The Rescue Me support staff was extremely helpful when I used the site to post this wonderful dog! Today, she was successful in her interview with K9s For Warriors, and is on her way. Thanks to all involved in helping her become the best friend to a brave individual who has served our country. This amazing dog now has a happy 'tail' to share!

I would like to thank you so much for allowing me to post my dog on your site, and in turn helping me to find the perfect family for her. She is now in a home with a family that will love and care for her and provide for her a wonderful, full and happy life. I now have peace of mind. I would highly recommend this site to all those looking to place their pets and also those looking to adopt. Thanks again, Rescue Me!

I have been rescuing puppies from the Island of Aruba for the past 15 years. In Aruba, they do not spay and neuter their dogs. The island is overpopulated with stray dogs that are starving in the streets. Many owned dogs have puppies that are unwanted. Many unwanted puppies and dogs are brought to a place call 'the Kill Cages' where they leave their puppies, dogs, kittens in a hot room with no water or food. There is no human supervision at this place and the next morning a man comes and kills the animals. Some are not even dead yet when they throw them in the back of a pickup truck and throw them in the dump. So, I save as many pups as I can. I take them to the vet in Aruba, have their blood and stool tests, then antibiotics, vaccinations and dewormed. Then, if healthy, get them health certificates and bring them back to the States for another vet visit, fostering, and eventual adoption to good forever homes. I also assisted this past month with a major spay/neuter program, there called Operation Cunucu where we spayed and neutered 338 dogs. Additionally, I help raise funds for a local shelter and spay/neuter clinic and help a cat rescue program. This is the first time I used Rescue Me to try to find homes for these gentle pups, and it was quite successful in finding a lovely family to adopt this precious pup. Although I do this on my own, I do an adoption application, a meet and greet with the pups then a home visit to make sure the home is a good one. Any chance you can add Aruba Cunucu to the breed of dogs on your list? It is hard to figure where these pups belong in terms of breed. They are mixed breed descended from the Iberian Hound and Portuguese Pendango that were brought by explorers in the 1600s and Arowak Indian dogs that were native to the island. Thank you for your efforts in helping all these animals to find forever homes.

This site is the best ever!! We had about 20 hits on wanting to adopt Gracie in about a week. Wonderful place to go to if you have a desire to give your dog a forever home. Sometimes things happen and you have to make some choices which is best for your family and the dogs. We love our Gracie, and will miss her, but her new family has said they will send pics. Looking forward to seeing them. Thank you again for your help, Rescue Me!

We got Reever from his second home who did not have time for him. He is very under socialized, but has been learning quickly and has adapted to our family and life wonderfully. We are lucky to have such an amazing dog. He was intimidating at first due to his size and deep bark, but with a lot of hard work, patience and love he will do great he is already on the path. Best dogs ever... Get a GSD!!! Every family should own one and every child should grow up with one! Thanks, Rescue Me.

About two months ago, we lost our German Shepherd Maximus, he was 12 plus and the love of our lives. So after the tears started to dry, I started to look on the internet to adopt a German Shepherd. I happened to find this site in all my searches, and saw a German Shepherd(s) I would like to adopt. We filled out the proper application, and low and behold, my husband and I adopted King. We are so excited. We could not have found a better dog. King fit all our needs, friendliness, fun loving, happy boy! Oh, did I forget to say beautiful. After several interviews, we were selected to be his adoptive family. If I had not found Rescue Me, I would still be searching. Instead, we are excitedly waiting for our new family member. We will be giving a donation to both Rescue Me as well as where we are adopting him from. If you are looking for a dog, I can only say, have some patience, and you will also find the new member of your family. Thank you Rescue Me! -Janice Gatulis

I love Rescue Me. I found a stray, long-haired German Shepherd, a beautiful boy that was on death's doorstep. I just got an apartment a few months ago and while I have my own rescue I knew I could not keep Ragnar. After sneaking him around for several weeks and around $2000 dollars getting him healthy, I found the perfect couple. It was a prayer answered. Thank you, Rescue Me. I will be forever grateful. -Carolyn

This was such a tormenting situation for us over the last year trying to contact other shelters and agencies and all of them telling us to put him down.      We had a very great experience with Rescue Me. Giving up a dog who is part of our family was a very difficult decision. I had looked at other sources for adoption, and never felt comfortable enough to post or follow through with the adoption process. Rescue Me made this process easier than I expected, affordable, and rather quickly. I am very happy I went through with this process with Rescue Me, and would recommend others to look here first looking for a new family member, or looking to find a home for their loved ones.

Thanks to the deceased owner's sister, Marti, for paying to have Bradley neutered! The family with which he convalesced was not a good match as he frightened the children, but he did get to recuperate and be ready to go to his new country home where he will have more open space and attention from his new best friend, Danny! Thanks to all who read the Rescue Me post and considered adopting Bradley.

Jiggy went to a loving home up North and has been doing great so far. I continue to stay in touch, but can share that she has experienced living on some land with room to run and play; kids she adores and parents who love her so and spoil her! I am very grateful for the wonderful people who came into her life and she is now the Diva in her own domain. Her sister misses her, but she too is the Diva in her own domain and does not have to be fearful of any attacks over possessions. It is truly a win win situation. Both dogs get to be the alpha female in their own homes, and both dogs receive love daily from their families. Jiggy's new home with three children get a dog for Christmas... What a true miracle that is!

Abbey has been placed with a wonderful family with an only child, which is a perfect match for her. We met with the family twice before making her placement official. When they came to take her home forever, she was so excited to see them that she hopped right into their vehicle and went home. They have shared pictures with us of her new bed, but she prefers to sleep with her boy and her big, fenced-in yard. She goes to the schools to have children read to her, and is very content and happy with her new family. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Max is a gorgeous German Shepherd I rescued off the streets who is heart worm positive. Unable to keep him, friends and I began searching for people and then rescue organizations that would take a heart worm positive dog. Weeks of emailing and calling numerous rescue organizations, including several dedicated solely to German Shepherds, without success (often with no response whatsoever) I posted Max on Rescue Me. I received several responses within days. After corresponding and checking vet references, I've found what I firmly believe is the perfect forever home for Max where he will be loved and well cared for. Thank you for literally saving Max's life!

To all of you looking for a best friend: My husband has cancer. I love my husband with all my heart. He lost his best friend, a black lab, a couple years ago. I know my husband's favorite dog in the whole world is a German Shepherd. I was determined to get my husband his favorite dog. I looked everywhere. Then, one day, I came across this Rescue Me site. I saw a post saying 'Rescue Me'... Well, it was a miracle. We adopted Jimbo, and he seems to be very happy. I love to see him running and playing with his toys. But not the right home for him. Bruno is a high energy boy and things had to be just right for him. Yes, you have to have a fence. No, I'm not adopting to people with toddlers.... On and on the list went. And then along came the most perfect home!!! A woman who had had Shepherds all her life, had a really large home with a fenced yard and missed her GSD's so, so much! She has excellent vet references, etc.... Perfect. She came to my home and the bonding has been just amazing! Wow!      Champ and Izzy have both been adopted by a loving family. My husband and I drove them to the home and watched as the mom and dad made contact with them. We stayed with them for about three hours or so while they were adjusting to their new home, then we left. We believe this couple with their three children are the right fit for the dogs. We are keeping in touch with them and giving support as needed. We provided them with food, treats and their kennels.      Rescue Me was so very helpful in finding Mongo a great home. I cannot thank you all enough. Mongo was not to greatest at being with other animals, nor strangers and when this awesome couple called me saying they were looking for another shepherd to be friends with their eight month old female Shepherd. I was a little nervous if it would work out. They came down to visit, and Mongo he took to them right away. It was their puppy who took longer to adjust, but within an hour, they were running around the yard playing and having a great time. Even though it was so very hard to give him up and he is part of me, I am so very blessed to have found a great new home for him. He loves running and playing with his new stepsister. Thanks again for everything! -Cheryl

I posted strays on your site that we were in search of homes for. We had numerous inquiries on many of them from visitors to your website. A forever home was found for one of the pups through posting on your site. Thanks for allowing an easy way to 'get the word out' of dogs in need. I would highly recommend Rescue Me to others.

This is our first experience with Rescue Me. Wolverine (Wolf) was posted late yesterday afternoon. He was not more than 10 miles from our home. He is a beautiful German Shepard pup and we took him to our vet this morning, and he is going to be just fine with us and our older dog. Thanks for the program.

Due to a sudden life change, I had to find a home for my dog. Rescue Me was able to help me get exposure to people that were actually able to adopt. I found a good home for him. Thank you so much, Rescue Me. A huge tear jerker here, but you just have to trust. God Bless!

It has been a new experience for me to be a foster mom to a rescued pet. Lily has been wonderful. She came to me a shy, withdrawn dog and has blossomed into a 70 pound puppy! It has been amazing to watch her learn to play and really stretch those long legs of hers! She is going to a wonderful couple who will treat her like one of their children. She will certainly rule the roost as the only pet in the house! Luckily, I will still get to be 'auntie' to this beautiful, loving dog who was rejected by her original adoptive family. Lily has certainly made my attitude change about fostering other animals in the future. I now look forward to helping other pets find their forever homes one at a time. Thank you, Rescue Me, for posting Lily for me. Without your help, another dog would have been euthanized for no reason. Thank you again. -Aimee

I am very happy to have found Rescue Me. I received many calls from very nice families interested in adopting my dog. Had I not posted through this site, I would have ended up having to give up my dog to a shelter, which I really couldn't do. The family my dog ended up going to is perfect for my dog and have no doubt he will have a great quality life. I will recommend this site to everyone. I never had any spam calls or negative experiences here.

Walle came into the local shelter and tested heartworm positive, a result that usually warrants euthanasia. The shelter manager has worked on holding these animals for as long as possible based on the budget hoping a rescue can pull the dog and save it. I found Rescue Me after receiving an email apparently generated from working with Petfinder for this facility. I posted on the site in the past for animals running out of time for adoption and most recently for a heartworm positive, now successfully treated, dog that I decided to treat and foster until a rescue or adopter came forward to take him. When Walle came to the shelter, his disposition was so great that he was worth the effort to see if someone could get him out. His picture was posted less than a week before someone saw him and wanted to adopt him. I had just come from a local vet with a price of $600 to treat him and was sure that he would not get out of the shelter due to the cost. Then someone saw his picture and fell in love with him. He was adopted two days later. Not all of these dogs can be saved, but everyone that makes it out is a good thing. I have already posted the next one and hope the outcome is just as good. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Gunnarr is the most playful, outgoing, sweet boy. I love the shepherd breed so I was looking at a website that locally sold German Shepherds. From their website, I actually came across Resume Me and I fell in love as soon as I saw his picture. I'm all for rescue and adoptions so I went from there. The woman I spoke with that helped me through the whole process was amazing! They were all so helpful. I drove three hours one way to pick this handsome guy up. When he came running up to me, I knew I made the right decision! I promise to give Gunnarr the best life possible, and nothing less than what he deserves. I promise to fill his life with more love than he'll know what to do with, and to make sure he has nothing less than the best. Thank you all so much for this opportunity!

Wonderful experience indeed! We had heard through the Facebook grapevine that this beautiful GSD was set to be euthanized very soon. That just wasn't an option. Especially after we met. Our family lives in the wide open country. We have the heart, space, and experience working with and training GSD's. This boy is going to fit in here just fine. Thank you Rescue Me!

Sadie found a wonderful home! We could not have asked for a better home for her. And crazy enough, she took to the new owner and stuck to her side, like she belonged with her the whole time. While she was a friendly dog, we had never seen her do this prior to anyone, other than her owner. So, this truly was a PERFECT match! She will be living in the lap of luxury and with a truly wonderful woman. Thank you to Rescue Me another wonderful match has happened.

We have had five German Shepherds in the past and are absolutely in love with the breed because of their loyalty and disposition. We lost our last buddy in 2007. It broke our hearts so bad we had sworn we weren't going to get another, but with time we felt the pull at our heartstrings and began searching casually. This casual search became earnest approximately five months ago. We began looking for a new buddy every evening and feared that our blessing would take far too long for either of us. When we came across a Jade's picture, we immediately knew we had found the one we had been waiting for, and feel that she had been waiting for us too. Our hearts are completely stolen. She is our first female shepherd. We have only been home for about an hour, but she has already made herself right at home. We have truly been blessed. Thank you, Rescue Me.

I wanted to rescue a German Shepherd. I was all over the place looking at all kinds of sites. When I saw this angel I just fell in love! She is a special needs dog who needed my patience, love and time. She was actually going to be put down if no one rescued her! But thanks to this Rescue Me, I found her and saved her life! She was immediately part of the family and I never leave her side. I am so thankful and blessed to have found my perfect doggie soulmate!

Thank you for this site! Mia Grace took to Jake in a heart beat. He brought his puppy with him and the two had a blast playing together. I was so worried about letting her go, but after a bit, I could tell she was very comfortable with him, especially when it was time for him to leave and she jumped right into his truck all ready to go! I think she is happy! Thank you Jake and Rescue Me!

I posted the information earlier this afternoon and had a call before dinnertime and met the adopted family just moments ago. Thanks to this foundation, we were able to find Murphy a great home with loving people that are going to have the time and space to allow Murphy to live an enjoyable life. Anyone that is able should help donate either time or money to organizations such as this one. Thank you Rescue Me and thank you to Laura, the adopted mother of Murphy. Enjoy your time with him and please give him the life he deserves!

I filtered through dozens of craigslist requests from questionable people and inexperienced families as well as some families from the Rescue Me site that I knew before taking him to visit he would not be compatible based on numerous factors. I was very picky with what I knew he needed for his new home. I would read an email and go on to the next, then there were two families that were a match. I was in contact with them and it turned out that the first family that we took Bear to visit ended up being the perfect home for him. I was not going to even consider anyone else after going there! The new potential adoptive family noticed differences, yet the similarities in Bear to their male that had passed the previous year. Their female German Shepherd who is a little older was missing her best friend and was their reason for looking to adopt him as he was a bit more mature than starting over with an untrained puppy. Bear warmed right up to their family and the female and he is doing very well adjusting to the new environment and faces. There is even an eight month old female Shepherd puppy next door for him to keep his exercise up and have as another playmate. I don't think I could of found a more loving, deserving family to care for him as I made from this site. I thank Rescue Me for existing so that I was able to get him to his wonderful new family!!

Rescue Me was great! I met a lovely all female family looking for another loving female to add to their family. We met on several different occasions, both at my home and at theirs. They as well as Snow White loved each other, both were very friendly and affectionate. We met the entire family, went for walks with Snow White, looked through the house to make sure it was in good condition for her. I checked out the backyard area, etc. As much as I miss her I know she is in a good healthy, loving environment. Thanks Rescue Me, and Edwina!

Finding Judge the perfect forever home seemed impossible. Once I came close to what seemed a great match, then the adopter just stopped emailing me. But I promised Judge he would go to the perfect place or he just wouldn't go anywhere. Judge is that special to me. And just when I almost gave up, I received an email from a very wonderful lady. She and her husband had lost their sixteen year old german shepherd several months ago and were looking for the perfect companion dog to complete their home. She asked all the right questions, had all the right answers, researched the heart worms, talked to her vet about HW treatment. As things progressed she bought Judge his special dog food, two dog sofa beds, various treats and toys. When he and I made the home visit it all fell into place. It is a quiet environment with a lot of space to run around safe, run of the house and two humans who are in awe of his beauty and his sweet personality. It is a perfect fit. He is the center of attention in their world. I miss him so much, the bond was strong between us, but I know he is where he needs to be. Thank you Rescue Me for providing the format to make Judge's story one of such great success.

We are so happy that our two lovely dogs found a new home. A caring family with two children have opened their home and hearts to our dogs. They have been very supportive in for us a very difficult move and sent us pictures of the dogs in their new home and we can come visit them whenever we are back in town. A big thank you to Rescue Me that helped us find a family that could permit our dogs to stay together.

I stumbled on to Rescue Me when searching for a German Shepherd rescue site. I had originally rescued Buddy from a local shelter for my brother five years ago. When he unexpectedly passed away, I found myself needing to find Buddy a home once again, as we could not provide the best permanent home for him. Within two hours of posting, I had three or four phone calls! Within 36 hours, I had seven calls and he was picked up on a trail basis. I got tremendous response from posting on this site, which gave me good options to choose a great home for Buddy. Most all of the contacts sounded great, and I wish them all success in finding their 'fur-ever friends'. Rescue Me provided good support, knowledgeable suggestions and an option to donate back the adoption fee, which I was happy to do in order to support their fee-free postings! I keep telling everyone I talk to about the site. Buddy's new family LOVES him! Thank you!!!!

When our six year old German Shepherd bit a UPS carrier, my wife and I were very upset and resigned to the fact that we should put her down. We live in suburban Omaha and have zero-tolerance for a biting dog. We thought the odds were very slim that anyone would want to adopt a six year old dog with a biting history (just the one time.) Boy were we wrong! The response was tremendous. We received eight inquiries within a matter of a few days, with two-three of them being from good candidates. We ended up getting a call from someone my wife used to work with, and found her a perfect home. Although we're sad to give up our Shepherd, we're happy to know she'll be in a good home. And, we'll be able to visit her if we want. This was a happy ending to a sad start. Thanks to the Rescue Me organization for providing the forum to allow this to happen. - Bernie

Thank you, Rescue Me. Bella was adopted by a very nice young man and his girlfriend. They came and spent almost two hours just getting to know her and us them. The last report was that she was sleeping in the bed with the new owners. I wish they all could get lucky like her.

Dear Mr. Gold and Rescue Me: I tried for months to adopt a German Shepherd Dog from my local newspaper ads and came away saddened and disheartened each time. Once I signed up for alerts from Rescue Me, I found my forever fur baby! The staff at Fullmer Menagerie Animal Rescue really wanted the best match for Ronan, and I was really impressed with how thoroughly they checked out my references, animal owner history, and a home check. I needed a dog to train as my Service Dog, who could keep up with my active lifestyle, and who was even good around horses. My beautiful boy, Ronan, fits the bill on ALL levels! From the moment he became mine, he settled right in! I'm so grateful for your group! Thank you for the hard work you do! It is so appreciated!

He went right up to the couple and was very happy. It was kind of sad to see him go, but he is going to a very good home. Thank you, Rescue Me.

We were not able to keep a second animal due to regulations at our living quarters. I am training a 'service' dog for me so Jedda had to be put up for adoption. I AM SO HAPPY for Jedda as I believe, after several interviews, we have found the perfect home for the almost perfect GS. She is a purebred and is very smart. She took to her new family without a hitch. Lynette and family who adopted her had lost their GS several months ago. She emailed me about Jedda's new environment. Chickens, bunnies, four cats, a few birds and lots of space which I saw when I visited for the interview. Rescue Me is a wonderful service and deserve all the good press we the user can provide. Thank you.

We were thankful for the family that came along and adopted her and giving her a happy home.

We got many inquires for Gustav (Gus). We were fortunate to find a person very well suited to adopt Gus. She is a vet technician and understood Gus's Pancreatic Insuficiancy. To her it was no big deal as it was for us. Pills given with meals and that was it. Cost was not an issue as she has a great discount where she works. He will have many of the things we had wanted for him. Very pleased at the fast response we had on Rescue Me. Thank you for providing this service.
