Rescue Me ID: 14-10-17-00620TANK (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tank has a very sweet, lovable and happy personality. Though he is not a lap cuddly type of puppy, he is definitely a companion dog. He loves to be in the same area you are at where he loves to play with his abundance of dog toys, stretch out on his dog beds and then come check in with you to give you a smooch. He is very independent and adventurous. He is very smart. He sits for treats and goes into his crate (bed) when you have to leave the house. He comes when called sometimes. He has learned some bell training. He is still working on his potty training and leash training but he is easily motivated by treats. He does well in riding ... (Read More)in a car. He gets along with cats and other dogs. He probably will do okay with calm and well behaved children. He is good about leaving other animals alone when they don't want him to bother them. He will do well in an active and calm family where he will get daily walks. He does get hot easy, so he may do better with having his own dog beds versus sleeping in someone's bed. It is highly recommended that due to his breeds, that his adoptive family take him to dog obedience training and continue to socialize him with other dogs. Also, recommend that the adoptive family research the breed traits/personalities of both breeds so that they know what to expect for the duration of Tank's lifespan. He is in San Antonio but can be transported to Washington/Oregon on the next transport, at the end of October. Please look at our website for more information about who we are and what we do, www.godsdogsrescue.weebly.com Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescued dog!!     Whoop Whoop, Bonnie and Clyde are in the building....but we are only hear to find LOVE! We are greyhound/shepherd mixes and we are 8 months young and ready for action. My brother got the glossier locks but I got the personality, although he will argue that with you. We were living the life as rebellious young pups on the streets, minding our own business, causing no harm when that infamous big white truck showed up. We didn't argue or anything as that is not our style, so we ended up at that Animal Control place...man they keep it cold in there, don't get me wrong we appreciate the cooler temps cause we have been on the streets for months in ... (Read More)that 100 degree heat but burrrrr it got chilly. Lots of people looked at us, cause you know we are good looking but no one seemed to want to get us out of the joint. This group called God's Dogs came by and those ladies are nuts...but they love us sleek bodied babies. So they did this "pull" thing right before our deadline was up. We weren't scared though cause we knew somebody would break us out. I do not have to go with my brother, cause we are independent and carefree. I get along with everybody and would love to show you the ropes out and about. I love to show my legs on a good stretch of road, but when we are done enjoy curling up to some serious belly rubs. You can contact those crazy ladies to learn how to break me out by emailing Julie at lonniemarchbanks@yahoo.com or Deb at lincorjack@yahoo.com or Sarah at sgrsatx@gmail.com I can be in Washington at the end of the end of the month cause I got the hook up with Paws Without Borders. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jodie is a young Shepherd/Lab mix looking for an experienced home. She is a super high-energy girl who will need to go on long runs and receive plenty of exercise. She doesn't really have any manners right now; she likes to jump and bark when she gets excited. It will be mandatory for Jodie to attend positive reward based obedience training to help her learn appropriate behaviors. These classes will also help Jodie socialize with other dogs. She tends to get over excited when she see other dogs and doesn't know quite how to greet them calmly. Once she is used to them she gets along fine, but will likely never be a dog that you can take to ... (Read More)the dog park. Jodie's ideal home will be an active, adult-only family with no other pets. She is far too jumpy and mouthy for small children, and would likely chase and terrorize cats. Jodie needs a stable, structured environment to help her become the best girl she can be! German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

DOB Jan 2014 - 65-70 lbs. BRITT is a very confident boy, he is very dog socialized and he loves to play with the other dogs running around with all his energy. BRITT is also very loving, he loves to get his cuddles and give kisses. BRITT likes his toys and is happy entertaining himself when he would rather chill out than run around. Each night BRITT quietly comes up to the side of the bed to get his head scratched, he is so very gentle. BRITT whilst living at the rescue is house trained in that he goes outside either through the door or the doggy door. BRITT is looking for a family that is lots of fun, will take him on lots of adventures, ... (Read More)advance on his basic training and to teach him lots of tricks. BRITT is a smart boy and would love to have his mind challenged. BRITT has never shown any kind of aggression or negative behavior. Prior to his short foster period, he lived with 70 dogs and eats, sleeps and socializes with them all the time and there has never been any kind of issues. BRITT has not yet been exposed to cats or any other kind of animals so I do not know how he would behave. I do, however, believe that letting him satisfy his curiosity and teaching him to respect the other animal, he would quickly learn how to behave around them. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

2 year old CLOVIS was saved from San Antonio Animal Care services the day before he was due to be killed. This boy is just ALL Loving. And dashingly handsome, too! I believe he was previously an outside dog as he does need work on his manners, but he is learning quickly. CLOVIS does bark a lot when I leave, but again that, I believe is because he was an outside dog before with no love or attention. CLOVIS is a great boy, he is a nice 50 pound size, he gets on well with other dogs although does try to dominate initially, but soon backs down if he is challenged, he also only just been neutered which could be the reason for this behavior ...     DENNY is a stunning white German Shepherd Dog that we have recently saved. He still has a lot of weight to gain and could easily reach around the 90 + pound weight. Denny's DOB is 9/2011 and his current weight is approx. 65 lbs. DENNY was at first nervous around the other dogs, however, within 24 hours he has taken to bossing them all around. He is a vocal boy, but this is a German Shepherd Dog trait. DENNY walks good on a leash, he does get excited and jumps up a little, but is easily corrected. He does pay attention and with correct guidance and training he will learn easily. DENNY did have a few accidents in the house when we first ...     This handsome, 70 lb. guy named Lucky is a big old softy! He is one of the most laid back dogs ever! Even when treats are being handed out, he just hangs back and waits until the other dogs have stopped all crowding around to get his. LUCKY can be a little apprenhensive going to new places and so he will need some patience and positive reinforcement when going to new places for the first time, but once he has been there a while he settles into his laid back demeanor. Although laid back, LUCKY of course LOVES to play with the other dogs, he plays with toys and he wrestles and rolls around with the other dogs. He has not ever shown any ... (Read More)sign of aggression, he eats and lives with dogs of all ages and sizes. LUCKY does use a dog door and hasn't had any accidents, however, in his new home he would need to adjust to being on a new routine with a new family and would also need to learn how to let you know he needs to go outside.     Astro is one gorgeous dog which is why I named him Astro - out of this world beautiful! He was rescued from a terrible high kill shelter in Southern California. We think he is a mix of pit lab and shepherd. He has the most incredible eyes. A beautiful short coat and coloring. He weighs 45 lbs. but will probably end up weighing 50 lbs. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Odin is an intelligent and very loving dog. He loves to run and would play catch all day if allowed. He has great potential and a new family who has the time to channel his energy into a fun job (running partner, agility, herding perhaps (?)), would be the perfect fit. He is a quick learner and responds extremely well to positive reinforcement based training. We have raised Odin and his brother since the age of 9 weeks, but need to re-home him due to personality conflicts and jealousy issues with his brother and our older male dog. Odin does suffer from some fear based anxieties, ie. meeting new people, people approaching while we are ... (Read More)walking, but with consistent training he can overcome this. He has also tried to 'herd' us if there is too much excitement in the home, but a calmer environment always helps him keep control. Please let us know if you are at all interested in possibly becoming Odin's new forever family. Thank you. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Needs to be Neutered

Billy needs a great home with room to run and play. He is a wonderful dog! Gets along really well with cats and dogs. He does get anxious when there are a lot of people around (6 is pretty much his limit) especially when there is another dog there. Right now he is in an only pet home. Billy is also not good with men who have a lot of facial hair and glasses, it took him quite a while to warm up to my grandfather. He is so loving and all he wants to do is play! Great with kids. Even when they crawl over him or tugs on his tail (my nephew was two, but he knows better now) so no worries there. HIs back is about three feet high, definitely a ... (Read More)sizable dog. He is also very sensitive about his paws, he absolutely does not like getting his nails clipped. Doesn't like being left alone and has separation anxiety, so he will bark and whine. He is not destructive, just vocal. Wherever he goes, he will go with two bags of food. Please call/email with any questions! (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Many dogs will come up to a new person to sniff them as a greeting...not Willis!! This guy will roll over and lay in your lap to get to know you better. He is the definition of affectionate and happy. He has never met a stranger and everyone that meets him says he's just the best. Willis is about 1.5 years old, 45 pounds and has great medium level energy. Willis was rescued while surviving the streets of the Corridor of Cruelty with his two brothers Nemo and Arnold. They were fortunately all rescued together and are now living in a boarding/training facility to help prepare them for their new families. Willis is the clown of the group ... (Read More)and his brothers are both very reserved. He's so very loving and social that it is almost unbelievable that he spent even a day in that awful place. It certainly didn't affect his outlook on life one bit. Sadly without monthly preventatives, he was heartworm positive upon rescue. He has been treated and will be given a clean bill of health this month. WooHoo!! He enjoys spending every moment with his new human friends. It doesn't matter what activity you are involved in, he will be by your side running, fetching, swimming, sleeping or even sharing some of your unwanted vegetables. We could have named him Shadow and it would have been quite fitting. This young man really does have it all and we are so excited to announce that he is available for adoption because he is going to bring so much joy to a family. Willis is great with other dogs, big or small, and would love to have at least one to play with in his new family, but more would be great. He is a dream with kids and adults. One cannot be perfect in every single category, so he only tolerates cats, but would probably be better without one as his immediate sibling. This guy is the life of the party and has proven to be just a well- rounded, fun, silly and amazing friend. He would be a great addition to any family dynamic, but would be best in an active family with kids that will allow him to tag along for all of their family events. Willis is currently crate-trained, leash-trained, housebroken and is currently working on learning basic commands such as sit, stay and settle. You might want to hurry because this guy WON'T last long with us. Willis currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers who live here that help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including the adoption fee and transportation cost is $375. If you are interested in adopting Willis, please submit an adoption application at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab.     Darling Brice! This 2yr old boy is incredibly sweet natured, affectionate and gets along great with people he meets outside the home. When in the home, he feels the need to protect so he must have an experienced handler to help him understand that he does not always need to guard the home but instead can just relax. He really is a gentle boy that loves affection... and LOVES to run and play with the other dogs. Even though he loves children, he does feel the need to protect and guard them so ... (Read More)to help him feel more at ease, no children in the home is best. He'll thrive in an active home that will take him on long walks, jogs and hikes... and that has a large yard in which he can run and stretch his legs.     Meet Cato... big, bold and beautiful! Cato is about 2-3ish yrs old and weighs about 70lbs. He's a wonderfully sweet boy that is also somewhat of a typical shepherd - friendly and playful... then a bit aloof while he completes his periodic perimeter check of the yard. Then he's back again to play fetch or lean against you while you give him a good body rub. He loves to run and is very athletic so a home with a runner/jogger/hiker will be ideal. He also loves to go on long walks and car rides. He a very outdoorsy kind of guy so he must have a fenced backyard in which to play and lounge. Cato is also a very quiet boy that is quite ... (Read More)observant of his surroundings so he'll make his family feel very safe. Cato loves people but because of his size, children must be over 14yrs old. He's not great with other animals so no dogs, cats or critters for this boy. He's had a great foundation of professional training so he's also a polite, obedient boy that just needs an assertive, large breed/shepherd experienced home. He's fully house and crate trained and can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours each day. (Less)

Animal ID: PRO-275Leo (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Leo. I am 8 yrs young and am lab/german sheep mix. My mom adopted me and my brother Beau when we were only 5-6 weeks old and raised us. I have always had wander lust (so a good fence is a must to keep me safe) and led Beau on many adventures, one of which got me hurt %BD'%BD|. bad! I fell down some big boulders and broke my elbow %BD'%BD| It now is bionic and has never caused me any grief. I can run and play with the best of them. Beau and I always went to Auntie Gretchen's for 2-3 weeks in the summer when mom went on vacation. Auntie has been trying to convince mom for years that even though I am so sweet and ... (Read More)cuddly, I see myself as alpha (at least over Beau and mom)%BD'%BD|. I learned years ago that auntie is alpha in her house and I don't argue the point. Mom recently got a divorce and for months, Beau and I came to auntie's house%BD'%BD| Mom finally found a place and we all moved in. I got very irritated with her and the others when they would go to work so I decided to show em who was boss and I ate the furniture, tore up carpets and door moulding %BD'%BD| mom finally put a camera to see who was doing the damage%BD'%BD|. Beau and Jax would go hide when I got wound up. Mom is renting and finally, tearfully asked auntie Gretchen to try and find me a new home %BD'%BD|. my good traits are: I know sit/down/stay and walk nicely on a leash. I am learning 'wait' here at auntie's house. I love to play fetch and am happy running and playing with other dogs. I HATE being tied up and will bark and whine to show my displeasure. I know to stay off the furniture and I don't get into the garbage. I adore humans and don't care what size they are. I don't guard food or toys and am not a picky eater. I am crate trained and need a nice roomy, strong one. I am completely house broken. I love going for car rides and just generally being with a human. I don't jump on people and I am not a obnoxious licker of humans. I do have a couple of faults%BD'%BD| I will destroy any toy that is filled with stuffing. I have been known to destroy my bedding if it is 'fluffy' (though I am doing way better). I can be with cats but should have some supervision since I do like to see if I can make them run from me. I need a family that will shower me with love and affection and take me in as a long lost family member. (Less)
