your attention. Please ask to meet me in the exercise yard and see if I am the right one for you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-30-00106Linus & Koda (male)
I am looking to rehome both dogs, they are brothers and have NEVER been apart. They do everything together, eat, sleep, play. They must go together, I am losing my home and cannot afford to take them with me. This is heartbreaking for me, and I want to find the best possible home for them. It needs to be fenced, with room to run. Koda, the brown one is loving and very friendly. Linus, the white one is more cautious and reserved. They are both wonderful dogs, Linus just more time to warm up. They need love and attention and would do well in a home without small children. Teens and adults would be best, please consider these two, they are really needing a home. (Less)

Daisy is a 60 pound 4 year-old Shepherd/Terrier mix. She's taken the five week training course at the Academy of Canine Behavior in Bothell and has free life-long private follow-up lessons. Daisy loves hanging out with her people and getting snuggles and belly rubs. She often has anxiety around new people and can be protective of her family. She needs a strong leader to follow and would do best in a calm environment without small children or other pets. Daisy is a very smart and sweet girl with a lot of love to give.

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-03-00511Toby (male)
Meet sweet Toby! He is listed as a German Shepard/Hound mix and estimated to be about 10 months-1 year old. A little background on Toby- he is from a litter of 9 puppies and 4 of the dogs from the litter (including Toby) ended up at Tri-cities animal shelter here in Pasco. The siblings have had a rough start at life, it is clear that they were not treated the way that they deserve when they were young. Toby has the most confidence of all of his siblings and is SO eager to please! The shelter is not a place where Toby can shine and live up to his potential, he has developed some kennel stress and so desperately needs out of the shelter. I have taken Toby on several outings and even to our house for sleepovers. Toby is the perfect gentleman and such an awesome house guest! What a difference removing him from the stressful shelter environment makes for him! He was great with our dog, loves to play, waited by the back door to go out and go potty and listens very well when redirected... Like I said, he is so eager to please! I was very impressed with Toby for being so young with minimal to no training, he listens so well (must be the German Shepard in him) I didn't even have to crate him at night... He did wonderful! Toby has shown some signs of being un-sure about men but we're addressing that and he's doing great! I've found that anybody who gets down on his level and reminds him that they're his friend he immediately accepts, he loves to make friends! I can't say enough positive about this sweet guy, it's safe to say he has won my heart over and I'm sure he'll win yours too! He needs his forever family to find him soon because he desperately needs out of the shelter in order to shine like so many of us shelter volunteers know he can! Please contact me, Olivia at (509) 378-8079 with any questions... I'd love to help in any way I can! Or Tri-Cities Animal Control at (509) 545-3740 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-09-26-00143Walter (male)
Why do we still have Walter?? He's a goof!! Walter is a big, 75lb shepherd boy that loves to spend his day running through the yard.... with LOTS of toys / balls! This wonderful, 6ish yr old boy is easy-going for the most part and gets along great with other large, respectful dogs. He's not interested in the crazy young puppy energy so his playmates are other large neutral male and female dogs. He's also very inquisitive so loves to go on long walks and hikes. Walter must have a securely fenced backyard... preferably wood and no cats for this boy.

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-17-00676Brice (male)
Darling Brice! This 2yr old boy is incredibly sweet natured, affectionate and gets along great with people he meets outside the home. When in the home, he feels the need to protect so he must have an experienced handler to help him understand that he does not always need to guard the home but instead can just relax. He really is a gentle boy that loves affection... and LOVES to run and play with the other dogs. He's very smart and learns very quickly... except he gets so excited when meeting new people he still jumps up to greet - but he's getting there! Even though he loves children, he does feel the need to protect and guard them (even from their parents) so to help him feel more at ease, no children in the home is best. He'll thrive in an active home that will take him on long walks, jogs and hikes... and that has a large yard in which he can run and stretch his legs. An active, athletic and assertive person or couple would be ideal for Brice! (Less)

German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
