Rescue Me ID: 14-09-30-00833Piper (female)
Piper is a smart and active young girl! She loves squeaky toys, running, and cuddling with her people. She's house-trained and knows basic and not-so-basic commands. She'd prefer a home where she can be the only pet. Piper broke her toe about 8 weeks ago, and just got her cast off today! No more cone of shame! The vet said that she's gotten much calmer since he started seeing her and they were even able to change her cast without anesthesia. She's very excited to be up and running around again, and we're planning to take her to Epic tomorrow to let her sprint out some pent up energy. A couple weeks ago, Piper spent 2 days at Charlie's Bark Park and had some one-on-one training with one of their experts. He said that she is extremely obedient, and after just 2 days he had her off-leash with some of his training dogs! Piper is making a lot of progress. She's doing great on walks and is finally getting the hang of walking right next to us rather than pulling ahead. She's also gotten much better about passing other dogs on walks, and sometimes she doesn't even bark! She's currently working on 'drop it' (did we mention that she loves to play fetch?) and is mastering 'come.' Now all she needs is a forever home! (Less)

Benji was adopted through Fetch, but his owner is moving to a place where they don't accept dogs. Benji is great with other dogs, energetic, and playful. He would do great in a home with kids and other dogs, but has never been around cats. He is crate trained and walks well on a leash.

Animal ID: #22475Lucky (male)
Lucky is a 3-5 year old shepherd mix. He is super sweet and loves squeaky toys. When he arrived he was very scared and would barley let us pet him. He has opened up and loves attention now. He loves to play with toys and can often be found carrying one in his mouth. No tennis balls for this boy as he pops them. He comes when he is called and is working on sit and stay. He knows leave it and no. He loves to ride in the car but best not to have him out when a vehicle is rolling as he tries to follow you. He know how to use a dog door and is house trained. He has had a few accidents when he has been really excited and playing hard. Lucky would do well with another dog or as an only dog. He can walk on a leash and will stay in the yard without one. He loves to be snuggled and has very soft red fur. Like all shepherds he has a thick coat but loves to be brushed. He will tolerate a bath but is not in love with the idea. Lucky is undergoing heart worm treatment now. He takes medication very well with some peanut butter and also takes treats gently. He is current on his shots, neutered and micro chipped. He is currently fostered with 3 other dogs and they all get along marvelously. His current foster home is in Westfield, Wi. To meet Lucky please apply at www.lastpawrescue.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-07-00536Scrat (male)
Scrat came to the shelter as a stray. We believe he is around 1 year old. With his long tail and 'beak' we think he is a shepard lab mix. He has a calm disposition. He does not jump up on people and get real excited. He does like to play with his toys! He loves stuffed animals. He is working on the learning the word sit, but has potential to learn more. Call the shelter for more information at 715-284-0251.

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-15-00101Zoey (female)
This is Zoey she is 8 1/2 years old Shepherd Mix. She was a rescue from Katrina when she was a puppy. At this time I am currently looking for a new good home for her as I had to move and can not take her with me and she deserve to be with a person that will love and take good care of her as she is a great dog. She loves people at first she is a little shy but all she really wants is attention and to give kisses. She has been around kids and doesn't seem to mind them either. She had also been around other dogs and doesn't mind either. The only problem she has around other animals is that she is food and toy dominate. This is something that can be fixed as she has never been in a house with another dog living there and has been the only dog in the household. She is very well with being left alone when needing to be out and about. She doesn't bit on anything that is not her own. I have never had a problem with her going to the bathroom in the house. She is a little stressed out right now do to all the changes in her life but she is still a great dog and all she needs is a chance. I don't want her to get put down and I hate that I can not keep her at this time. Please someone help she deserves a good home she has been a great dog and still is... (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00483Molly (female)
Molly is very friendly with people. She is somewhat dominant with other dogs. She has been with me and my older lab dog since a puppy. She is dominant with him but they have always gotten along well. They never fought. My girlfriend and I combined households and one of her female dogs and Molly don't get along together. I can no longer keep both as they started fighting. Molly is energetic and loves to play ball. I don't want to take her to the humane society. I want to find her good home.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-19-00632Sophie (female)
Sophie needs a forever home SOON. Sophie has a sweet personality, she is very smart and loves to play and explore - would love someone that could make her an agility course. She is in need of a one pet (her) family. Sophie is 6 years old. She can be with older children - we had 8 year olds with her, but had problems with 3 year olds cousins. She loves meeting new people but she is a loudmouth and puts on a big show until she can sniff them out. She stays in a crate when everyone is out of the house for over 4 hours(it has never been used as a punishment). She will follow you around the house everywhere, very loyal. She always has to know where everyone is in the house at any given time. If she is out of water or hungry she will let you know by flipping her food or water dish upside down. She does know basic commands as well, however she could use a bit of work on more advanced commands. Sophie allows to have each paw cleaned when she comes in from outside. She would love a big yard to run in preferably with a high fence. She loves to play catch and run around. She is great as long as she is the only pet of the family. She does not do well with other animals. As the kids recently moved out, and I am currently searching for a new job and house, I am running out of time to take care of all her needs. Thanks for looking! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-05-11-00439Hunter (male)
Hunter is a handsome adult male German shepherd dog, about 6 years old. This friendly fellow gets along well with people and other dogs, although he warms up more quickly to women than to men. Hunter is generally well-behaved, has good house manners, and is crate trained. He is a 'soft' dog who has been handled a bit too roughly prior to coming to rescue, so he will need patience from his new family to re-build his confidence which he will repay with boundless love. An approved canine obedience/handler training course is required; and a securely fenced yard is highly recommended. ***************** Adoption fee: $300. German Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. The German Shepherd is a large, highly intelligent working dog. German Shepherds are very protective, but not hostile; they make great guard dogs and wonderful companions. German Shepherds should be well socialized early in life. German Shepherds that are properly trained and socialized are good with children and other pets. This breed can adapt to apartment life with sufficient exercise.
