German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Darling Brice! This 2yr old boy is incredibly sweet natured, affectionate and gets along great with people he meets outside the home. When in the home, he feels the need to protect so he must have an experienced handler to help him understand that he does not always need to guard the home but instead can just relax. He really is a gentle boy that loves affection... and LOVES to run and play with the other dogs. He's very smart and learns very quickly... except he gets so excited when meeting new people he still jumps up to greet - but he's getting there! Even though he loves children, he does feel the need to protect and guard them so ... (Read More)to help him feel more at ease, no children in the home is best. He'll thrive in an active home that will take him on long walks, jogs and hikes... and that has a large yard in which he can run and stretch his legs. An active, athletic and assertive person or couple would be ideal for Brice! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-17-00664Cato (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Cato... big, bold and beautiful! Cato is about 2-3ish yrs old and weighs about 70lbs. He's a wonderfully sweet boy that is also somewhat of a typical shepherd - friendly and playful... then a bit aloof while he completes his periodic perimeter check of the yard. Then he's back again to play fetch or lean against you while you give him a good body rub. He loves to run and is very athletic so a home with a runner/jogger/hiker will be ideal. He also loves to go on long walks and car rides. He a very outdoorsy kind of guy so he must have a fenced backyard in which to play and lounge. Cato is also a very quiet boy that is quite ... (Read More)observant of his surroundings so he'll make his family feel very safe. Cato loves people but because of his size, children must be over 14yrs old. He's not great with other animals so no dogs, cats or critters for this boy. He's had a great foundation of professional training so he's also a polite, obedient boy that just needs an assertive, large breed/shepherd experienced home. He's fully house and crate trained and can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours each day. (Less)

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Flik, a loving shepherd mix with very unusual eyes (perhaps he has a pug ancester!). Flik is looking for a new forever home that will give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is well mannered and seems to be housebroken. He is an expert at fetch! Flik can be selective about which other dogs he likes, and we do recommend a home without small children. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Tonker and I am a male Shepherd Rhodesian Ridgeback mix looking for a special lady to share my life. I am approximately 5 years old. I got lost in Jackson Park in Bremerton and brought to the shelter as a stray on 6/12/2014. I need some time to warm up to new people, but once I know that you are a friend, I'm loving and attentive. I know the commands sit and shake. I appear to be housebroken. I love being outside, going for walks, hikes, or fun runs. I am much more comfortable around women. If you are looking for a loving, loyal guy who will always be faithful, I am your pup!

German Shepherd    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

They are two beautiful AKC girls from K9 Kraftwerk's breeding with Wayne Curry in Rochester. The darker one on the right is named Kaese and she is the alpha and of east german blood lines. The lighter one is Gretchen and of west german lines and is more active. Both are sweet and very protective and yet gentle with the family and good with guests one we give them the OK sign. They haven't had a lot of socialization over the years with other dogs, but we've never had a problem kenneling them. They love to throw the ball. Gretchen could chase after them until your arm falls off; Kaese will go for awhile but would rather sit back and watch ... (Read More)Gretchen. They love to be with us at all times and are in general house dogs, but will spend time outside if necessary without being loud and are even fine with the gardners when they come in. They are healthy with certified hips and are in perfect condition. I hate to give them up, but my kids aren't in a position to take them and I can't take them on my next assignment so I don't know what to do. I would hate to see them separated as they are born 6 weeks apart; different litters but same breeder. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-04-00630Onyx (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Teen needs to rehome his Black German Shepherd. Picture of her in the middle enjoying the water. She LOVES to play, endless energy. Loves her large red float (from boating) ball. She has started getting aggressive with my female (the brown one). She is shy and reacts with barking, etc. She knows her basic commands and will listen to her owner (not so much to me). Very sweet dog with us. Teen is graduating, working full time & college, so he has limited time to work with her anymore. We need her to find a new family as soon as possible. Onyx has been around horses her entire life and now has started herding them to where she thinks ... (Read More)they should be - whether they like it or not. Usually the horses are ok with it, but at times they will take off after her when enough is enough. I really don't want to see her get injured by one of them. (Less)

Animal ID: PRO-275Leo (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Leo. I am 8 yrs young and am lab/german sheep mix. My mom adopted me and my brother Beau when we were only 5-6 weeks old and raised us. I have always had wander lust (so a good fence is a must to keep me safe) and led Beau on many adventures, one of which got me hurt %BD'%BD|. bad! I fell down some big boulders and broke my elbow %BD'%BD| It now is bionic and has never caused me any grief. I can run and play with the best of them. Beau and I always went to Auntie Gretchen's for 2-3 weeks in the summer when mom went on vacation. Auntie has been trying to convince mom for years that even though I am so sweet and ... (Read More)cuddly, I see myself as alpha (at least over Beau and mom)%BD'%BD|. I learned years ago that auntie is alpha in her house and I don't argue the point. Mom recently got a divorce and for months, Beau and I came to auntie's house%BD'%BD| Mom finally found a place and we all moved in. I got very irritated with her and the others when they would go to work so I decided to show em who was boss and I ate the furniture, tore up carpets and door moulding %BD'%BD| mom finally put a camera to see who was doing the damage%BD'%BD|. Beau and Jax would go hide when I got wound up. Mom is renting and finally, tearfully asked auntie Gretchen to try and find me a new home %BD'%BD|. my good traits are: I know sit/down/stay and walk nicely on a leash. I am learning 'wait' here at auntie's house. I love to play fetch and am happy running and playing with other dogs. I HATE being tied up and will bark and whine to show my displeasure. I know to stay off the furniture and I don't get into the garbage. I adore humans and don't care what size they are. I don't guard food or toys and am not a picky eater. I am crate trained and need a nice roomy, strong one. I am completely house broken. I love going for car rides and just generally being with a human. I don't jump on people and I am not a obnoxious licker of humans. I do have a couple of faults%BD'%BD| I will destroy any toy that is filled with stuffing. I have been known to destroy my bedding if it is 'fluffy' (though I am doing way better). I can be with cats but should have some supervision since I do like to see if I can make them run from me. I need a family that will shower me with love and affection and take me in as a long lost family member. (Less)
